Predeceased by sisters Margaret, Della and Agnes (Bobbe), also brothers Watson, James, Jack, Bob, Sam and Herb. Great Grandchildren are Liam, Esme and Anna of Armstrong and Marissa of Burlington. As well, many Lytle and Mann nieces, nephews, cousins and their offspring. Elizabeth studied art in Winnipeg in the 1920 s and in the Depression turned to hand colouring photography to make a living. Moving to Ottawa she worked at several photography studios before marrying Norman and becoming a full-time Mom. Norman s death, the result of a workplace accident at the City of Ottawa Water Filtration Plant at Lemieux Island, necessitated Elizabeth s return to the workforce. She worked days at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and often spent evenings at home tinting photographs to augment her income. She purchased a little house in the West End where she was able to coax a vegetable garden to grow in rock hard clay soil. Elizabeth taught her children to love literature, art, music and nature. Elizabeth enrolled in The Ottawa School of Art at the age of 65. She exhibited paintings at Ottawa City Hall with a group of seniors when she was in her seventies. As recently as 2005,Elizabeth contributed to paintings that resulted in colourful cards still being sold to aid Alzheimers patients at the Peter D. Clark Centre. To remember Elizabeth, please plant a tree, or a bush, or a flower in your garden. Donate to the Friends of the Experimental Farm or the Ottawa Food Bank. Take time to visit an old friend, smell a rose and appreciate a sunset. Many thanks to dedicated, gentle, caring staff at the Peter D. Clark Centre.
