Cherished Grandpa of Leytal, and Adam Ross; Kevin, and Kyle Diamond; Tyler, Noah, Kaeden, Quinn, and Zev Ross. Brother of the late Mel Ross. Loving nephew of Nettie Ross. Martha will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Cherished grandmother of Marina Zogalis and Mike Panich, Elizabeth Zogalis; Jonathan, Daniel and Annie Claire Charlat. Sister and sister-in-law of Jennie and the late Hyman Berson, the late Abraham and the late Molly Monk, the late Max and the late Jean Monk, and sister-in-law of Sylvia and the late Arthur Dick, the late Pearl and the late Myer Sussman, the late Anita and the late George Singerman. Special thanks to her exceptional social worker Sachita Mahadoo, and her caregivers from CLSC Côte-des-Neiges. Adam Greenspoon

Peacefully, at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, November 10, 2013, after a short illness, at the age of ninety. Beloved husband of Sonia Liss for sixty-eight years. Loving father and father-in-law of Annette and Will Strug of Halifax, NS, Gerald and Ellen Greenspoon of Hollywood, Florida. Cherished grandfather of Jeffrey and Robin Strug, Lowell and Elyssa Strug, Lisa Strug and Andrew Murray; Michelle Greenspoon, Cheryl and Jimmy Gutt, and Rebecca Greenspoon. Proud great-grandfather of Ethan, Danny, Ellie, Benjamin, Blair, Alex, Lilly, Leo and Mila. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Henry and Shirley Greenspoon, the late Renia and the late Felix Zeligman, the late Fela and the late Max Zolna, the late Helen and the late Marcel Cygler. Predeceased by his parents, two sisters and brother who perished in the Holocaust. Adam was born in Lodz, Poland, where he remained through most of the war, surviving the Holocaust, and eventually reuniting with his two sisters and a brother in Europe. He immigrated to Canada – a country which he learned to love for the remainder of his life – in 1949. He made Montreal his home, where he became a successful businessman and real estate developer. Adam was a generous contributor to the Montreal community. He was a past Chancellor Commander of the Knights of Pythias, Unitas Lodge, a supporter of many local charities, and a supporter of the arts. Adam was an avid golfer and was instrumental in founding Green Valley Golf Club in Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec. The funeral service will take place at Temple Solel, 5100 Sheridan St., Hollywood, Florida 33021, on Wednesday, November 13 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Beth David Memorial Gardens Levitt Weinstein, 3201 N.W. 72nd Ave, Hollywood, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the “Adam Greenspoon Memorial Fund” c/o the Montreal General Hospital Foundation, (514) 934-8230, in appreciation of Dr. Steven Grover.

Barry Dov Davis

DAVIS, Barry Dov After fighting a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday December 4th 2013, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Selma. Devoted father and father-in-law of Judy (Andy Waks), Lynn (late John Levitan), Susan Veingrad and Gail (Howard Cohen). Loving Zaidie of Lisa, Mark (Amanda), Alana, Jeremy, Brenda, Karly, Erin and Lorne. Barry will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, family and dear friends. A Holocaust Survivor, Barry Davis was a strong, determined, loving man who was deeply proud of his Jewish heritage. With minimal education, and only the clothes on his back, upon his arrival to Canada, Barry independently became a successful butcher, insurance salesman, and real-estate agent. Barry was always available and willing to give his sound advice to anyone in need. We will never forget his life lessons and persevering to succeed against all odds. Funeral services will be held on Sunday December 8th at Ottawa Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1771 Cuba Avenue, at 11am. Burial at Ottawa Jewish Memorial Gardens on Bank Street. Shiva to be observed on Sunday to Thursday at 607-1510 Riverside Drive from 1:30- 3:30 p.m. and 7- 9 p.m and Friday from 11am – 1pm. BISTRICER, Betty (née Maur). On Friday, December 6, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Herman. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Suzanne and Mark Gans, Simone and Robert Blatt.
