NOORDAM - At his residence on Sunday, February 4th, 2001. Hendrik "Henry" Noordam of the Valleyview Home, St. Thomas and formerly of Fingal in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Mrs. Margaret Noordam (1996) and dearly loved father of Hennie and her husband Christiaan Pennings, Belmont, Joanne and her husband Albert Van Deel Piepers, Fingal; Harry and his wife Wilma Noordam, St. Thomas; Paul and his wife Willie Noordam, Chatham; Henk and his wife Marianne Noordam, St. Thomas; Karl and his wife Tina Noordam, British Columbia; Cor and his wife Gail Noordam, Bowmanville; Walter and his wife Yvonne Noordam, Sarnia. Dear brother of Cor Noordham and Adrie DeVries of Holland. Henry is also lovingly remembered by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and was predeceased by a grandson, a granddaughter and by two great grandsons. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Thursday morning and then to the Free Reformed Church, St. Thomas where funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the charity of ones choice. A donation will be made to the Memory Garden at Pinafore Park in remembrance of Henry.

STEVENS - James W. on February 2, 2001 in his 74th year after 5 years of increasing discomfort and restrictions borne without complaint. Jim will be sorely missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, many friends and wee Bert. At Jim's request there will be no funeral or memorial service. He asks that you lift a glass and the corners of your mouth in his memory. He has always been grateful for your love and friendship.

BURROWS - At home with her family on Wednesday, February 7, 2001, after a long and difficult struggle with cancer, the Lord took home Jo Ann Tena Burrows (nee Heslinga) in her 37th year. Beloved wife of John Burrows. Dearly loved mother of Daniel and Benjamin. Dear daughter of Andrew and Tena Heslinga (nee Karsten), St. Thomas. Lovingly remembered by her brothers Rev. Fred and his wife Ella Heslinga, Edmonton, Don and his wife Gail Heslinga, London, Jack Heslinga, St. Thomas. Jo Ann will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Jo Ann graduated in 1987 from Western University, London with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and worked in London hospitals until 1991. Then moved to Hamilton to work at Hamilton Regional Cancer Clinic until two years ago. Resting at Cattel Eaton Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas until Saturday morning and then to the First Christian Reformed Church where funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Visitation Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

JEWELL - Elsie (Jones) of St. Thomas, on Tuesday, February 6, 2001, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Arthur L. Jewell (June 1, 1993) and dearly loved mother of Fred Jewell, Rick and his wife Sabine Jewell, Ron and his wife Mary Ann Jewell, Irene and her husband Donald Bate and Sylvia Jewell, all of St. Thomas. Dear sister of Irene Calder of St. Thomas. Sadly missed by 11 grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A public memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas. Cremation, with burial of ashes in Elmdale Cemetery. No visitation prior to the service. Remembrances may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Elgin-St. Thomas. A donation will be made to the Memory Gardens of Pinafore Park.

KERSTEN - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, on Tuesday, February 6th, 2001, Ted Kersten of West Lorne, in his 71st year. Born in Amersfoort, Holland, he came to Canada in the early 1950's and to the local area in 1977. Ted was a member of the St. Mary's Cemetery Board for many years. Predeceased by his first wife Catharina (1997) and one brother. Dearly loved and sadly missed by his wife Joyce (Trudell); sons John Kersten and his wife Barb of Appin, Dan Kersten and his wife Lorraine of Rodney, Fred Kersten and his wife Cathy of Port Stanley; daughter Diane McFadden and her husband Tim of Rodney; 11 grandchildren, Amy, Katie, John, Jeff, Bob, Derek, Amanda, Thomas, Alexandra, Gayle, Kelly; step-children Rhonda Howes, Dave Gillick and his wife Karen, and Tony Gillick. Also survived by five brothers, three sisters and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the West Lorne Chapel on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where parish prayers will be offered at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, West Lorne on Friday at 11:00 a.m., Fr. J. Nevett celebrant. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. If desired, donations to Cancer Research would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Padfield Funeral Home (519-785-0810).

MURRAY - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, February 7th, 2001. Helen Marie (Foley) Murray of St. Thomas in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Benjamin S. Murray (1976) and dearly loved mother of William and his wife Olive Murray, London; James and his wife Rilla Murray, Belleville and Margaret and her husband Larry Hindley, Port Stanley. Predeceased by a brother John. Helen is also lovingly remembered by five grandchildren Mary Angela, Mair ad, Miranda, Brighdin and Andrew and by a great grandson Calum. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. and then to Holy Angels' Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Father David Boutette. Interment to follow at the Holy Angels' Cemetery. Visitation Friday from 1:00 to4:00 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Remembrance may be made to the charity of ones choice. A donation will be made to the Memory Garden at Pinafore Park in remembrance of Helen.

DAVIES - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, February 8, 2001. Mrs. Olive V. (Whiteside) Davies of St. Thomas, beloved wife of the late Sydney T. Davies (1972), in her 88th year. Dearly loved mother of Mrs. Gail Vuylsteke and her husband Rodger, Mrs. Lynn Benn and her husband David, all of St. Thomas and Brian A. Davies of London. Also lovingly remembered by 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Anne Wright and by a brother, G.O. Tomlin. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. where the funeral and committal service will be conducted on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park, St. Thomas. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario gratefully acknowledged.

CRABE - MOSEWICH - Eva May Williamson-Crabe - Mosewich, wife of the late Ben Crabe, Wm. Mosewich, daughter of the late Mabel and James Williamson, step-daughter of the late Palmer Vincent. Born in London, Ontario on May 23, 1916, died in Abbotsford, B.C. on April 6, 2001. She loved life and family, she'll be missed and remembered by her ten children, Noreen and David Richardson, St. Thomas, Joanne and Carl DeWilde, London, Clifford and Genevi ve Crabe, Ottawa, Madeline and Chuck Darling, Louise and Vic Parrack, Louis and Eleanor Crabe, Norman and Liz Crabe, Sheila Lang, Arthur and Jan Crabe, Melody and Vlady Krejcik, all from British Columbia. Predeceased by a daughter Barbara, grandchildren William and Wandy and great grandson Stephen, two sons-in-law Ken Anderson and John Watson, sister Evelyn, brothers James and Frank. She'll be dearly missed by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Arrangements made in Abbotsford, B.C. Interment at the Fingal Cemetery at a later date. All she asks of you is for you to share love and happy memories.
