Death Notice (06/06/00)
FISHER, Dr. Robert William - Died Sunday, June 4, 2000, with dignity, courage and humour, at home in the loving care of his family. He was predeceased by his wife Norma Fisher (1991). Robert worked as a research scientist at Agriculture Canada, London, Ontario and then at Vineland Station, retiring in 1980. He was a well-known artist, a member of the Ontario Society of Artists and the St. Catharines Art Association. He was also an amateur mycologist, mineralogist and naturalist. Robert was a part of all whom he met and his legacy will be carried on in those lives he touched, especially Eira Voth, daughter Belinda (Chris) Rowe of Thorold; son Kenneth Fisher of Saskatoon; grandchildren, Brianne, Rachel and Jayme; sister Lorna MacLean of Summerstown and Eira's family. A Memorial Service will be held at the Vineland Chapel of the Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St. on Friday, June 9th at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, charitable expressions of remembrance to Rodman Hall Arts Centre or the Hotel Dieu Hospital Oncology Clinic would be appreciated by the family.

Dear daughter of Dora Ainsley and Derek and Susan Ainsley of St. Catharines. Dear daughter-in-law of Frank and Edna Hartwick of St. Catharines. Dear sister of Geoff and wife Lise of Haliburton and Carol and husband Kent Irvine of St. Catharines. Dear sister-in-law of Barton Hartwick of St. Catharines. Dear aunt of Kelly, Erica and Robert; Kevin pre-deceased. Lovingly remembered by her aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Service in the DUFFUS CHAPEL on Wednesday, June 7, 2000 at 11 a.m. Interment Niagara Lakeshore cemetery , Niagara-on-the-Lake on Thursday, June 8, 2000 at 12 noon (friends welcome). JACOBI, Carmel Teresa (nee Grecco) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Carmel on Monday, June 5th, 2000 after a brief illness at the Welland County General Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Earl "Jake" Jacobi (February 20th, 1990). Loving mother of Jae Sarafinchan, Barbara and Carl Bradley, all of St. Catharines, Clara and Don Davis of Fonthill. Loved grandma of Lori and Kevin Guhl, Steven and Wendy Sarafinchan, Kelly and Rob Murray, Stephanie and Peter Burton, great-grandma pizza of Chantelle, Bradley, Aleigha, Michael, Matteson, Tealle, Caitlin, Dylan, Brayston and Jake. Daughter of the late Pasquale and Teresa Grecco and sister of the late Angelo, Frank, Peter, Mary Arena, Nick and Joe Grecco. Carmel was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Thorold. She was a long time member of the Thorold Senior Citizens. Many people will remember her lovely smile during the years she worked at Steadman's Jewellery in Thorold, Walkers and Marks and Spencer at the Pen Centre. Carmel is resting at the KARL A. HAMMOND FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold for visitation on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral on Thursday, June 8th to Holy Rosary Church (corner of Queen Street and Sullivan Avenue), Thorold for Funeral Mass (time to be announced). The Rite of Committal at Lakeview cemetery , Thorold. If so desired expressions of sympathy may be mde to the Niagara Region Lung Association.

Soulier and the late Cecil Ladouceur. Dearly loved mother of Dean Ladouceur (Katrina Williams) and Jeannine Desharnais (Mark Ingram) and the late Laurent Jean-Marc. Grandmother of Mark, Faith and Mercedes. Sister of Katherine Ladouceur and Connie Paulin. Aunt of Robert A. Paulin Jr. Granddaughter of Lawrence and Marie Soulier of Pembroke and Margaret Ladouceur of St. Catharines. Niece of Isadore and Muriel Ladouceur. Also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Cecile will be sadly missed by best friends Pierrette and Diane. Cecile's family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (684-6346) on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, June 8, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. The Rite of Committal will follow in Victoria Lawn cemetery. Ernie was a veteran of WWII, a retiree from the St. Lawrence Seaway (1972) and an active officer in the Credit Union movement. Wife of the late Arthur Joseph Poulin (1981). Dear mother of Barbara Sinnett of Grimsby, Patricia Crowley of Edmonton, Alberta, Carolyn Crowley of Vineland and Andrea (Haakon) Kierulf of Montreal. Predeceased by sons Vern in 1943 and Eldrid in 1928. Sister of Hazel Fitzgerald of Kingston. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
