Abraham, Almaida - In loving memory of Almaida Luciana Abraham (Mother) who passed away peacefully at Centenary Hospital on Friday, October 20, 2006, surrounded by her family. Almaida is survived by her daughter Myrna Horne and sisters Estelle Hodge (nee Abraham Barker) of St. Martin and Carmen Williams of Toronto. Mother will be forever loved by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Family and friends may call at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Agincourt from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m. at Christ Church, 155 Markham Road. Sgt. Craig Paul Gillam - April 20, 1966 - October 3, 2006 - The family of the late Craig Gillam wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to those who helped ease the pain caused by the sudden passing of a wonderful man. Thank you to those who sent food, cards, flowers, donations to charities along with the children's trust fund and everyone's kind words. Special thanks go out to Capt. Brian LePack, Padre Lambert, Ron Whitehall, and Stan Poirier and all the soldiers from Petawawa, Gagetown and Corner Brook who have helped support the family. ABRAHAM, Lizzie Chelvamany (nee Nicholas) - passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2006 in Toronto at the age of 86 years, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Tommy Abraham and mother of Bala Abraham, Nirmala Christine Theivendra and Irene Sathiadevi Manoharan and mother-in-law of Thiru Abraham, Rasiah Theivendra and Manoharan Selvaratnam. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Roshan and Shanika Abraham and Dileeni Abraham, Wiji Leonard Theivendra, Larraine Tanuja and Ajayan Kadirgamar, Anusha and Dirome Anthony and Samantha Manoharan and great-grandson Arjuna. She was the youngest daughter of the late Chinnadurai Nicholas and Kanmani of Sri Lanka, and the last surviving member as a sister of her large family of brothers Julius Nicholas, Ponnudurai Nicholas, Blake Nicholas, Walter Nicholas, Bernard Nicholas, and Victor Nicholas and sisters Mrs. Kanagaratnam, Mrs. Nagamuthu, Mrs. Sinnatamby and Mrs. Angela Rajadurai. Friends and family will be received at Highland Funeral Home, 3280 Sheppard Ave. E. (at Warden) on Monday, November 13 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Tuesday, November 14 at 10:30 a.m.

Loving aunt of Robin Abraham, Robert Hudyma, Stephen Paul Hudyma, the late Stephen Abraham, and sister-in-law of William Hudyma. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. ACCARDI, Evelyn (nee Levinter) - passed away in Naples, Florida on Tuesday, November 21, 2006. Dear wife of the late Steve. Loving mother of Jackie Mena and Steve Jr., and grandmother of two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. Cherished sister of Edythe Abron, Florence Valensky, Murray (Adrienne) Levinter of Toronto, and Molly Zorn of Boynton Beach, Florida. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Burial was held in Florida.

ACHESON, Kathryn Hanley - In Toronto on November 29, 2006, in her hundredth year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Irving. Dearly loved mother of Margot (John), Catherine (Connie) and Shelley (Terry). Cherished grandmother of Michael, Andrea, Megan, Kieran, Andrew and Patrick. Fondly remembered by her Wall cousins and three nieces. A woman of many interests  highly literate, political junkie, marvellous dancer and accomplished pianist. ABRAHAM, Marjorie J. - Died peacefully at Mount Sinai Hospital on November 23rd, 2006 in her 92nd year. Marjorie was a longtime resident of Swansea (Toronto) and until recently took an active interest in the history of that village. She was the beloved daughter of William and Flossie Abraham and the sister of the late Dennis. She leaves cousins Joy Boblitt of Virginia, Reverend Canon Beverley Brightling of Toronto, John Brightling of Listowel, Dolly Burgen and Betty Taylor both of London England, as well as many other relatives and friends. Her happy disposition will be missed by all who knew her. There will be a private service at the gravesite at a later date. Notice of the time and place will be announced in this paper. ACAL-ASSAD, Louise - passed away peacefully on December 2, 2006 at Unionvilla, in her 90th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Ernest and her brother David. Loving mother to Ted and his wife Anita, Bonnie, and Brodie and his wife Kathleen. Caring grandmother to Alana (Chris), Nicholas and Jared. Survived by her brother Philip and sisters Jenny and Alice. ABBOTT, Janice - passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Thursday, November 30, 2006. Janice will be sadly missed by Duncan, her husband of 50 years, her children, Dawn (Donald), David (Karen), Stephanie (predeceased), her grandchildren, Lindsey (Curtis), Shannon (James), Blake, Deanna, Brianne, Candice, Blair, Jamie (Bryan) and her great-grandchildren, Cole, Gina, Bailey, Kayla and Ava. Private family service to take place. Services entrusted to Peaceful Transition Inc., Barrie.

BOYLE, Jim - On December 3, 2006, Jim Boyle died at the Englehart and District Hospital, at the age of 57. He was born in Toronto and lived in Elk Lake for 32 years. Jim served as an Ontario Provincial Police Officer for 30 years. He is survived by his loving wife Pauline, whom he was married to for 31 years; his children Jim, Julie-Anne and Michael; son-in-law Benjie Roy and grandchildren Chloe and Manon. He is also survived by his mother Monica Boyle, brothers Brian, John, Gerry and Leonard; sisters Teresa and Mary; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his father James K. Boyle. The funeral was arranged by McDonald Funeral Home in Englehart with the Funeral Mass celebrated at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Englehart on Saturday, December 9th at 11:00 a.m. Father Gilles Leblanc officiating. Spring interment will take place at the Elk Lake Catholic cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Elk Lake Fire Department or charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

BONIFACE, James Robert - February 21, 1936  December 12, 2006 Beloved husband and best friend of Jean (nee Sprigg) for nearly 50 years. Dear Dad of Jim (Cheryl), Jody (Keith) and Janice (Wayne). Cherished Grandpa of Gordon (Cassie), Kyle, Erin, Bradley, Corey, Kelly and Daniel; Great Grandpa of MacKenzie. Jim was a retired 30 year veteran of the Etobicoke Fire Department. With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away peacefully. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. You fought so hard to stay with us. You tired when a cure was not to be. We would never wish you back, to suffer that again. We admired your courage throughout this battle. Watch over us who loved you, until we meet again. AUBREY, Frank William - In his 79th year passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Scarborough General Hospital. He will sadly be missed by his two daughters, his son Richard and daughter-in-law Sonya, grandchildren, great-grand children, extended family members and friends. At the deceased's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family memorial service will be held. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Extendicare Scarborough for truly making a difference.

BURTON, Cleve - Entered into rest at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, in his 87th year. John Cleve Burton of Woodville, formerly of Thornhill, was the beloved husband of Joyce Robbie. Loving father of Paul of Toronto, Marilyn (Mark) Benadiba of Toronto and Joanne (Stevan) Toljagic of Toronto. Dearly remembered by grandchildren Jan, Joanna, Jordan, Mark Jr., Savanna and Ryan, sisters Betty Ruddick and Carol Langford and brothers Ray, Harry and Gary. Predeceased by his sister Bonnie Campbell. Bone, and dear mother of Sandra and her husband Peter Dunec of Queensville, Barbara and her husband John Wiman of Newmarket, and Elizabeth Bone and her husband Jerry Daminato of Guelph. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Debra Smietana, Douglas, David, and Dwayne Dunec, Lesley and Shelley Wiman and great-grandchildren Sarah Stachewicz, Jeffery, David and Meredith Smietana, Cassandra and Christina Dunec, Quinn and Carson Mamo and Mitchell Dunec. Great-great-grandmother of Ava Stachewicz. Predeceased by her brother Leslie Gray and her sister Lucy Booth. DR. HUGH OTTER BARBER - Dearly loved husband of Joyce Barber, died December 14th, 2006 at the age of 83 years, at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He will be missed by his children Ann, Kathie and Harry (Scott) as well as his grandchildren Amanda, Emily, Adam, Sam, Matt, Elizabeth and Laura and great-grandchild David. His true loves in his life were his family and medicine. Hugh really enjoyed guiding and teaching young doctors at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto. Hugh was the head of the ENT Department at Sunnybrook for many years. He loved the challenge and association with NASA and the Space Shuttle program involving research into dizziness. He was a top expert in his field of medicine. Hugh was recognized and respected throughout the world and received many accolades. Finally and the most important, Hugh was married to Joyce for 60 wonderful years. Friends may call at the TRULL "NORTH TORONTO CHAPEL" FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 2704 Yonge St. (5 blocks south of Lawrence Ave.) on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 11 o'clock. BUTTERFIELD, Frank James - Peacefully at Princess Margaret Hospital on Friday, June 29th, 2007. Dearly loved husband of Vicki and father of Susannah. Survived by his big brother Jack (Winnie) and baby sister Meg (Cliff). Uncle Jimmy was loved by many nieces and nephews. Jim was born in Ponoka, Alberta on February 14th, 1936. He gave up his career in communications in 1981 to take on the role he most loved - Computer Guru Extraordinaire to a host of geeks and non-geeks drawn to the world of Commodore Computers. A private funeral has taken place and a celebration of Jim's life will be announced later in the summer. If you wish, you may remember Jim with a donation to your favourite charity.
