OWEN, David Douglas (Doug). Passed away with dignity on August 22, 2003 at the age of seventy-four at the West Island Palliative Care Residence. Doug was a master electrician, an Air Canada Cargo Service Specialist and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was also an avid boater. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia Arlene Owen, his parents Eluned Mary Owen (Jone) and Hayden Owen and by his brother Nev Owen. He was the father of David, Scott (Mylene) and Darlene (Ken) and grandfather of Sheena, Tyler and Kendra. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law Maureen (Thom) and Marjorie (Vic) as well as his nephews and nieces Chris (Lue), Sophia, Marleen (Dustin) and Megan. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. at Rideau Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4239 Sources Blvd. on Saturday, August 30, 2003. Donations in memory of Doug can be made to the West Island Palliative Care Residence at 265 Andre-Brunet, Kirkland, H9H 3R4, 693-1718. "May the wind be at your back, may the sun shine on your face and may there be plenty of water under your keel."

PERAZZELLI, Antonio. 1971-2003. Passed away at the Jewish General Hospital on August 26, 2003 at age thirty-two. He was the beloved son of Adamo and Giuseppina (Marzitelli). Besides his parents, he also leaves to mourn his brothers Michele (Lucia) and Alberto, his sister Lucia (Sandro), his fiance Graziella, his nephew Gianluca, his niece Stefania, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Family will receive condolences at Complexe Funeraire Loreto (4975 Des Grandes Prairies, St. Leonard). Funeral will be held on Friday, August 29 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Pompei Church and thence to the Notre Dame des Neiges Cemetery. Family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Jewish General Hospital for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated. Visitation hours Wednesday, August 27 from 7 to 10 p.m. and Thursday, August 28 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.

PISANELLI, Mario. 1939-2003. In Montreal on August 25, 2003 at the age of sixty-four years, passed away Mario Pisanelli, husband of Doris Deschene. He also leaves to mourn his children Paolo (Dianne Leblanc), Claudia (Anthony Del Vasto) Giancarlo, his grandchildren Chazz, his brothers Biagio (Rosa), Gaetano (Maria), Benito (Pasqualina), Alessandro (Concetta), his sisters Lucia (Francesco), Angela (Vincenzo), Beatrice (Francesco), Elia (Adriano), his mother-in-law Mrs. Brigitte Sirois as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Resting at Alfred Dallaire Funeral Complex - Memoria, 2159 Boul. St. Martin East, Duvernay Laval (514) 270-3112 on Thursday, August 28 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. and Friday, August 29 as of 9 a.m. followed by a funeral at Notre Dame du Mont Carmel Church, 7643 LeMans, St. Leonard at 11 a.m., thence to the St. Martin Mausoleum, Duvernay Laval. SHEARMAN, George Ernest Williams. 1924-2003. WWII Veteran. Former Montreal teacher and Principal. On Monday, November 17, 2003 in Ottawa, Ontario after a life full of experiences, including being wounded in Normandy, July 1944. Husband of his beloved wife Ruth Krashevski. Father of Linda Kealey and the late Peter. Grandfather of John Kealey, Mary Shearman and Mark Kealey. Father-in-law of Bruce Kealey, Mary Shearman Reid and Steve Reid. Son of the late Ernest and Anna (Williams) Shearman. Brother of Elizabeth Hall, Frances Kent, Jean Shearman, John (Helen Lamb) and Stewart. Private interment at the National Military Cemetery within Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa. Friends may attend a memorial service to be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2003. SPENCER, William (Bill). Passed away peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of seventy-three. He is survived by his children Bruce (Maria), David (Carol), Jimmy, Alan (Darryl), Diane (Werner), Beverley, Rob (Beverly), Shirley, Greg (Dale) and by his 15 grandchildren. He will also be missed by his sweetheart and companion Marie-Josee McKusker and family, and also his good friend Bill W. He was predeceased by his wife Rose Spencer (nee Rosetti). Many thanks to the Oncology Staff at the Lakeshore Hospital. WALKER, Brenda Glenn (nee Turnbull). Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on November 16, 2003 at the New Infirmary, Halifax, N.S. at the age of forty-one, residing in Lower Sackville, N.S. Born in Montreal, Brenda was the daughter of the late Robert and Eva (Miller) Turnbull. Brenda was a beloved and cherished wife, mother and devoted friend. Surviving are her loving husband, Derrick; daughters, Sharon and Denyse; son, Curtis; one niece and one nephew. Predeceased by her dear sister, Debbie. A celebration of Brenda's life will be held from the Rideau Funeral Home Chapel, 4275 Sources Blvd. (North of Hwy 40, exit 55), Dollard-des-Ormeaux on Saturday, November 22, 2003 at 2 p.m., visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. McGURRIN, John Michael. July 3, 1930 - December 10, 2003. John Michael McGurrin passed away peacefully in White Rock, BC on December 10, 2003 surrounded by his family after a short fight with cancer. He will be missed by his wife of forty-eight years, Edna, daughters Johanne (Don), Sherry (Wayne), Christine (James) and son Norman. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Donald (Huguette) and sisters Doreen, Rita (Alex), Suzanne, Mary and Joyce in Montreal, and sisters-in-law Irene (Stan) and Eve and brother-in-law Raymond (Susan) in Vancouver. From 1951 to 1990 John worked for Continental Can in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. John was passionate about life and will be remembered for his generosity, honesty and strength of character which he demonstrated to the end. The family would like to thank all the family and friends who were so supportive during John's short illness. A private gathering will be held in White Rock and a private memorial will be held in Montreal at a later date.

MEYER, Grace Rosalie. On December 8, 2003 in her ninety-seventh year, passed away peacefully in Burlington, Ontario. Formerly of Montreal, Grace was born in Plattsburg, New York on July 26, 1907. Beloved daughter of the late Helen Archambault and William Meyer of Montreal. She was predeceased by her two dear brothers Andrew and Paul. Beloved Aunt of William (Kathleen) of Burlington and Doris (John Whalen) of Richmond, B.C. Grace was the longtime personal assistant to Jean Picard, President of Montreal Textiles, a career that gave her tremendous pride and joy. Grace travelled the world over and was the most interesting, positive, generous and eloquent lady. Private funeral arrangements have been made and burial will take place later in Montreal. Always in our hearts dear Gracie.

Survived by her sisters Mona, Marilyn and Betty; sister-in-law Betty and brother-in-law Neal. Predeceased by her brothers-in-law Ray and Keith and sister-in-law Marjorie.
