Peacefully at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 9, 2003. Evelyn M. (Flake) Tobin of Jones Street East, St. Marys. Beloved wife of the late Norman V. (Norm) Tobin (2001). Loving mother of Judy Tobin of St. Marys. Proud grandmother of Meghan Tobin–O’Drowsky, Theresa O. and her husband Byung-Nam, Samantha and Ryan Ullyot. Predeceased by a daughter Sharron Tobin (1999), brothers James Flake and his wife Vera, Charles Flake and wife Mary Ellen, Bud Flake and wife Ferne. At Evelyn’s request there will be no funeral home visitation. Cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Holy Name of Mary Church in St. Marys on Friday, December 12, 2003 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Chris Bourdeau officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow in St. Marys Cemetery. In her memory, donations to the Diabetic Association, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made by calling the L.A. Lawrence Seebach
Mr. Lawrence Peter Seebach, 87, a resident of Hillside Manor Nursing Home, RR 5 Stratford passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 10, 2004. Dear brother of Gordon Seebach and wife Arnetta of New Hamburg; dear brother-in-law of Rose Pletsch of Stratford; dear uncle of Bob (Victoria) Seebach of New Hamburg, Elizabeth Shantz of Belleville, Dennis (Noella) Seebach of Kanata, Paul (Marilyn) Seebach of Clinton, John (Christine) Seebach of Welland, Charles (Janet) Seebach of New Hamburg and their families. Predeceased by his parents Ezra and Minnie (Koehler) Seebach and a brother Wilfred Seebach. Lawrence was a great- grandson of Andrew and Eva Seebach who were the first settlers of Seebach’s Hill. Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal Street, Mitchell on Thursday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. At Caressant Care Nursing Home, Woodstock on Friday, June 8, 2001, Violet (Haycock) Wilson Whitfield, in her 87th year. Wife of the late Robert Wallace Wilson (1969) and the late Clifford Whitfield (1989). Much loved mother of Janet Bidwell and husband Jerry of Ingersoll, Wally Wilson and wife Anne of Calgary, Bill Wilson and wife Marie of Ingersoll, Marjorie Hoover and husband Larry of Stratford, Helen Manicom and husband Alton of Ingersoll, Catherine Picard and husband Glen of Toronto, Bernice Manicom and husband Harold of Ingersoll and Laetta Johnson and husband Pat of Mt. Elgin. Loving and beloved grandmother of several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters Freida of Aylmer and Marion of Strathroy. Predeceased by granddaughter Brenda Bidwell (1982) and brother Mack Haycock of St. Thomas. Longtime charter member of Salford Women’s Institute and Leisure Club. Beverly Mae (Betty) Stewart
Mrs. Beverly Mae Stewart, age 83, formerly of 122 Dufferin Street, Stratford passed away peacefully at the Hillside Nursing Home, RR 5 Stratford on Tuesday, January 1, 2002. Born in Stratford, she was the daughter of the late John Alfred Hill and the former Nellie Browning. She had lived all her life in Stratford and was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. She was predeceased by her husband Albert James Stewart on October 4, 1978. Loving mother of Jim Stewart and his wife Kim, Orangeville, Joan Moorehead and her husband Roger and Judy Purcell and her husband Francis, all of Stratford. Dear grandmother of Keane, Alek and Alison Stewart, Lisa Murray and husband Brian, Roger Moorehead Jr. and wife Laura, Suzanne Sidwell and husband Paul and Heather Blowes and husband Rob. Great-grandmother of Darien Murray, Payton Murray, Evan Moorehead, Brendan Moorehead, Vanessa Sidwell and Graham Sidwell. Also survived by a sister-in-law Dorothy Hill. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a granddaughter Jill Moorehead in infancy, a great-grandson Reid Sidwell, a brother Edmund (Ted) Hill and sisters Sybil Gorman and her husband Audi, Ena Comley and her husband Percy, Maggie (Marg) Sillifant and her husband Alec (Sandy) and Eileen (Kitty) Hill who died in infancy. Mrs. Henry (Eileen) Stroh
Peacefully to her eternal home on Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at her home in Wellesley Eileen Caroline (Pehlke) Stroh was born in Elma Township 78 years ago. Daughter of the late Edward Pehlke and the late Louise Schmidt. Eileen was an avid quilter, and a faithful member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wellesley. She was very active in the ELW of St. Mark’s and volunteered for many local organizations. Beloved wife of Henry (Harry) Stroh of Wellesley for 45 years. Loving mother of Donald and Robert Stroh, both of Wellesley, Deborah and her husband Richard Boerner of Elmira, Sandra and her husband Ronald Bast of RR 2 Wellesley. Dear sister of Elmer and Beth Pehlke and Kenneth and Rosemary Pehlke, both of Monkton, Norman and Leola Pehlke of Watford, John Pehlke of Edmonton, Alberta, Edna Crawford of Monkton and Luella Holman of Stratford. Sister-in-law of John Strong and his wife Shirley of Edmonville and Betty Pehlke of Mitchell and Mervyn and Beatrice Stroh of Milverton, Albert and Violet Stroh of Wellesley and Norma and Robert Bauman of Waterloo. Grandmother of Karen Hunter, Stephen Hunter, Michael Hunter, Susanne Hunter, Leslie Riley, Robert Riley, Lindy Feltz and Carla Fowler. Grandmother by marriage of Victoria Hunter, Agnes Hunter, Daniel Johnson, Kevin Feltz and Trevor Worsell. Great-grandmother of 13. Daughter of the late Clara (nee Goforth) and Peter Smith. Survived by sister Rae Tuffnail, Flint, MI, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Agnes Plume, Alice Gunn and brother Jack Smith. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Annie (Johnson) Kempston, a brother Donald Kempston and a sister Rachel Fawm. June and her husband owned and operated seven Dairy Queen franchises across Canada. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 259, Listowel. Mr. Joseph Reiger, 96, of Windmill Gardens, Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Monday, December 16, 2002. Joseph had farmed in Logan and Ellice townships most of his life before moving to Stratford. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Stratford and was an avid gardener. He was predeceased by his wife Pauline on June 16, 1994. Loving father of Frederick Reiger, Crystal Lake, Freeda and husband Harold Weirmier, Michigan, Margaret and husband Joe Nagy, Waterloo, Gordon Reiger and wife Margaret, Stratford, William Reiger, B.C., Ilean Thomson and friend Glen Bree, Stratford, Jim Reiger and wife Cheryl, Port Elgin, Joe Reiger and wife Trudy, Gadshill, George Reiger and wife Ascunion, Stratford, Pat Reiger and friend Eleanor McMann, Mitchell, Dan Reiger and friend Marion Dittrich, Kitchener, Deb and husband Ken Andela, Stratford. Loving grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Charlie, Frank, Julia, Mary, Betty, Annie and their families. Herbert Hatch
Herbert Hatch, a resident of People Care, 198 Mornington Street, Stratford and formerly of 29 Arden Park, Stratford passed away at his residence on Monday, February 24, 2003, in his 86th year. Born in Stratford, he was a son of the late Robert Hatch and the former Mary Elizabeth Hatch. He had been employed at Kroehler Manufacturing Company for 44 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Stratford. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 8 Stratford, the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans Association, Stratford Branch, Unit 261, 4th RCR. Sergeants’ Mess and a member of the Perth Regiment and was a commanding officer of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. He had served overseas during the Second World War. Beloved husband of Joan Mary (Cottingham) Hatch who predeceased him on October 27, 1994. Dear father of Christopher Hatch of Stratford. Also survived by a sister-in-law Eleanor Hatch of Stratford, a brother-in-law Kitch Manning of London and several nieces and nephews including Helen Harmer and husband Ken of Stratford. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by seven sisters and four brothers. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received at the Heinbuck Funeral Home, 156 Albert Street, Stratford on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 28, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. Rev.
