HOLZER, Miriam (née Bloom). Peacefully, on Friday, February 1, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Robert. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Richard and Bridgit, Elliot and Ellen, Linda and Rudy. Cherished grandmother of Lori and Howie, Robert, Elana, Roberta and John, Neil and Liz. Proud great-grandmother of Carly, Ella, Lyla, Ben, Sebastian, and D.J. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Victor and Maxine, Yehuda and Erica, Amnon and Rona, Shalom and Roslyn, David and Beverly, Corrine and the late Zev Bloom. Miriam will be greatly missed by Trudy Holzer, Helen and Werner Mier, her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. RUBY, Fay (née Gilbert). Peacefully, on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the age of ninety-four. Mother and mother-in-law of Dr. Lorne and Marie Ruby, and Gary Ruby. Grandmother of Maia and A.J. Clemmons. Great-grandmother of Alecxander, and Damian. Predeceased by her brother George and sister Belle. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. CLAMAN, Abraham. It is with profound regret that we announce the passing of Abraham Moses Claman on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Toronto, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Beloved husband of the late Mary, who passed away last May. Loving father and father-in-law of Brian and Caroline, Mark and Jewel, Catherine and Carlos. Cherished grandfather of Ciara, Danny; Kelly (Jonathan), Rebecca; Zachary, and Zoe. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Peter and Rene Claman of Halifax; and brother-in-law of Peter and the late Susan Reich. Uncle of Dayna, Sandra and Edwina. Abraham will be sadly missed by his loving family, and by his many friends. Special thanks to his caregivers Gerlie, K.C., and Lisa, who took care of him day and night during his last year, as well as to Thelma, and Joy, who took care of him in Montreal and loved him like he was their father. SZAJNFARBER, Hersz (Harry Shainfarber). Peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2013, in Toronto, at the age of ninety-three. Beloved husband of Chana (Angie) Heller. Devoted father and father-in-law of Lily and John Cox, Molly Shainfarber and Philip Gold. Adored Zaidie of Zachary, and Jordana Cox; David, and Riva Gold. Predeceased by seven siblings who perished in the Holocaust. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Rywka and the late Chaim Usher Szajnfarber, the late Brucha and the late Louis Rozanski, the late Chaya and the late Abraham Majerfeld. Uncle of Eddie and Judy Majerfeld, Mordechai and Bonnie Rozanski, Dora and Saul Edelstein, and Selik Shainfarber and Evelyn Cooperstein. Hersz will be sadly missed by all of his relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Marjorie for her incredible care for both Hersz and Angie. Aron Harold Wolofsky

1923 – 2013. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aron Harold Wolofsky on Sunday, February 17, 2013, in his ninetieth year. Beloved husband of Ruth Shultz for over sixty years. Amazing father and father-in-law of Stan Wolofsky and Ewa Dezsynski, Edward and Maydie Wolofsky. Treasured grandfather of Kayla and Samara; Corey and Elisabeth, Jason, and Robbie. Son of the late Zelig and late Brucha Wolofsky. Brother and brother-in-law of Sylvia and the late Morris Wolofsky, the late Sol and late Freda Wolofsky, and brother-in-law of the late Sheila and late Zavie Miller. We will greatly miss his smile, gentleness, love, humour, wit and his many talents. Always a captain of his ship, he brought out the best in all of us. Special thanks to the 4th floor staff at Julius Richardson, the entire Emergency Department at the Jewish General Hospital, and all of his dedicated physicians. Wendy will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews; Sandra (Leigh), Eric (Florence) and Natalie Chechik, Kimberly, Jesse and Michelle Morein, as well as her aunts and uncle; Anne and Syd Chesick, Dorothy and the late Lionel Chechik, Ada and the late Stan Tarnofsky. Wendy also leaves behind Dan Fibert who was so caring and dedicated, her devoted extended Swedish family, cousins, and friends in both Montreal and Sweden.
