Ian Robert Lewis - 12/11/2003

It is with deep sadness that Ian’s family announces his passing on December 9, 2003. Ian had a wonderful life and was grateful to his family, relatives and friends for sharing it with him. Ian was cherished and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Catherine (Manion), his daughter and son-in-law Sheila and Dan Brown and his son and daughter-in-law Peter and Gayle Lewis. His granddaughters Shannon, Nina, Sarah and Leanne will always treasure the wonderful memories of their grandpa. Ian will be fondly remembered by his brother and sister-in-law Alex and Shoshana Lewis, his sister-in-law Susan Manion and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tom and Kathy Manion. His nephews, nieces, godchildren and friends will always remember the many good times they shared together. A celebration of Ian’s life will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 315 McLeod Street on Friday, December 12, 2003 from 12noon until service time in the chapel at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers and in recognition of the wonderful care given to Ian, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart Institute.

Taken to her Maker at 6:20 a.m. December 3, 2003. Daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. R. D. Boast of Winnipeg. Sister of Shirley Milner of Winnipeg. Mother of Andrea of Vancouver, David of Midland, ON, Gordon of Lakefield, ON and Leslie of Ottawa. Grandmother of Alexander, Allison, David, Katie, Rob, Sarah and Simon. Mother-in-law of Jennifer, Pam, Doug and Daniel. She enjoyed her years as a member of the Amberwood Golf & Country Club and her association with her Sunday morning support group. A special salute to the wonderful staff at the Granite Ridge Long Term Care Facility in Stittsville. married to Jack Maitland on August 16, 1943 and both lived happily ever after. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave. at Richmond Rd. on Friday, December 5, 2003 from 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday December 6th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society, 20 Eglinton Ave. W., Suite 2000, Toronto ON M4R 1K8 would be appreciated.

In hospital on Wednesday, December 10, 2003. Beloved wife of Kenneth and sister Freda Hayes (Harold) Roger Pepper. A private family service will be held. Arrangements in care of the Memorial Funeral Home of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry. Special thanks to the staff of the Victorian Order of Nurses and to the nurses on the 8th floor of the General Hospital. For those wishing, donations to the Hospice at May Court, the Victorian Order of Nurses of the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Phyllis (nee Bishop) McCutcheon - 12/11/2003

Peacefully at St. Patrick’s Home on Wednesday, December 10, 2003. Beloved wife of Dr. Wilfred W. McCutcheon. Phyllis was born and raised in Marbleton, Quebec, attended Sherbrooke High School, graduated from Bishop’s University and taught high school in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her dear sister Doreen Mulcahy, her sister-in-law Iris Bishop, her brother-in-law Donald McCutcheon and his wife Dot, her niece Jane Bishop, her nephew Terry Mulcahy as well as many friends and relatives. Phyllis was a longtime member of St John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Ottawa as well as St Paul’s Anglican Church in Marbleton. Friends may visit at St. Patrick’s Home Chapel, 2865 Riverside Drive on Friday, December 12, 2003 after 1 p.m. until service time in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. The Reverend Canon Wayne Thomas Officiating. Interment of the urn will take place at a later date at St. Paul’s cemetery in Marbleton, Quebec. Donations in memory of Phyllis may be made to St. Patrick’s Home, Ottawa or to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Marbleton.

(Norma Garmley) and the late Donald G. Loving son of Nora and the late David D. and niece Bonnie. World War II Veteran Worked for the Experimental Farm passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at the age 80 years. Predeceased by his wife Josie. Survived by sons, Gordon and Clifford: grandchildren, Chris, Raven, Kim and Kelly and sister Flossie McGee. Also predeceased by brothers, Hubert, Clarence and Rev. John and sisters, Margaret Shepherd and Marian James. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway, Ottawa on Monday, December 8th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service to be held at the Community Pentecostal Church, 1825 St. Joseph Blvd, Orleans on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 11am. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Interment Bolingbroke cemetery.

After a courageous battle with cancer for almost 2 years, peacefully on November 26, 2003 at the age of 49. Survived by her mother Chim Leung. Predeceased by her father Choo Leung. Beloved wife of Ricky. Loving mother of Suzie Geldrez (Alvaro), Derek (Laura) and Kimberly. Cherished grandmother of Ryan. Dear sister of Gina Tam, Eva Leung and Mr. Yu-Ru Leung (Mei-Nong). She will be sadly missed by close friend Lily Au-Yeung. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry at 315 McLeod Street on Sunday, December 7 and Monday, December 8 from 2 to 9 p.m. Service will be held at the chapel on Tuesday, December 9 at 1 p.m. Interment at Beechwood cemetery. Predeceased by brothers Lucien Farrell (Anna), Gilles Farrell (Mary) and sister Jeanne. Survived by many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Peacefully in hospital on Monday, December 1, 2003 in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Andrew Pappas. Dear mother of Sandra Orlik, Douglas, Debbie Gibson and Gwen (J.C.). Loving grandmother of Natasha, Nadine, Crystal, Noella, Caleigh, Jamie, Rachel, Micheline, Marc, Alexis, Nathan and Nicholas and great-grandmother of Heather, Zachary and Cameron. Also survived by cousins Eleanore Barber and Joan Vezina of Ottawa and Arlene Burgam of Gross Pointe, Michigan. Muriel Temple (Cantlie) Petch (Nee Jamieson) - 12/01/2003

Peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2003 in Ottawa, in her 95th year. Formerly of Montreal, she was predeceased by her beloved first husband, Lt. Col. Stuart Cantlie and her second husband Lt. Col. Charles Petch. Survived by her sons, Colonel James Cantlie (Ret'd)(Lorraine) of Ottawa, and Colin Cantlie (Marilyn) of Calgary, by her grandchildren Charles Cantlie of Jasper, Cynthia Cantlie (Dan Stephanson) of Ottawa, Susan Kempton (Howard) of Toronto, Craig Cantlie of Vancouver and Stephanie Cantlie of Calgary and by her great-grandchildren Julianna and Ethan Stephanson (Ottawa). Also survived by step-daughter Joan Camp (Ed) of Newport, Vermont. Predeceased by sisters Alice Errington and Betty Amory. At her request there will be no visitation with private funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
