Ruby Martin (Reid)

Died peacefully at Mississauga Hospital on Sunday, December 16, 2001 in her 82nd year. Beloved mother of Edward (Pat), Sylvia (Floyd), Allan, Gord, Randy, Rick and predeceased by her daughter Marlene. Ruby will be sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel at 3 p.m. Cremation.

Allan Lawrence Abrahams

Born the 6th of seven children on August 17th, 1924 in Willesden, London, England to parents Louis and Madeline Abrahams. Educated in Middlesex, Allan joined the Royal Air Force in 1941. During his four-year tenure he was initially stationed at Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona where he graduated from Flight Training School and obtained his 'Wings'. Later returning to England, Allan was posted to RAF Bradwell Bay, Essex and finally RAF Spilsby, Lincolnshire. After WW II ended, Allan was transferred to Kirkham, Lancashire were he studied to become an accountant. Married to Corporal Patricia Blythman of the WAAF on April 20th, 1946, Allan was then posted to RAF Cosham before being released in 1947. Allan and Patricia came to Canada in 1955 aboard the HM Saxonia. Taking up residence in Toronto, Allan first worked in the private sector before joining the Leaside Board of Education in 1960. Later Allan joined the East York Board of Education where as a business administrator he contributed 28 years service before retiring in 1988. While in retirement Allan joined the Etobicoke Board of Education for two years and later served as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for a Condominium Corporation. During the 70s and 80s Allan successfully bred and raced Thoroughbred horses in Ontario and throughout the USA. In recent years Allan and Patricia travelled to Europe and the Middle East while maintaining the family home in Etobicoke. Allan passed away quietly during the early hours of Monday, January 16th, 2006 at Toronto Western Hospital. He is survived by loving wife Patricia and only son Neil and daughter-in-law Alison, brother Gerald Abrahams and sister-in-law Anita, nieces Geraldine, Karen, Kim and Penny, and nephews Alan, David and Roger. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 21 at 2 p.m. at the Bernardo Funeral Home, 855 Albion Road, Etobicoke, Ontario. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 20 between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Alexander Roy Morrison

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2006, with his family by his side at St. Joseph’s Health Centre at the age of 92. Much loved husband to Jean for 63 years. Loving dad to Lynda (David) Hancock, Rosemary (Rick) Sparkman, Kim (Todd) Emmerson. Adored grandpa “daddy papa” to Debra (Brad), Doug (Lianne), Julie (Marko), Eryn (Paul), Kyle (Mandy), Nicholas, Spencer, Blake, and great-grandpa to Laura, Ryan, Taylor, Megan, Erika, Connor, and Hannah. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 from 2 to 4pm. A Service will follow in the Chapel at 4pm. Cremation. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or trees planted in memory of Roy. Jemima “Mamie” Sleigh

Peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2006 with all her family by her side at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga site in her 100th year. Loving wife of the late Joe. Much loved mom of Bob (June) and Joan Lawson. Cherished grandma of Joe (Lee), Laura (Mark), Rob (Susan), Lyndsay (Tim) and the late Scott, and great-grandma (Nana) of Hannah, Ainslee, Elijah, Bryanna and Maya. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 11am. Interment Springcreek Cemetery.

James Wylie

Suddenly on Monday, January 2nd, 2006 in his 81st year, beloved husband to Georgette for 58 years, loving father to Gary (Suzanne), Glen (Irma), Dale (Shelley) and James (Cherlynn). Poppa to 10 Grandchildren and one great grandchild. He will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters as well as his C.N. Rail buddies and close friends and relatives. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service to be held in the chapel on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation. Jack “Smokey” Ellis Evans

Passed away peacefully on January 4, 2006 at the McCall Centre in his 95th year. Long time faithful member of St. Margaret’s New Toronto. Beloved husband of the late Charlotte “Lottie” Evans (2004). Loving father of Art (Gayle), Dean (Carol) and Charlene. Grandfather to Jennifer, Dean, Lindsay, Blake and Great grandchildren Nathanael. Survived by his brother Richard Evans. Smokey is predeceased by his parents Ellis and Naomi Evans, sisters Doris, Gladys, Jean, brother Reg and his granddaughter Kristy. Helen Wursta

Anton Schweigel

On Wednesday, January 11, 2006, Anton Schweigel, late of Mississauga. Loving brother of John Schweigel and his wife Maria and the late Teresa Wurm and her late husband Josef of California. Anton will be missed by his nephews, Peter, John and Walter Schweigel of Toronto and his niece Terri Glenn and nephew Martin Wurm of California. Peacefully at the Trillium Health Centre on January 11, 2006. Loving wife to Antonia. Loving mother to Michael (Sandra), Angela (Jim), Maria (Joseph) and Frank (Maria). Loving Nonna to Evan and Noah. Was taken from us, suddenly, on January 12, 2006, in her 27th year. She will forever be remembered lovingly by parents Eric and Susan Gray, sister Shawna, and grandmothers Jo Foster and Nancy Gray as a bright ray of sunshine, who, in recent years endured an unquiet mind. Margaret Whyte (Nee Brown)

Passed away Sunday, January 15th, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, surrounded by her children. Loving wife of the late Thomas Whyte. Devoted mother to Carol (Gary Sangwin), Joanne (Lloyd Graham), Jim, Debbie Whyte and predeceased by her son Tom. She will be sadly missed by her loving grandchildren Jordan (Ashley), Andrew, Caleb and Evan Sangwin, Kevin, Jen, Rick, Kyle, and Lloyd Graham, Leandra and Ashley Whyte, and great granddaughter Chloe Sangwin. Fernand T. (Fred) Adams

(World War II Veteran) On Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at William Osler Health Centre, Etobicoke in his 88th year. Loving husband of Dorothy (nee Geerts). Dear father to Michael and Dennis (Teri). Loving babcia to Ron, Robert, Chris, Janice, Sheryl, Michael, Carolyn, Edwina, Sharlene, Darlene and pra babcia to Nathan, Nicholas, Sara, Natalia, Julia, Grant, Bryce, Steven, Emily and Alexander.
