Cherished grandfather of Ryan and Lydia, Joanna and Bryan, Andrea, Erin, Josh, Zachary and Zoe, and loving great-grandfather of Ethan, Dylan, Lila and Jackson. Dear brother of Jack (Minnie), and predeceased by his brother Moe (Rhoda) and sisters Claire (Bernie) and May (Charlie). Loving brother-in-law of Sam and Phyllis Engelberg, and Greta Wiseman (Neville). He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, and all those whose lives he touched. Manny was loved and admired by all who knew him, with a kind, gentle and caring nature, always a smile on his face, simply a true mensch. He was one of a kind, living his life with optimism, concern for others and good humour to the very end. Alexandra Caro

CARO, Alexandra (née Nickelsberg). On Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Mount Sinai Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. She was eighty-two. Born in Alexandria, Egypt, and a Montrealer since 1967, Alex was an extraordinary artist, a fabulous homemaker, and above all a loving wife, mother, grandmother and cherished friend to many members of a large extended family. She had beauty, brains and charm to spare, and will be sorely missed by many; but most notably by her devoted husband of forty-five years, Victor Caro; her daughter Denny Arar and sons Roger Arar, Sylvio Caro and Yves Caro; their respective spouses Christian Goetze, Alida Camp, Ruth Caro, and Avril Lewis; grandchildren Seth Arar, Celine Arar, David Caro, Dhani Caro and Melissa Caro. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, November 4, at 12:00 p.m. Burial at the Beth El Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield.
