McGinnis, Charlotte "Charlie" Elizabeth (nee Burton)

Passed away peacefully March 2, 2008 at the age of 74 years.

Beloved wife of the late Douglas for 36 years (1990). Cherished mother of David (Sandra), Dale, Lynn (Paul) and Michelle (George). Loving grandmother of Stephanie, Douglas, Drew and Krystyn. "Gramma Charlie" to Jacqueline, Stacey, Ryan, Stephanie, Tina and Ted. Great grandma of Alexander and "Great grandma Charlie" of Carly and Matthew. Dear sister of Harold Burton (Mary Lou) and Ron , predeceased by Jim and Doreen Burton and predeceased by sister in law Clarence and Marlene St. Louis and of Joyce Baziw (Adam). She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the Morris Sutton Funeral Home & Chapel, 68 Giles Blvd. E on Tuesday, March 4 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the Chapel Wednesday, March 5 at a.m. Cremation to follow with a private interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In kindness, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charity of your Choice.

Mr. William "Henry" Myers
September 20, 1918 - March 8, 2008
Beloved Man

William Henry (Harry) Myers. Eldest son of Madge (nee Glover) and Wm. Frederick Myers. Born September 20, 1918 in Hindley, Lancashire, England. Passed away on the 1st of March, 2008 in Oshawa, Ontario from an injury suffered in an accident on the 29th of February, 2008.

Joined the Royal Canadian Navy as a boy seaman in March 1936 and retired in March 1966 as Lieut. Commander with 6 years in rank. Pursued a successful career in Social Services for the Ontario Government until his retirement in 1981. A proud member of the Masonic Lodge since 1945; an active member of the Shriners; and, a member in good standing with the Canadian Legion.

Married Eileen Mary Sinnott in 1942 and from that lifelong union he has left the legacy of 4 children (Harry, John, Janet and Stephen), 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren (noted below with their respective families).

D.R. Harry Myers and his children Jason Barron and Chantal. John F. Myers (and wife Maureen) and their children Adam (and wife Gosia), Michael (and wife Gabby; and children Zoë, Lucas, and Noah), Paul, Rozlyn, Luke (and fiancée Katie), and Mark (and fiancée Erin). Janet E. M. Myers-Malloy (and husband Larry); and her children, Julie Duggan (and husband Daniel; and children Liam, Cade, and Quinn), and Heather. Stephen D. Myers (and May) and his children Alexander, Harrison and Sabrina. He is predeceased by his siblings John F., Charles E., Ruth Alyse, and Lillian Elsie. Special thanks to Father Lincoln Mckoen.

Harry was an honourable man, loving husband, gentle father, and a youthful grandfather and great grandfather; and, all those who had the honour of knowing him are better for it. He is missed immensely.

Friends will be received at MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby (north of Hwy 2) from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008. Service in the chapel on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cedarcroft Place, 649 King Street East, Oshawa, ON L1H 8P9, Attn: R. Jaffee-Hopkins would be appreciated by his family.

Geraldine "Gerry" Dalton
August 6, 1925 - March 3, 2008

DALTON, Geraldine "Gerry" (nee Fletcher) 82 years, passed away March 03, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Eugene Dalton (2002). Loving mother of Bill & Sally (Houston, TX.), John (Grand Junction, CO.), Mary & Gordon Hillman, Joan & Dan Soulliere and Mark & Jennifer Dalton (LaConner WA.). Cherished grandmother of Katie, Meghan, Johanna and Connor Hillman, Roseanne, Daniel, Suzy, Aidan and Grace Dalton. Dear sister of Joan Baillargeon, Mary Lou Lacasse and the late Bertha & Bill Elliott. Dear sister in law of Clorice Dalton. Geraldine was a member of the Catholic Womens League and the American Womens Club. Visiting at the Janisse Bros-Marcotte Funeral Home 1139 Ouellette Avenue (519-253-5225) on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. & Friday from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. CWL prayers at 3:00 p.m. and parish prayers Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. Further visiting will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 834 Raymo Road on Saturday March 8, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Dino Salvador Celebrant. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As your expression of sympathy donations may be made to Brentwood Recovery Home. A tree will be planted in memory of Geraldine Dalton in the Janisse Bros-Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held September 28, 2008 all are welcome.

September 18, 1916 - March 5, 2008

Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Providence Manor. Predeceased by her beloved husband Robert. Dear mother of Joseph (Anne) of Trenton. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Melissa, Joey, Marguerite, Theresa and by her great grandchild Mason. Sister-in-law of Thelma Cheney of Oakville, Willard Hillier and Ruth Hillier of Kingston.

Family and friends will be received at the Central Chapel of the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home, 49 Colborne Street (at Clergy) on Friday, March 7th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Cremation to follow.

Veecock, John Allan - (March 19, 1930 - March 5, 2008) At Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Hospital Drive Site in his 78th year. John, dear husband of Marilyn (nee McLean), father of Sean (Kim Cavanagh) and grandfather of Van. Brother of Ralph and Marguerite both of Toronto and David (Inge) of London, England. Uncle of Keith (Anne) and Elizabeth (Sinead) and great uncle of Laura, Sarah and James all of London, England. John will be missed by his family and good friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the NISBETT FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL (600 Monaghan Rd. S., Peterborough) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 1 p.m. Reception to follow in the Nisbett Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre or the Alzheimer's Society. Many thanks to the kind nurses of 2 West and Hutch 5 for their care of John during the last 8 months. Also thanks to the Brown Bag Group for their friendship and support.
