Loving father of Debbie Stewart of Bowmanville and Allan Stewart and his wife Nora of Whitby and the late Wayne Stewart (Janet) of Port Hope. Cherished grandfather of Dana, Sean, Jamie, Michael, Jeffrey, Heather and Krista Stewart. Dear brother of Meville and his wife Margaret, Iverson and his wife Myrtle, Mona Kirkwood (the late Bill), John and his wife Isabel, Bill and his wife Dianne, Ellen McQuestion (the late Floyd), Winston and his wife Helen all of Deep River, Jean Berry (the late Jack) of Cobden and Monty and his wife Karen of Pembroke. Predeceased by 5 brothers Gordon (Margaret), Daniel, Ronald (Neirdre), Deb (Marion) and Robert Stewart. Friends called at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. VOLLMER, Alice Mary (Ringrose)

Suddenly and unexpectedly at home, age 82, on Tuesday, 25 March 2003, Alice Vollmer of Ottawa and Deep River. Beloved wife of Harold. Loving mother of Brian (Hanna), Robin (Cathy), Chris (Joanne). Cherished grandma of Mark, Luc, Matt, and Agata. Alice was active and independent to the very end. She taught us all so much about kindness, compassion, generosity, and tolerance. Fondly remembered by many friends and relatives worldwide. A memorial service will be held at Kanata United Church, 33 Leacock Drive, on Saturday, 24 May 2003, 4:30 pm, with reception to follow in the church hall. Donations to a Humane Society or other animal welfare charity would be gratefully appreciated.

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a difficult illness on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital, Brockville; the former Mary-Ellen McDonald, a native of Renfrew, at the age of 70 years. Beloved mother of Brenda Peever of Ottawa, Patrick Leslie (Tammy) of Calgary, and Kevin Leslie (Penny) of Prescott. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Sandra, Katherine, Jennifer and Danielle Peever, Samantha and Paige Leslie. Dear sister of Elizabeth Stewart of Nepean and loving aunt of Susan, Sherry and Stephen. Predeceased by her husband John Leslie, her parents Patrick and Viola McDonald, and her brother-in-law Rod Stewart. Family and friends paid their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville where a service in celebration of Mary-Ellen's life was held on Saturday, June 7th. Cremation followed at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium with interment at Union Cemetery, Port Hope at a later date. Suddenly on Saturday, June 7, 2003. Joseph Desautels age 38 years. Beloved husband of Rosi Desautels. Dear son of Hazel and the late Joseph Desautels Sr. Cherished father of Audrey, Francisco and Christian Desautels all of Point Alexander. Dear brother of Joan of Wakefield, Steven of Rolphton, Jane of Ottawa, Douglas and Gail Desautels both of Deep River, and Leona (Mrs. Rev. Philip Morley) of Pembroke. Predeceased by a brother Gregory Desautels. Dear son-in-law of Antonia Rivera de la Rosa and Gilberdo Nigenda Lopez. Loving brother-in-law of Jamie, Uriel, Sandra and Gloricela Nigenda Rivera all of Mexico. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. CYRIL (CY) ARNIL CRAWFORD
February 17, 1920 - June 5, 2003

Cy passed away at the Victoria Hospital on Thursday, June 5, 2003 with his
family at his side. He leaves Lucy, his wife of 54 years, their children Susan (James Young), Alice (Michael Franzmann) and Stephen together with grandchildren Janet, Nancy and Andrew Young and Erica and Neale Franzmann.
Cy was born and raised in Edmonton. He served with the R.C.A.F. in WWII, on Flying Boats in Britain and Madagascar. Upon his return to civilian life he graduated with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. His working life was with Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. in Chalk River, ON and Whiteshell, MB. He worked for Consulting Engineering firms in Winnipeg and then started his own business, Manitou Manufacturing Co. Ltd. which he sold when he retired in 1989. He was an innovative design engineer with tremendous enthusiasm. Whatever was mechanical he understood it, including the working of his own heart, which he considered an intricate pump. Since retirement his health deteriorated but he and Lucy travelled some and enjoyed life in their penthouse condo. The family invite friends and colleagues to share stories of "The Legendary Cy Crawford" at a gathering at 1:00pm Thursday, June 12 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
