Dear father of Sharen and Milton Hoover of Selkirk, Brian and Georgette Hoover of Selkirk, Linda and Bob Catherwood of Brantford and Mike and Cindy Hoover of Port Dover. Loving grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Brother and brother-in-law of Nellie Hedges of Port Dover, Wilmer and Jean Hoover of Hamilton, Fred and Donna Hoover of Dunnville, Connie and Ira Sherk of Selkirk, Lillian Sherk of Selkirk, Violet Hoover of Hamilton and the late Ernie, Melvin, Louise Jones, Edith Hoover and Norris Hoover. Ernie was Past District Deputy Grand Master of Brant Masonic District (1975-1976); Past Master of King Solomon Lodge #329 A.F. & A. M., Jarvis (1960) and a member of O.E.S. #299, Port Dover (Lynn River Chapter). Ernie along with his wife Beulah ran Welt's General Store in Nanticoke for many years and retired as Post Master at Nanticoke in 1981.
