PAPALIA, Dora (Carenza). 1909 - 2003. In Montreal on March 7, 2003 at the age of eighty-three years, passed away Mrs. Dora Carenza, wife of the late Raffaele Papalia. She leaves to mourn her children Ivana (Franco), Tony (Patricia), Robert (Albarosa), the late Adolfo (Vita), the late Giuseppe (the late Matilda), her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many relatives and friends. Resting at Loreto Funeral Complex, 4975 Des Grandes Prairies Blvd. (corner Viau), info: 514-325-3535. Visitation on Sunday, March 9, 2003 from 7 to 10 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Mont-Carmel Church, thence to Repos St. Francois D'Assise Cemetery.

BUSH, Laird Stanley. Passed away at home on September 5, 2003 following a very courageous life. Cherished husband of Murielle and loving father to Stephanie and Christopher. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. A funeral service will be held at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont (279-6540) on Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the MS Society of Canada or to Cancer Research will be appreciated.

He leaves behind his children Marianne (Vincent), Vito (Annemarie), his grandchildren Alex, Mark, Steven & Erika. Burial in Italy. Memorial service to be held at a later date. Peace is with you now.

CANNATA, Serafina (nee Orlando). Passed away peacefully after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimers on September 5 2003 at the age of eighty years. Beloved wife of the Late Pasquale Cannata. Loving mother to Giuseppe (Giovanna), Tina (Tony) and Maria (Giovanni). Cherished nonna to Connie, Lina, Sara, Lino, Nadia, Lara, Andrew and Alexander. She also leaves behind six great grandchildren along with many dear friends. The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude to the staff at the Centre Hospitalier St.-Michel for their care and compassion. The family will receive condolences at the Loreto Funeral Home (4975 boul. des Grandes-Prairies) on Sunday, September 7 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 8 at 11 a.m. at Missione Maria Ausiliatrice 8555 Maurice Duplessis). Burial will follow at Cote-des-Neiges Cemetery (Mausoleum La Pieta). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers Society (369-0800) would be appreciated.

COWEN, Hannah (nee Pauley). 1927-2003. Passed away in Victoria, B.C. on Wednesday, August 27, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of late Samuel McQuoid Cowen, mother of Samuel (Linda), Terry (Louise), Philip (Doreen), Denise, John (Kim), Steven (Robin). Grandmother of Jennifer, Kathleen, Laurie-Anne, Kevin, Rachel, Ruth, Siobhan, Lucas, Beth, Hannah, Caleigh and great-grandmother of Tristan. She will be sadly missed by her many loving relatives, but rejoice in the memories that she left behind. May you rest in peace.

DINH, Trinh-Chinh. On september 4, 2003, peacefully at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, at the age of seventy-five. Cherished husband of Thi-Thuy, he leaves to mourn his children Myvan (Georges), Thanh, My-Hoa (David), Hao, Sissi (Tuan), Bobby (Quyen); his stepchildren Paul (Trish), Teri (Hung), Veronica, and John (Julie), as well as sixteen beloved grandchildren. He had a distinguished career in his native Vietnam as a journalist and lawyer, as well as Minister of the Government of Vietnam and its Ambassador to Thailand before fleeing his native country with his family by boat upon the fall of South Vietnam in 1975. The boat he captained picked up a number of refugees stranded in the waters off of Vietnam. After a period in a refugee camp in Thailand, the majority settled in the Montreal area. His love of life and sense of humour will be sadly missed by those who knew him in Vietnam and around the world. Resting at Centre funeraire Cote-des-Neiges, 4525 Cote-des-Neiges, Montreal (514) 342-8000 on Saturday, September 6 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. and Sunday, September 7 (same hours). Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 8 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Foundation of the Centre universitaire de geriatrie de Montreal, 4565 Chemin de la Reine Marie H3W 1W5, will be gratefully accepted.

She leaves behind daughters, Diane (Mike Cooper), Donna (Paul Verrall), her four cherished grandchildren, Lisa (Pierre Lambert), Carolyn, Justin and Christopher, her sister Roylene Ann Duggan and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her dear friend of fifty years, Beverly Charrette. Special thanks to the staff of Mary's Residence in Pointe-Claire, Valerie Rothdram of the Lac St. Louis C.L.S.C. and Dr. Janet Wilson for their care and devotion.
