JORDAN - Suddenly at Sarnia General Hospital on Wednesday, December 6th, 2000 Andrew W. "Andy" Jordan of Sarnia in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Loretta L. Jordan. Dear father of Robert "Bob" Jordan and his wife Maureen of Sarnia, predeceased by his daughter Barbara E. Baldock. Dear grandfather of Sherry Fowler and her husband Ken of Ingersoll, Jeff Jordan and his wife Rhonda of Sarnia, and Nora Taylor and her husband Travis of Port Dover. Dear great grandfather of Rachael Fowler and Madison Jordan. Also loved by his son-in-law Alan Baldock and his wife Carol of Nova Scotia. Dear brother-in-law of Leona Froome of St. Thomas. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street, South, London. The funeral service will be conducted at All Saints Anglican Church, 249 Hamilton Road, London on Monday, December 11th, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Canon Benjamin Burry officiating. Interment at Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Thomas. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, 617 Wellington Street, London,Ontario, N6A 3R6 or to the All Saints Anglican Church, 249 Hamilton Road, London, Ontario N5Z 1R2. A Masonic service will be conducted in the chapel on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. with Nilestown No. 345 A.F. & A.M. in charge.

LUXTON - Jill Reta of St. Thomas, passed away Thursday, December 7th, 2000, in her 44th year, at home after a long and brave struggle. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." II Timothy 4:7. Jill is the youngest and dear daughter of the late Fred Luxton (Sept. 21, 2000) and Reta Luxton of St. Thomas. Loved sister of Elaine Holland and her husband Ken of Fingal and Judith Schmitz and her husband Charles of Massachusetts. Sadly missed by five nieces- Cherie Alderton (Greg), Cara Mueller (Richard), Cathy Adams (Matthew), Amy and Jennifer Schmitz and one nephew Bradley Schmitz, great aunt of Emma Jasmine Mueller. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas and then to the Bible Baptist Church where funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care), the Victorian Order of Nurses, the Canadian Cancer Society or Bible Baptist Church. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Jill.

REITH - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, December 7, 2000. Daniel S. Reith of St. Thomas (President of Reith & Associates Insurance and Financial Services Ltd.), in his 65th year. Husband of Mrs. Diane Reith. Father of Daniel Mark Reith of Aylmer and Darren David Reith and his wife Stephanie of London. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park, St. Thomas. Memorial donations to the Shrine Hospitals for Children gratefully acknowledged.

VAN DIJCK - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Friday, December 8, 2000. John Van Dijck of Aylmer in his 71st year. Loving son of Gerarda (Hutten) Van Dijck. Dear brother to Hans Van Dijck of the Netherlands, Thea Verkaart and husband Martin of Aylmer, Willy Meurs and husband Cor of Aylmer and Gerry Van Dijck and wife Bonnie of London. He will be sadly missed by a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Saturday, 7-9 and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Monday, December 11, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. Interment, Queen of Peace Cemetery. Father Gilbert Simard, officiating. Donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated.

MCALISTER - At the Elgin Manor, St. Thomas on Friday, December 8, 2000. Gwendolyn B. McAlister formerly of R.R. #1 Dutton in her 93 year. Beloved wife of the late John W. McAlister. Dear mother of Bill and Bev McAlister of Dutton. Survived by several cousins including Betty and Earl Bobier of Dutton. Special friend of Jerry and Dodie Lilley and family of R.R. #1 Dutton. Predeceased by her parents Percy and Sara (Binks) Witherden. Relatives and friends will be received at the Arn Funeral Home, Dutton Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 where the funeral service will be held on Monday, December 11, 2000 1:30 p.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Dutton. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.

NEWSON - James Douglas of St. Thomas, on Sunday, December 10 2000, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 63rd year. Beloved husband of Ruth Anne (Yeandle) Newson and the late Sheila (Shakir) Newson (1962) and dearly loved father of Randy Wallace and his wife Wendy of Kingston, Cheryl Girling and her husband Joel of Gananoque and Michelle and her husband Mike Haines of Aylmer. Dear brother of Raymond and his wife Barbara Newson of St. Thomas and brother-in-law of Pete and his wife Anne Yeandle of St. Thomas. Loved grandfather of Jamie, Morgan and Travis Wallace, Sasha, Brittany and Deziray Girling and Brett and Brooke Haines. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Sunday, December 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Cremation, with burial of ashes in Elmdale Cemetery. A private family service to be held on Monday. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Building Fund of Central United Church. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Jim.

NICHOLS - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Friday, December 8th, 2000. Lorne Edward Nichols of St. Thomas in his 70th year. Beloved husband of the late Mrs. Margaret Edith (Weir) Nichols (1993) and dearly loved father of Sandra and her husband Erwin Krafft; Nancy and her husband David Oatman; William and his wife Moira Nichols and Joanne Nichols and her husband Kim Powers all of St. Thomas. Dear brother of Margaret and her husband Jack Sharpe, St. Thomas and the late Lawrence, Morley and Norman Nichols and the late Merle Churchill. Lorne is also lovingly remembered by nine grandchildren Rob, Jennifer, Joe, Amy, Paul, Adam, Mark, Patrick and Sean; by three great grandchildren Rebecca, Michael and Justin and by several nieces and nephews. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas. Public visitation will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A private family service will be held with cremation to follow. Remembrances may be made to the Charity of choice. A donation will be made to the Memory Garden at Pinafore Park in remembrance of Lorne.

COAD - Peacefully at his home in Glencoe on Thursday, February 1, 2001, J. Stewart Coad in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Elsie) (nee Marko) Coad. Dear father of Patricia and her husband Allister Erdodi of St. Thomas, Gary Stewart Coad and his wife Elsie of St. Thomas and Donna and her husband David Carruthers of Glencoe. Loved by his four grandchildren, Steven and Lisa Coad of St. Thomas and Brent and Robert Carruthers of Glencoe. Also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Violet Coad of Ekfrid Twp. and Margaret Coad of Glencoe and one Aunt, B. Margaret Coad of Mosa Twp. as well as several nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by the Marko Family. Predeceased by his parents Philip and Nellie Coad, 2 brothers Louis and Fred and infant sister Mary Alice. Relatives and friends will be received at the Arn Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3 at 1:30 p.m. Fr. Michael O'Brien officiating. Interment Oakland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Four Counties Health Services Foundation or V.O.N.
