Date of Death: November 2nd 2003
COOK, Daniel (long time employee of Alloy Wheels) passed away suddenly at home in Oro Station, on Sunday November 2, 2003. Beloved husband of the late Barbara Cook nee-Cambourne. Dear father of Karen Ruyter (William), Lenora (Darrien Healey) and Daymond. Grampa to Amanda, Emilee, Collin, Tyler, Shelbey and Rainna. Dear brother of Carl Cook and Lynn Noel. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM Funeral Home, Clapperton and Worsley Streets, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday November 7, 2003 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Lung Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.

COOK - At LHG Mitton St., Sarnia on November 27, 2003, ELIZABETH 'BETTY' PAULINE (TRINACTY) COOK, age 83, of Sarnia, wife of the late Ernest 'Robert' Cook. Dear mother of Robert Andrew Cook and friend Lorraine Buchner of Sarnia. Born in Czechoslovakia on August 1, 1920, she was the daughter of Alzbeta and Mikulas Trinacty. Her family emigrated to Canada in the 1920's and farmed in the Blenheim/Chatham area for many years. Betty married Robert Sr. in 1950 and in 1959 the family moved to Sarnia and they owned and operated Cook's Coffee Shop downtown in the 1960's. She also worked at Bud's Gift Shop at Oak Acres and was a long time employee of the Sarnia Gazette. Betty was an avid gardener and cat lover. She was predeceased by sisters Pauline Trinacty, Frances Pistils and Mary Psik and brothers Tony, Bart, John, Frank and Anthony Trinacty. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. then to Hinnegan - Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. South, Chatham for visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m.Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church. Interment St. Anthony's cemetery , Chatham. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Victorian Order of Nurses, 1705 London Line, Sarnia. N7W 1B2. Cook, Gordon At Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Sunday, November 2, 2003. Joseph Gordon Cook of Owen Sound in his 87th year. Husband of the late Helen (nee Bumstead). Brother-in-law of Muriel Kivell, Eva and her husband Percey Cranney, Aleda Bumstead-Brown and her husband Bus and Shirley Bumstead all of Owen Sound. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Jean Morrison and his brothers-in-law Kitchener Kivell, Leslie Bumstead, Rae Bumstead and Duncan Morrison. The funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Tannahill Funeral Home, 376-3710 on Tuesday, November 4th at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Ruth Howlett officiating. Visitation two hours prior to service time. Interment in Greenwood cemetery , Owen Sound. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Massie United Church.

Dear mother of the late Danny Cooper, Edward and his wife Carol, Oakville and John and his wife Valerie, Hundred Mile House, B.C. Mother-in-law of Patricia Cooper, London. Grandmother of Serena, Derek, Craig, Ryan and Chad. Great-grandmother of Victoria, Oakville. Sister of Edward Straub and his wife Cathy, and Elsie Franchuk and her husband Mike all of Sarnia. Cousin of Pearl McCharles and her son Delroy, Sydney, N.S. Predeceased by parents Walter and Tekla Straub and grandson Trevor. Jessie worked for the Lambton County Board of Education for 28 years. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Panakhyda 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Monday at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1055 Rosedale Ave., Sarnia. Interment Our Lady of Mercy cemetery. Beloved wife of Thomas Coté of Sarnia. Predeceased by first husband Richard Doyle (1971). Cherished mother of Stephen and wife Carol of Cochrane, Ont. Loving grandchildren Margaret (Eric) Strisovich, Robert (Sandra) Doyle all of Hornepayne, Ont., Susan (Shawn) Lapierre, Timmins, Ont., Nancy (Lincoln) Peever, Englehart, Ont., Jordan Doyle, Cochrane, Ont. and 8 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her loving mother Mary Kelly, London, brothers Jerome (Theresa) Kelly, Mitchell, Ont., Tom (Margaret) Kelly, Jim (Jean) Kelly, and Dan (Madeline) Kelly all of London, sisters Grace (Robert) Smith, London and Mae (Pat) Feeney of Tillsonburg. Predeceased by her father Jack Kelly and sister Margaret Quinlan, both of London. Jean was a lifetime member of the Women's Auxilliary of the Royal Canadian Naval Association of Sarnia. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8 p.m. Mass of Christiian Burial 11 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2003 at St. Peter's Church. EDDINGTON, ANNE LOUISE (Ret'd Trust Officer - National Trust) peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hosptial on Friday, October 10th, 2003; in her 60th year. Anne Eddington, of Orillia, beloved daughter of the late Frederick E. Eddington and Helen Mary Eddington (nee, Jackson). Loving companion of Donald J. Davis of Orillia. Anne will be lovingly remembered by many cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul's United Church, 62 Peter St., N., Orillia on Thursday afternoon, October 16th at 1 o'clock. Interment was held earlier at St. Andrew's - St. James' cemetery , Orillia. If desired, Memorial Donations to the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.

DUNCAN - At L.H.G. Mitton St., Sarnia on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, JESSIE MARGARET (MILLER) DUNCAN, age 90 of Corunna. Born in Moore Twp., she was the daughter of the late William Walter Miller and Margaret Lula Wright. Jessie worked as an accounting clerk and comptometer operator at Imperial Oil Ltd. and Polymer and later in the office at Manley's. Jessie was predeceased by her beloved husband Harvey James Duncan in 1994. She was a member of Central United Church where she was a long time Explorer and C.G.I.T. leader as well as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent, a 70 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and member of Pensioners Concerned. She and her late husband volunteered as reading assistants for children in the Corunna schools. Loving mother of son Allen Duncan, Fort Myers, FL, daughter Margaret Duncan-Levy and husband James Levy, Burt, MI. Dear grandmother of Laurie Barr and husband Dennis, Mesa, Arizona, Michelle Owen and husband Theodore, Midland, MI, Kim Digby and husband Robert, Cape Coral, FL, Kathryn Duncan, Fort Myers, FL, Kelly Duncan, Asheville, NC. Fondly remembered by Marian Duncan, Cashiers, NC. Cherished great-grandmother of Nicholas and Holly Barr, Gabrielle, Megan and Theodora Owen, Daniel, Brent and Timothy Digby. Dear sister of Bruce Miller and his wife Eleanor, Burlington, ON. Lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Lovingly remembered by seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents the late Morris and Catherine Hickey, an infant daughter Mary and a son-in-law Doug Reid.
