TOWER, Shirley Eleanor -
After a lengthy illness, Eleanor passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health-Whitby on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2001 in her 65th year. Beloved wife of Alden (Dick) Tower. Will be sadly missed by her children, David Hore and his wife Rosemarie Grivich of Oshawa, Dawn Mooyer and her husband Barry Ward of Caledon, and stepson Jamie Tower and his wife Helen of Moncton, New Brunswick. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Mark and Christopher Mooyer of Caledon, Alicia Tower of Moncton and Michael Hore of Oshawa. Fondly remembered by sister Helen Kloster of Whitby, brother John Pratt of Brooklin and predeceased by brother Don Pratt of Oshawa. She will also be sadly missed by brother-in-law Claude Tower of Edmonton, Alberta, sister-in-law Vera Kroeker of Calgary, Alberta, Rowena (Rene) Woodward and Frank Tower of Hillsborough, New Brunswick and predeceased by brother-in-law Royden Tower of Oshawa. Friends may call OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE "Thornton Chapel” 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Thursday, October 25th from 2- 4 and 7 -9 P.M. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, October 26th at 1:00 P.M. Interment MOUNT LAWN cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Durham Lung Assocation would be appreciated.

CONELY, Norma -
Suddenly on October 22, 2001. Norma, devoted wife of Ian. Loving mother of Jaime, Cheryl, Scott and Amanda. Beloved daughter of Joan and the late Norman McRae, and daughter-in-law of Isabella and the late James Conely. Dear sister of Gwen, Carole, Patricia, Deborah, Robert, John and William. Norma will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Norma’s contribution to the Ajax Spartans “ Baseball Association will always be remembered and greatly missed. Friends will be received at the Accettone Funeral Home, 384 Finley Ave., Ajax, on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 1 until time of service in the chapel at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

(Retired Tool and Die Maker, Worked for Coulters Manufacturing for 37 years, Retired from Oshawa General Hospital after 10 years of service). At Extendicare, Oshawa on Monday October 22, 2001, Russell Davis in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Doris (nee Ward) for 55 years. Loving father of Margaret and her husband Bill Vetzal, Carolyn andher husband Jim Clancy and Ward Davis and his wife Heather. Predeceased by his daughter Lea Marilyn. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Steven, Christine, Laura, Paul, Allison, Patrick, Angela, Joseph and his six great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother Howard and sisters Audrey and Helen. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with complete Funeral Service in the Chapel on Thursday October 25, 2001 at 11 a.m. Cremation MOUNT LAWN MEMORIAL GARDENS. At Fairview Lodge, Whitby on October 22, 2001. Formerly of Peterborough, a bookkeeper at the Peterborough Medical Centre for manyyears. Wyn in her 89th year. Wife of the late Samuel Elliott of Peterborough. Dear mother of Aubrey (Lois) and Raymond (Sharon). Grandmother of Mark (Tanya), Matthew (Shauna), Kelly (John Campbell) and Lesley (Joe Henein). Great grandmother of Sarah, Jennifer and David Campbell, and Ryan, Mary and Matthew Henein. Sister of Georgina of Devon, England. Pre-deceased by brothers Harry and Stewart and by sister Meta of Northern Ireland. Following Cremation, a Memorial service will be held on Saturday October 27, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. at W. C. Town Funeral Home, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or Charity of your choice. The family will be receiving friends between 1:30 to 2:30 at the Funeral Home.

ENTWISTLE, Constance Alma -
(Member of the Church of Christ, Ajax; Life member of Lakeridge Health Ladies Auxilliary). Went home to be with her Lord, on Monday, October 22, 2001, at Sunnycrest Nursing Home, Whitby. Connie, stepmother of John Mark Entwistle of Toronto. Dear sister of Gordon and his wife Mary Donabie and the late Kathleen Donabie, Robert Donabie and John Donabie. Dear aunt of Robert Donabie, John Donabie, Wendy Donabie-Dixon and great-aunt of Jennifer Donabie-Haines, David Donabie, Samantha Donabie and James Donabie of Scarborough. Fondly remembered by her many chosen grandchildren and friends and special friends Vince and Emily Connolly. Relatives and friends will be received at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. F., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, October 25, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Oshawa Union cemetery. Loved mother of Carol (Charles) Ireland of Alliston and Jim (Ruth) Gillespie of Beaverton. Dear grandmother of Bill (Jean), Paul (Marilyn) and John Ireland, Christopher and Michael Gillespie. Sister of James Wilkinson of Beaverton and the late William Wilkinson. Durham Regional Police Constable for 27 years. After a 3 year battle against cancer, on Monday, October 22, 2001, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa, Tony, in his 59th year. Dearly beloved husband of Kathleen (nee Malnerich) for 37 years. A very loving and devoted father of Angela and her husband David Webster. Arlene and her husband John Taylor, all of Oshawa and Jennifer Hroncich of Toronto. Cherished Grandpa of Blaine Webster, Lauren Webster and Liam Taylor. Loved son of Antonia and the late John Hroncich. Dear brother of John and his wife Sophia Hroncich of Oshawa and Joseph and his wife Marjorie Hroncich of Bownaanville. LAVIS, Douglas Roy (Sr.) -
With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our husband and father in his 69th year at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa, on Monday October 22, 2001. Beloved husband to Yvonne (Bonnie) for 48 years. Loving father of Doug and his wife Kathleen, Brian and Don (Jr.). Devoted son of the late Allan Lavis and the late Audrey (nee Trull) of Oshawa. Brother of Mary Reid (nee Lavis) and Alf of Whitby and the late Donald Lavis of Oshawa. Loving grandfather to James and Paul Lavis and Kayla Lemon-Lavis of Oshawa. Born in Oshawa, Doug served overseas in the Korean War. He worked as a supervisor for the Canada Post Office for 35 years from where he retired. He coached girls baseball for many years in Oshawa. He will be sadly missed by his family, many relatives and friends that knew him. A private family service will be held at MOUNT LAWN cemetery in Whitby. Friends that would like to make donations may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to the Palliative Care at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa. The family extend their thanks to Dr. Long, the staff of the Intensive Care Unit, especially "nurse Rhonda", 4 Main staff with special mention to nurse "Mary". We would also like to thank Bill and Eileen Huard of Oshawa for the support and kindness that they expressed to our family during this most difficult time. Peacefully at home on Sunday, October 21, 2001 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Stanley. Adored mother of Craig. Survived by sister Connie (Jack) Harvey and sister-in-law Jeanie Kerr of Scotland. Loving aunt of Honey (John) Rae and numerous nieces and nephews of various locations. Predeceased by five brothers and seven sisters. The family will receive friends at the MCEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax from 7 to 9pm Tuesday. Funeral service to be held in the chapel at 11 am on Wednesday, October 24, 2001. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association.

NORMOYLE, Patrick John - In Campbell River, British Columbia on October 21 st, 2001, his 51st birthday, Patrick John Normoyle, dearly beloved son of Mavis and the late Robert Normoyle, passed away peacefully after a long illness. He is deeply mourned by his sister, Catherine Mckeown and her husband John of Toronto, his brother, Michael Normoyle of Quadra Island, B.C., and nephews Robert and Michael McKeown of Toronto, and Robert Normoyle of Quadra Island.
