Alice Rimmer (nee Cook)

Peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in her 80th year, Alice, beloved wife of Albert. Loving mother of Albert Jr., Arthur and Michael. Dear grandmother of Jessica, Jennifer and Cole. Sadly missed by her sister Mary Gaudet and her brothers Henry, Raymond, Eddie, Malcolm and Larry. Also missed by other family and friends. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Friday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Complete service in the chapel Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Private Interment. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.

Rachel Self (nee McMath)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother on Saturday, February 24, 2007. She now joins her beloved husband and best friend Albert. She is deeply and sadly missed by her son James and his wife Wendy, as well as her cherished granddaughters Julia and her husband Jeff, Laura and her husband Michael, grandson Stuart and his wife Patricia and her adorable great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her brothers James, Robert, sister Kathleen, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her much loved 5 sisters and 3 brothers. The family would like to thank the caring staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre and the devoted staff at Baycrest Centre Comfort Care Unit. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 am. A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 11:30 am. In Rachel’s memory donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be appreciated.

Edward James McCarron

After a brief illness on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Toronto General Hospital, Edward, age 76 years, dearly loved husband of Margaret. Loving father to Deborah Lebedick (Richard) and Brenda Lismore (Geoff). Dear grandfather to Kerry Spalding (Jeff), Tina Lismore (Paul) and great grandfather of Taylor Spalding. Also survived by his sister Margaret Woodcock. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Service in the chapel Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga in her 101st year, Mary, dear loving mother of Evelyn Talefich, Ray Starkes (Paula), Marjorie Burger, Ernest Stares and Mary Jefferies (Jeff). Dear grandmother of Michael, Marjorie, Lyn, Donna, Kathy, Keith, Kim, John, Bill, Sheila, Kim, Mark and Barry. Also survived by her sisters Jessie, Freda, Hazel, brother Michael, great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren and many other family and friends. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Friday from noon until time of service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place.

Rhona May McColeman (Nee Clissold)

Born December 1, 1922, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Loving, devoted wife of 60 years of Alfred. Dear Mom of Carol May (Ken) and Paul (Rosemary). Proud Grandma of Courtney (Chris), Todd (Rebecca), and Kevin (Lianne). Adoring Great-Grandma of Cameron and Aiden. Fondly remembered by numerous family and friends. Rhona’s life was filled with love and her family and friends have lifetimes of happy memories. With each smile, we will think of our wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend. You will be missed every day and loved by all who shared their lives with you. Thank you to the wonderful staff at McCalls and Mississauga Trillium for your help and support. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Arthritis Society.

On Thursday, March 1, 2007 at his home in his 95th year, Arthur, dearly beloved husband of the late Doris. Predeceased by his daughter Marilynn Patricia Byer (2004). Survived by his son-in-law Eldon Byer, grandchildren David James, Lois Martin, Christian Byer, Joanne Vogelsang and Eunice Free. Also survived by 14 great granchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, niece Madelene, nephew Bob and predeceased by brother Robert Donaldson Melvin. Also sadly missed by Lynn Williston and her children Clifton Savoury, Karen Murphy, Travis Savoury and Christine Savoury. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. Service in the chapel Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at the age of 80 at Wesburn Manor Home For The Aged. Beloved wife of the late Samuel Higgins Hawkins. Loving Mum of Vashty and step-mother of Hilary and Katie. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Diane, Ursula and her husband Tad, Stanley, Mark and her great grandchildren Brandon, Cameron and Elizabeth. Wendy Rita Yarranton (nee Holliday)

On Saturday, March 10, 2007, after a lengthy illness, peacefully at St. Michael's Hospital in her 58th year, survived by her husband John, daughter and son-in-law Samantha and Brian Oram, grand-kitty Mango and grand-puppy Coby, brother Wesley (Bonnie) Holliday, sisters Debbie (Ralph) Henderson and Dawn Finkle. She will be sadly missed her many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Wendy devoted 35 years to providing care as a Registered Nurse on the paediatric unit at St. Michael's Health Care Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph Health Centre Child Life Services Unit or to St. Margaret's Anglican Church. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held from St. Margaret's Anglican Church on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. There will be visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the Church.

After a lengthy illness on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at William Osler Health Centre – Etobicoke Site at the age of 80. Dear husband of Helen. Beloved father of Daniel. Will be sadly missed by brothers Alexander (Helen), Steve (Nadia), and granddaughter Katrina. Fondly remembered by many family and friends. Maksa Zagar

Unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga, surrounded by the love of her friends. Maksa’s now gone home to be with the Lord and join her beloved husband Mike. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Vera Zagar, Darinka Hrastar, Majda Podlogar and brothers-in-law Anton Zagar, Emile Zagar and their families, and her cousins Vladimir Vatovec, Lojze Magajna and their families. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Friday from 2 to 4pm & 7 to 9pm. Surrounded by her family, it is with great sadness they announce the passing of a wife and mother on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the age of 60. She is survived by her loving husband Martin and her 3 caring children Martin Jr., Andrej and Helen. She will be missed by her adoring sisters Vida and Margaret and their families.
