Ellis, Norah - Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, March 27, 2003. Beloved wife of Glyn for 68 years. Devoted mother of Jane (Jim) Wemyss, and Jim (Laurene). Grandma of Kelly, Kathryn, Mark, Kim and Dina and Great Grandma of Kara, Kristine, Devon, Michael and Matthew. A private family service was held in the King City Cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre, especially Dr. Murray Weingarten and the staff on the 4th floor west for their caring and kindness during this trying time. In Norah s memory, donations made to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by her family. Arrangements entrusted to the Thompson Funeral Home, Aurora, (905-727-5421).

Hodgson, Jeffrey - (Bradford West Gwillimbury Firefighter) - Suddenly at Sunnybrook Health Centre, Toronto, on Thursday, March 27, 2003. Jeff Hodgson of Bradford in his 27th year. Beloved husband of Fran (Bianchi). Loving son of John and Linda Hodgson. Loving son-in-law of Peter and Richardis Bianchi. Dear brother of Mike and his wife Tammy, and Steve. Dear brother-in-law of Julie and her husband Greg Thoms, and Roz and her husband Joe Lotto. Cherished grandson of Gord and Doris Church. Loving uncle of Chase and Christopher. Schulz, Martin Franz - Suddenly, while on vacation in Barbados on Friday, March 21st, 2003 in his 69th year. Martin, beloved husband of Beryl and loving father of Nadja and her husband Jose Martinez and Wolfgang and his wife Kathy. Devoted Opa of Gabriela and Joseph Martinez and Jeremy and Luke Schulz. He will be lovingly remembered by the rest of his family and friends, especially family companion Seina Allen. Friends will be received at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street North (Hwy 48), Markham on Friday, April 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m Complete service in the Chapel on Saturday, April 5th at 11 a.m. Cremation. Schofield, Lucille Elizabeth (nee Hardman) - Beloved wife of Eric for 61 years, passed away peacefully at home with Eric and daughters at her side on Friday, March 28, 2003. Born March 13, 1920 in Galt, Ontario. Loving mother of Darby (Art), Mary Jane (Brian), and Lucy Ann (Garry). Dear grandmother to Dan (Melanie), Lisa (Doug), Tracey (Jason), Chris, Alex, Doug, Scott (Cindy), Laura, Keith. Great-grandmother to Jenna and Connor, and special friend to Dominic. Lovingly remembered by brother Allan (aka Cobb) and his wife Sophie, nephew Allan Jr. and his wife Paula and their sons Ryan, James and Matt, and niece Robin. Her life was filled with many blessings as she contributed to 30 years of church work at St. Nicholas Anglican Church in Scarborough and 15 years of community service to seniors in Markham. Pollock Jerald (Jerry) Roy - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their father Jerry Pollock in his 81st year. On March 30, 2003, Jerry left us to be with the Lord after a brief illness at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto. He is predeceased by his wife Dorothy Pearl May (nee Dolley), his sister Reva and his brother Bob. Lovingly remembered by his companion and best friend Dorothy Walker. Sadly missed by his family Eula and Norm Goodhead, Doreen Pollock, John Sims, Florence Foote and John Keeler. He will be dearly missed by his daughters and sons Sandra and Bob Martin, Beverly and Blair Coles, Roy Pollock and Kellie Darnley, Brenda and Chuck Cromie, Barry and Alison Pollock. Proud Grandfather of Rob, Clint, Anthony, Joanna, Alexandra, Sydney and Great Grandfather of Sara and Duncan. Honouring Jerry s wishes there will not be a funeral service. Jerry s life will be celebrated in May at a Memorial Service at the Knox United Church, Sutton, Ontario. The details will be announced closer to the date.

Dear mother of Donna and her husband Gordon Monk of Minden and Roger Lockie of Pefferlaw. Loving grandmother of Cameron Monk and his wife Liz, Kirsten and her husband Barry Cray, Sean Lockie and his wife Gidget, Jason Lockie, and Robin and her husband Kris Morris. Robert Eldon of Newmarket, beloved husband of Ada Florence Eldon (nee Griffin) and dear father of Gerald and his wife Christine of Chatham, Desmond and his wife Joanne of Toronto, Kevin also of Toronto and the late Thomas and Brian. Proud grandfather of Jennifer, Benjamin, Amanda, Jason, Ashley, Jessica and Jonathan. Funeral service was held at the Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket, on Monday at 2 p.m. with visitation for two hours prior to the service. Interment followed at St. John's Cemetery.

STEWART, Kathryn - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her very close friends, on Monday, November 6, 2006 at Markham- Stouffville Hospital at age 56, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her parents Doris and Duncan Stewart and her brother Jimmy. Survived by her brother Bill. Kathy was a dedicated employee of IBM Canada for over 30 years. She touched many lives with her friendship and generous nature. She was passionate about her volunteer work for Markham Theatre and Participation House, where she was loved by all who knew her. Kathy will be especially missed by her three chosen girls: Kristin, Katrina and Jill. Visitation was held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Wednesday, November 8th at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Ave (4 lights north of Hwy 7) Markham 905-305-8508. A Memorial Service was held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, November 9th at 2 pm, followed by a reception. Private cremation & interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Participation House, Markham in Kathy s memory, would be appreciated.

TURNER, Leonard James - in Nanaimo, B.C. at the age of 93. Survived by his beloved wife Rose, his sister Dora, his daughters June (Cliff), and Wendy (Bruce); his grandchildren, Peter (Ngaire), Wendy (George), Stuart, Ian, Beric (Diane), and Alison (Kris); his great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Geoffrey, Beric, Rowan, Gareth, Shaughnessy, Hunter, Christopher and Jenna. Pre-deceased by sister Antoinette. "Where you go our hearts will follow after." Len lived a long and rich life. The love he and his darling Rose shared was truly inspiring. We will miss most his gentle presence, his smile, his stories and jokes, and the twinkle in his eye. Len and Rose lived on their cherished "Hidden Valley Farm" just north of Newmarket from 1962 until 1982. They then traveled, until finally settling in Nanaimo, B.C. in 1984. Len s ashes are interred at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar, B.C. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or your favourite wilderness conservation charity. Goodnight Sweetheart.
