Peacefully, at The John M. Parrott Centre in Napanee on Monday, September 26, 2011. Marion Alton Blackett of Napanee at age 97. Beloved wife of the late Cecil Blackett and dear mother of John (Darlene) of Calgary; Janet Dickson (Thomas) of Napanee and the late Gerry Blackett. Mother-in-law of Dorothy Richardson (David) of Dundas. Grandmother of Robert of Calgary; Kelly Dombrowsky (Darren) and Jeff of Edmonton; Jillian (Jerrad) of Vancouver; Scott (Heather) of Toronto; Mark (Beth) of Kingston; Laura Clark (Robert) of Toronto; Linda Trbizan (David) of London and Deborah Ashton (Jonathan) and great-grandmother of Evie; Theo; Tilly; Max; Ashley; Hayden and Jordan. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Alberta and her many friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to her special caregiver Julie Butcher for her loving care and the staff at The John M. Parrott Centre. Suddenly, on Thursday, September 15, 2011. Matthew Chip Cassell, beloved husband of Kathleen Cassell (nee Murphy). Dear son of Woody and Jacqueline Cassell. Brother of Dale Cassell. Son-in-law of Dan and Elizabeth Murphy and brother-in-law of Jacqueline (Mark) and Sean and Ryan. Lovingly remembered by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. CLARK, Jean Marguerite

Nov. 1, 1923 – Sept. 16, 2011
After a long illness, our Mother peacefully made the transition from this life into Eternal Life. She was the beloved wife of the late Carl Clark (1994), and cherished mother of Sharon Patterson (the late Russ, 2005), Carol Rankin (Maurice), Faith Clark, Laurie Clark (Diana), Sylvia Mills (Dennis), and Jim Clark (Brenda). Loving and proud Grandmother of ten and Great-Grandmother of seventeen. Dear sister of June McMath (the late Mac), Donald Herrington (Margaret), Mary Smith (Morley) and sisters-in-law Georgina Herrington and Elizabeth McNally (the late Norman). Predeceased by brothers Bill and John Herrington and sister Marion Herrington. Our mother will be remembered for her devotion to family and her church. She loved to entertain and many have enjoyed her hospitality and excellent food. Our parents both enjoyed their four generations, and loved having grandchildren around them. They were also very fond of their large extended families. Mom made good use of her long distance telephone plan. Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling, and both found fulfillment in serving their church and community. The family will receive friends at the HANNAH FUNERAL HOME in Napanee (Wannamaker-Tierney Chapel) at 123 Dundas Street West (613-354-3341) on Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m., and on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service at Trinity United Church, Napanee on Tuesday, September 20 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation or Trinity United Church would be appreciated by the family.

BREEN, Sandra
Peacefully, at the Kingston General Hospital on Friday, September 16, 2011. Sandra Gail Breen (nee Thompson) of Enterprise at age 67. Beloved wife of Joe Breen and dear mother of Jackie Galt (Derek) of Cobourg; Leigh Breen (Lindsey Todd) and Charlotte Emmons of Enterprise. Loving grandmother of Taylor, Connor and Breeanna Galt; and Brandon and Karter Emmons. Daughter of the late Leigh and Irene Thompson. The family will receive friends at the HANNAH FUNERAL HOME in Tamworth on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Annunciation, Enterprise on Monday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Annunciation Cemetery. GILLIS, Elizabeth J. “Betty”

At home, on Friday September 9, 2011, at the age of 86. Betty Gillis of Napanee, beloved wife of the late Douglas H. Gillis and loving mother of Trueman (Yvonne), Shelley (Terry) and Greg (Brenda). Beloved sister of Doug (Marjorie) and the late Robert (Scotty). Loved by her grandchildren Ken (Meghan), Jennifer (Jeff), Nicole and Natasha (Mike), and her step-granddaughter Amy (Patrick). Proud great-grandmother to three. She will be missed by her family and friends. The family will receive friends at the HANNAH FUNERAL HOME in Napanee (Wannamaker-Tierney Chapel) 123 Dundas Street West (613-354-3341) on Tuesday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Wednesday, September 14 at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. For those who wish to, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the CNIB. LARSEN, Hans Peter
Nov 23, 1922–Sept. 7, 2011
At the Kingston General Hospital in his 89th year. Hans immigrated to Canada in 1951 from Denmark. He is predeceased by his parents Karen and Valdema Larsen, his sisters Gerda Petersen and Doris Hansen; and his brothers Sven; Richard and Paul Larsen. Survived by his brother George Larsen; Erna Poulson and Lise Christensen. Uncle of Vibeke Brooks (late Don), companion Jack Mead; Erna Loyst (Gary); Knud Petersen (Carol); Gunnar Petersen (Maureen); Connie Snudden (Ron) and many nieces and nephews in Denmark, Canada and the United States. Hans will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends. A Graveside Service will be held at the McDowall Memorial Cemetery in Sandhurst on Saturday, September 17 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kingston Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. In the care of Hannah Funeral Home in Napanee (613-354-3341).

Peacefully, at Providence Continuing Care Centre in Kingston, on Thursday, September 1, 2011. Helen Luella Ida Thompson of Napanee at age 92. Beloved wife of the late William A. Thompson. Loved and cherished mother of Arthur Thompson (Norma) of Napanee; Doreen Bell (late Lorne) of Enterprise; Marion Hartin (Larry) of Cloyne; Jean Asselstine (Doug) of Napanee and the late Donald (Agnes of Stirling). Helen will be missed by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Predeceased by her parents Irvin and Mae Lemon and her sister Edna Foote. Grandfather of Ryan and Cody Pietrangeli and great-grandfather of Austin and Hailey.
