Lacroix, Armand
February 26, 1913 - August 19, 2002

passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital. Predeceased by his first wife Yvette Lefebvre, his second wife Laurette Delorme, his son Gérard and many brothers, sisters and in-laws. He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Thérèse Thompson (Bill), Madeleine Lefebvre (the late Léo) and Suzanne Robinson (Pasquale Ricciuti). Father-in-law to Dwayne Robinson (Ninon) and Germaine Lepage-Lacroix. Step-father of Jeannine, Suzanne, Normand and Colette (Delorme). Dear grandfather of 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his siblings: Rose Parisien (Armand), Lucille Cléroux (Adrien) and Aurèle Lacroix and his in-laws: René Potvin, Irène Casault, Laurette Lefebvre, Lorraine De Geer and Carmen Lacroix. Visitation at Heritage Funeral Home, 2871 St-Joseph Blvd., Orleans, on Friday, August 23rd, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Funeral Service will follow at St-Joseph Church, 2757 St. Joseph Blvd., Orléans at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Center or Elisabeth Bruyère Pavillion.

Simard, Yves

passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 18, 2002, at the age of 58 years. Son of the late George Simard and the late Madeleine Lemieux. Tragically, on Monday, Oct. 7, at the age of 24. Beloved son of John Peter Albert and Kathy Albert, cherished brother of Krystal and soulmate of Brooke Girard. Loving grandson of Fern and the late Randy MacLean, Roger and the late Jeanne Albert. Dear nephew of Nicole Laurin (Robert), Denis (Kristine), Ron (Wendy), Claude (Karen), Lise Dixon (Dean), Danny (Kelly) and Trisha Nesbit (Wade). Scoggan, John

In Peru, after achieving his dream of visiting Cuzco, on Monday, Sept. 30 at the age of 57 years. Dearly beloved husband of Shamiso Manyozo-Scoggan and loving and devoted father of Hailey Tafadzwa (Taffy). He will be sadly missed by his sister Elizabeth Bradley (the late Robert) and brother Hugh Scoggan (Lynda Hudgins), his nephews and nieces Christopher (Akiko), Charlotte (Zoltan), Julia (Sherali), Kylie (Hannes) and Kevin (Stephanie); also his great-nephew Karver and great-nieces Sakura and Abrie. His sudden passing was met with great sadness by his mother-in-law Erinah Manyozo, sister-in-law Irene (Best) brother-in-law Phillip and many nephews and nieces in Zimbabwe. He will be deeply missed by friends and colleagues at CARE Canada where he practised the passion of his life. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate John's life which was devoted to his family and to helping others. Nag, Ranjan

With deepest sadness, we announce the sudden death of Ranjan Nag, 49, on Thursday, Nov. 28. He was an exemplary person who touched the lives of everyone in the most loving way. He was the best husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend one could have had. Ranjan is survived by his wife, Mala, his son, Romith and an extremely close knit family. passed away on Jan. 19 at the age of 87 . He is survived by his beloved wife Hélène (Bournival) Letellier after 62 years of marriage, his three sons Michel (France Lacoursière), Marc, Yves (Lucie Gratton) and his twin daughters Danielle (Frank Genesee) and Thérèse ( François Reid), together with 13 grand children and 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one grandson, Alain. He will be deeply missed by his sisters Marguerite Letellier and Lucienne Byrne and his brother Roger Letellier (Irène Boivin) and also his sisters-in-law Carmen Lajoie Letellier (Jean-Marc) and Mary Fowler Letellier (Pierre). Colonel Letellier was born in Ottawa on the July 20, 1915 and obtained, in 1934, his Commission as an Officer with the Regiment de Hull. In 1939, he enlisted in the regular Army and was sent to England in 1942 to be part of the 4th Armoured Division. At the end of the War, he was stationed with the 1st Canadian Army Headquarters in Germany and returned to Canada in 1946. Posted in Ottawa, he held different positions at Canadian Army Headquarters, most notably as resident officer at the University of Ottawa from 1946 to 1948. He became Commanding Officer of the 3e battalion of the Royal 22e Regiment from 1957 to 1960. Thereafter, he was posted in Vietnam as part of the International Control Commission. In 1962, he was promoted to the rank of Colonel and became director of studies at the Army Staff College in Kingston, Ontario. He retired from the Canadian Forces in March 1969 and became Director General of Bilingualism and Biculturalism for the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces, until his final retirement in 1977. MARTIN, Gilles

Économiste de profession, il a enseigné aux Universités de Montréal, Ottawa et Laval, travaillé au Ministère de l'industrie et du commerce à Québec puis au Ministère de l'expansion économique régionale à Ottawa. Ensuite, il a consacré quelques années au service de l'ACDI notamment au Sénégal et au Zaïre. Selon ses voeux les plus chers, il n'y aura aucune visite et les funérailles auront lieu dans la plus stricte intimité.
