LORBETSKIE, Dominic I. On May 12, 2000 with his devoted and loving wife Annie Olsheskie at his side, Dominic entered his eternal home. Born in Hopefield on May 17, 1928, he was the youngest of twelve children. Dominic worked hard and sacrificed much, but found great comfort and joy in his children Michael (Sylvia) and Andrew (Nancy) and his grandchildren Tamara, Maya and Jennifer. He is also survived by his brother Bennie and sister Veronica Murack. Friends may call at the O'Reilly Funeral Home, Barry's Bay, Tuesday May 16, 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass at St. Hedwig's Parish on Thursday May 18 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Parish cemetery.

MARTIN, Dorothy Patricia (nee Moore) Peacefully in Bourget on Sunday, May 14, 2000, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Alcine Martin. Cherished mother of David (Denise Careau) of Orleans and much loved grandmother of Stephanie and Julie. She is also survived by her sister, Frances (Alfred Kaelas) and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her eldest sister, Mabel (Maynard Allan). Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, where family and friends may pay their respects between 4 and 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16th. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the chapel on Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at 10 a.m., followed by interment at St. James cemetery in Hull. In memoriam donations to the Cumberland Lodge would be appreciated.

Dear sister of Kay Wengryin and Jennie Neidy and predeceased by her brothers Nicholas and John Odoyski. Carl was the loving, caring, supportive husband of Gail (Schinzel). Dear and cherished father of Debbie (Stan), Lynda (Bob) and James (Lisa). Loving Grampa of Lindsay, Katie, Shayne, Kendra & Carter. Brother of Donna Barbe (Ron). Brother-in-law to Joan Scott (Gord), Joyce O'Callaghan (Ron) and uncle to Richard, David, Peter, Joey, Warren and their families. Fondly remembered by relatives, friends and co-workers of the British American Bank Note Company where he was employed for 37 years. Your gentle, kind and intelligent ways will remain in our hearts forever. A special thanks to staff at the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Care Centre and the Civic Palliative Care Group. A Service for Carl will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2000 in St. John's Evangelical United Church, Golden Lake, Ontario followed by Interment at the Church cemetery. ONYSKO, William (Bill) February 11, 1924 - May 13, 2000 P.Eng., CD (Cdr. Ret'd. RCN), P.MGR Peacefully, at home, in Ottawa, in his sleep, on Saturday May 13, 2000 at age 76. Bill, the beloved husband (51 years) of Genevieve (Parker), will always be lovingly remembered by his cherished children: Kathryn T. Ross (Gregory), Halifax, N.S.; Nancy, a.k.a. Zoe, Bear River, N.S.; Mary Anne van Gaal (Marty), Nepean, ON; Patrick Onysko (Kim), Sydenham, ON. He was the devoted and loving grandfather of: Andrew, Ryan, Jason, Matthew, Kaitlin, Sara, Christopher, and Casey. Bill will be dearly missed by his sisters: Mary Munroe, Winnipeg, MB; Jean Stewart (Chuck), Winnipeg, MB; Ollie Parker (Jack), Crofton, B.C. He is predeceased by parents, George and Mary Onysko; brothers, John, Joseph, Peter, and Donald. Bill was born and raised in Winnipeg, and joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1942. He earned his Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1946, and attended St. Mary's University acquiring the CIM designation in 1969. During university, Bill enjoyed playing all sports, including: football, boxing, basketball, and hockey and his lifelong passion was curling; as an ardent curler who immensely enjoyed and thrived on the competition of bonspiels. His distinguished Naval career took him through many positions and postings in Canada and the US. He demonstrated lifelong initiative, dedication and high achievement; as a young man having received a gold watch in recognition of excellence for his perfect service in newspaper delivery and during a military posting in Washington, D.C., he founded the Potomac Curling Club in 1961. After retiring from the RCN in 1974, he continued working with the National Energy Board until 1985. Throughout his life Bill will always be remembered for his devoted, caring and unconditional voluntarism, especially after retirement, with 'The Day Away Program' (Alzheimer Society), Knights of Columbus, Big Brothers Association, and Neighbourhood Watch (as Past President). His generosity extended to anyone who needed a helping hand; he was there to assist and support. Family will be receiving visitors at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, on Tuesday May 16th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, 153 Woodroffe Avenue at Byron, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully accepts donations in his memory to the Alzheimer Society and Arthritis Society.
