DUNCAN: William Tom (WWII Veteran, 4th armoured division) - peacefully at his home in Washago on Tuesday, January 6, 2004, in his 84th year. Bill, beloved husband of Olga (nee Frankovitch). Dear father of Allan and wife Pat of Washago, Robert of Orillia, the late Gary and his surviving spouse Muriel. Loving grandfather of Kyley, Jason, Noel and fiance Amanda, Colin and wife Jody, and great grandfather of Jordan and Cooper. Brother of Thomas Duncan of Washago and brother-in-law of Robert Scott and Dennis Monk. Predeceased by sisters Marjorie Scott, Lillian Bolton and husband Phillip, Dorothy Monk and brothers James, Alexander and wife Marjorie and Arthur and wife Doris. Bill will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Bill's wishes, cremation will be followed by a memorial service at a later date. Details will be published at that time. In leiu of flowers, donations made to the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital would be gratefully appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home, Orillia.

Former Classics lecturer at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, March 9th, 2003, in hospital, Frances McLean Geekie. Beloved and loving wife of the late Maj. Gilbert Mitchell Geekie, Jr. Cherished mother of Scott Gilbert McLean (Margaret James) and Mary Frances McCallum (Robert) of Ottawa. Proud and adored grandmother of Christopher David and Steven Mitchell James, and Rachel Marie and Evan Mitchell McCallum. Dear sister of Dorothy Campbell of Rockwood, Ontario, and Harold McLean (Doreen) of Niton Junction, Alberta. Special sister-in-law to Margaret Curtis (Al) of Montreal, and Eleanor Brennan (Jim) of Corunna, Ontario. Loving daughter of the late Georgina May Clifford of Wiarton, Ontario, and the late Cyril Hardy McLean of Brechin, Ontario. Fondly remembered and sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road, at Roosevelt, Ottawa, on Tuesday March 11 2003, and Wednesday from, 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Funeral at St. Patrick's Church, Fallowfield Village, 15 Steeple Hill Cr., on Thursday, March 13th, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. Cremation. Dear son of the late Ezra and Gerturde Bailey. Loving father of Sharon Leckie and husband Morley, Windsor; Judy Foster, Belle River; Brad Bailey and wife Lynn, Brian Bailey and wife Margaret, all of Leamington; Bill Bailey and wife Doreen, Wheatley. Cherished grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 24. Dear brother of Ada Ives, Leamington. Predeceased by granddaughter Tauscha Foster, and sister Toots Robinson. Also survived by sister-in-law Shirley Colenut and her late husband Floyd, Leamington; brothers-in-law Jack Sumner and wife Mina, Leamington; Russ Corlett and his late wife Jean, Wheatley. Harold was the founder of H & H Upholstery and a long time member of the Wheatley Lions Club. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street, Leamington on Sunday, from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to celebrate Harold’s life, from the funeral home on Monday, December 29, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. Linda Blair and Rev. Codd: Ronald Herbert

CODD, Ronald "Ron" Herbert of Simcoe, on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at Norfolk General Hospital in the loving presence of his family. Ron, in his 64th year, fought a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband of Anne (Ratz) of Simcoe. Much loved step Dad and best friend of Ed Ratz and his companion Kate McPherson of Toronto, Randy Ratz of Simcoe, Joanne Ratz (the late Jim "Moose" Adamson) of Port Ryerse and Denise Rewutzsky (Ratz) and her companion Wayne McBurney of Caledonia and Danny Rewutzsky of Simcoe. Cherished papa to Ryan, Dominik and Ella, also special papa to Krystle, Keela and MacKenzie, Jesse and Jake and Lindsay, Candice and Drew. Survived by brother Victor Codd and sister Irene Arnold. Ron will be fondly remembered by his nephews Wayne, Gary and John and their families. Ron was employed by Queensway Tire for 20 years and Freemans Tire 19 years. Ron, a very gentle, quiet man, had a true loving spirit that will be remembered by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. A time of remembrance with Ron's family will take place on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at the THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (583-1530) from 11 am - 1 pm, followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at 1 pm. Rev. Rob Parr officiating. For those wishing memorial donations to the Diabetes Association or Canadian Cancer Society would be kindly acknowledged.

Darisi: Alfredo

In memory of ALFREDO DARISI At the age of 75, ALFREDO DARISI passed away on December 11, 2003. He was surrounded by all his family. Born in Italy, and always an adventurer, he emigrated to Canada in 1956. Alfredo lived with his family in Windsor, Sault Ste Marie, Camlachie and Sarnia. He was a skilled machinist at Esso Chemical, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Veneto Club, Windsor. Alfredo will be remembered for his hard work and unconditional devotion to his family. He leaves his beloved wife of 51 years, Milena, his children and their families; Moreno and Gail, Jimmy and Bonnie, Laura and Marco, Brenda and Gaspare, Paul and Krista. He was a loving Nonno to Tanya and Michael, Jason, Michael, Vincent and Brittney; Melissa, Trisha, Mitchell, Daniel and Gessica; Nicco and Garett and Bisnonno to Pascale. In Italy sister Elvira, brothers Sergio and Vittorio. Predeceased by parents Umberto and Teresa and brother Andrea. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, Saturday 4-7 and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8 p.m. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter’s Church. Entombment Our Lady of Mercy Mausoleum. In memory of Alfred, donations may be sent to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 415 Exmouth St., Sarnia N7T 8A4 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 118 N. Victoria St., Sarnia N7T 5W9.

Eacott: Alfred Albert

Date of Death: December 14th 2003
EACOTT, Alfred Albert – It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Alfred on Sunday, December 14, 2003 at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie with his family by his side. Alfred Eacott in his 86th year, loving husband of Audrey Eacott of Barrie. He will be dearly missed by his son Gary Eacott and his wife Heather of Barrie, and his daughter-in-law Betty Eacott of Oro Station. Predeceased by his son John Eacott. Loved and respectfully missed by his grandchildren Darrell and his wife Kristann, Kristopher and Benjamin. He is also survived by his sister Ruth and her husband Norm Burrow and their family and predeceased by sister Edith and her husband Bill Vickers. At Alfred’s request cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will be held at Grace United Church, Grove St., Barrie on Friday, December 19th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Barrie and District Association for People with Special Needs, Grace United Church or the charity of your choice, through the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, Clapperton and Worsley St., Barrie.

Griffin: Alvin E. 84 years passed away suddenly on December 21, 2003 at the Leamington District Memorial Hospital. A late resident of Cottam. Loving husband of 63 years to Evelyn (nee Cushman). Devoted and loving father to Ron and Maureen Griffin of London and Karen Manley of Wheatley. Proud grandfather to Tracey Griffin, Brent Griffin and fiancé Kathleen Dadson, Lisa Manley and her fiancé Jamie Thomas and Chris Manley. Great-grandfather to Devon Griffin, Darien Griffin, Bailey Griffin, Raven Clark, Zachary and Sarah Dadson. Survived by his brother Ivan Griffin and sister Beulah Lefevre and her husband Bud. Pre-deceased by his brothers Bill and Murray along with his sisters Gladys Mackenzie and Frances White. Alvin was a retired employee of the Weston Bakery in Essex and was a Past President of the Essex County Plowman’s Association and also a member of the Essex County Federation of Agriculture. Visiting at the Stewart L. Kennedy Funeral Home 128 Talbot St. N. Essex (776-7378) on Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held in the funeral home on Wednesday December 24, 2003 at 11 a.m. Rev. Stephen Jones officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park, Leamington. In kindness memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Leamington District Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

GUNNING: Ruby (nee Doan) 85 years, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on December 14, 2003, at the Leamington Nursing Home. A late resident of Essex. Beloved wife of the late Chester (1990). Dear mother to Wayne & his wife Katherine, Dorothy & her husband Robert Brown, and mother-in-law to Donald Chartier. Predeceased by her daughter Nancy Chartier (2002) Proud grandmother to Sandra, Connie, Michelle, Craig, Erik, Brandon, Steven; and great-grandmother to Andy and Alex. Ruby will also be dearly missed by her sister-in-lawJeanette Doan. Predeceased by her brothers Gerald, Archie, Stanley, Gordon, Richard and also her sister Florence. Ruby was a former employee of the Post Office Grill and former owner of Ruby's Coffee Shop in Essex in the 1960's. Ruby was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 201, Essex Ladies Auxillary. Visiting at the Stewart L Kennedy Funeral Home, 128 Talbot St. N., Essex (776-7378) on Tuesday from 2 - 5 PM, and 7 - 9 PM. Frederick Harrison of Orillia, beloved husband of Florence Harrison. Loving father of Florence, Faith, Chuck, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The late Mr. Frederick Harrison will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St.,N., Orillia from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Sunday. Funeral service in the chapel Monday morning, December 29th at 11 A.M.. Interment ; Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Scarborough, Monday afternoon, at 2:30 P.M.. If desired, memorial donations to the OSPCA, Orillia Branch would be appreciated.

Dear mother of Arnold Harron of Guelph, Ronald Harron and his wife Marg of Port Elgin, Larry Harron and his wife Shirleen of Guelph and Bev Harron and his wife Lillie of Owen Sound. Special Mum to Brian and Burton McReavy. Lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Predeceased by one daughter Joyce and her husband Harold McReavy, her parents Albert and Gertrude Trowbridge two brothers, Sydney and Charles and one sister Nellie. Friends are invited to the Tannahill Funeral Home, 376- 3710 for visiting on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Hillcrest cemetery , Tara.
