LEWIS - HAZEL, born on February 24, 1903 went peacefully to the heavenly Father above on September 17, 2002. She was 5 months and 7 days short of her 100th birthday. Hazel was predeceased by her parents Joe and Addie Kinkley; husband Percy; brother Cliff; sister Vena Jackson and brother Frank. She leaves to mourn her loving daughter Elaine and Ray Forster, precious grandsons: Kyle and Shila (Quin and Maguire), Hal and Kelly (Ryan and Brenen) and Chad (Wendy and Travis); her loving sister Marge Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was a loving, kind and caring person. We will love you forever. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 23, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. in the Helmsing Funeral Chapel, 2210 College Ave., Regina, Sask. with Pastor Dennis Fingas, officiating. Interment to follow in Regina Memorial Gardens. "Special thanks to the staff, caregivers and Francis and Shawna of the Regina Lutheran Home." Flowers most gratefully declined. SNITZLER - On Thursday, September 12, 2002, Mr. Edward W. Snitzler of Nipawin, SK, passed away in Regina General Hospital at the age of 76 years. Ed leaves to remember him, wife, Betty; daughters, Linda (Marcel) Hunt and Val Snitzler (Jon Davies); 3 grandchildren, Marcel, Bradley and Larissa Hunt; brother Stan (Elaine); sister, Kay (Ray) Linnen and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Mike and Clara; sisters, Madge (Roy) Cornwall, Evaline (Les) Mossauer, Marie (Fred) Siebel and brother, Leonard Snitzler. Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, September 22, 2002 at Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK with Rev. Jim Balfour officiating. STUECK - On Thursday, September 12, 2002, Nelson O. Stueck, Balcarres, Sask. and formerly Abernethy, Sask., died at the age of 98 years. The funeral service will be held in the Knox United Church, Abernethy, Sask., on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Officiant Rev. Brian R. Mee. Interment of the cremated remains in the Abernethy Cemetery. Mr. Stueck was predeceased by his first wife May E. Newstead, his second wife Billie Hazel Porter and his third wife Margarette Marshall, his brother Roy J. Stueck and his sisters Edra K. Penny and Viola O. Emmerson. He is survived by his daughter Shirley (Murray) McMillan, Arcola, Sask., and his grandchildren: Catherine McMillan, Delisle, Sask.; Russell McMillan; Heather (Alan) Tessier; and Kenneth McMillan, all of Arcola. Mr. Stueck is also survived by his great grandsons Ryan, Trevor and Regan Tessier, his brother Edison A. (Mina) Stueck, Abernethy, sisters in law Millie Newstead, Balcarres, and Muriel (Newstead), as well as his nieces and nephews. If friends so desire contributions to the Knox United Church, Abernethy, Sask., S0A 0A0 or to a charity of choice may be tokens of remembrance.

ASHTON, Horace Clive (Yorkie) - On August 6, 2002, Mr. Horace Clive (Yorkie) Ashton of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away at the age of 94 years. He is survived by his four loving children, Edgar (Helen), Reenie, Edward (Colleen) and Doreen; sister-in-law, Josephine; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his wife, Katherine and his parents. A special thanks to the staff at 4G4 at the University of Alberta Hospital. Memorial Service Monday, August 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 5104 -106 Avenue, Edmonton, with Reverend Laird D. Borst officiating. Cremation has taken place in the Park Memorial Crematorium. Predeceased by her parents John and Eva and brother William (Ruth); Dorothy is survived by her nephews Bob (Susan) of White City, SK. and their children Jessica and Courtney and Byron (Cheryl) of Regina, SK and their children Samantha and Tanner. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. in Riverside Memorial Park, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK with Rev. Barry Bruce, officiating. KECKI - Imre was born on June 14, 1940 in Yugoslavia and passed away on August 7, 2002 in Regina, with his wife and daughters by his side, at the young age of 62 years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beautiful and loving wife of 38 years, Zorka; his lovely three daughters, Eva (Kelly) McKaeff of Regina, Georgina (Don) Olsen of Regina and Elizabeth Kecki to Toronto; his grandchildren, Lindsay, Kaeden, Cole and Chloe; his only brother, George (Freda) Kocski and numerous nephews and nieces. He will also be sadly missed by his pet cat and companion J.J. Imre was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth in August 2002 and his father, Imre in May 1999. Imre and his young family immigrated to Canada in 1970 and chose Regina as their new home. Imre and Zorka sacrificed their own needs in order to provide greater opportunities for their daughters in Canada. For this, they are forever grateful. Imre was a self-employed painter/decorator. His proudest moments were coaching his daughters in table tennis, where numerous trophies were won. A special thanks to the staff in the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital. KERR, Garth - passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at the age of 80 years, at the Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, Regina, just 10 days after celebrating his 60th Wedding Anniversary. Garth was born November 23, 1921 at the family farm in Lang and attended Prairie Cona and Lang schools. He served in the Air Force during the Second World War and later returned to Lang to take over the family farm. The farm remains in the family and in 2000 was recognized as a"Century Family Farm". Garth was predeceased by his parents, Colin and Zella Kerr, and brothers Ralston, Mernie and Jim. He issurvived by his wife Doris; son Gary (Shirley) of Saskatoon; daughters Terry (Greg)Thomas of Regina and Cathy (Bruce) Phillips of Victoria, BC; grandchildren Jason and Heather Kerr (Saskatoon), Zella and Colin Phillips (Ottawa); and great granddaughter Danielle Kerr (Saskatoon). Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2002 at 1:30 P.M., at the Regina Funeral Chapel, Highway #1 East. Internment will follow at the Lang Cemetery. Those so wishing, may makedonations, in memoriam, to the Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, 4215 Regina Avenue, Regina, S4S 0J5.

BARR - On Sunday, September 29, 2002, Brenda Maria (nee George) went to join the Creator at the age of 43 years. Predeceased by her mother Matilda. Brenda is survived by her husband Paul, daughters Esther (Garry), Michelle (Mel) and Jeannine, son Gary, father of her children, Gary Tanner Sr., nine grandchildren, sisters Marva, Noreen and Shelly, brothers Elwin and Steven, father Calvin, paternal grandfather Arthur, maternal grandmother Maria Sugar, adopted brother Ross Allary, adopted daughter Anita Ryder. A wake will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. at the Fred Bear Communiplex, Ochapowace First Nation. A traditional feast will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at 12:00 noon with a traditional funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Elders Sam Isaac, Mervin Bob, George Sangwais, Reg Severight and Steve Dorma officiating. Interment in the Ochapowace Cemetery.

Ruby is survived by her daughters, Marlus Kulas and Elaine (Gerald) Baron; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Alma (John) Gray-Schock, Mable Barber and Lois Shauf; brothers, Ivan (Loris), Floyd (Alma) and Vernon (Chris) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Murray in 1975 and brothers, Herbert and Alvie. Ruby will be remembered for her great love of music and unique sense of humor. She is survived by her son Don (Betty) of Regina; two grandsons, Michael (Cori) of Abbotsford, B.C. and Parry (Carrie) of Saskatoon; five great-granddaughters: Sarah, Kenrae and Kelsie of Abbotsford, and Jordan and Kaelyn of Saskatoon; one niece Jackie (Jack) Penny of High River, Alberta and several great nieces and nephews. At Orla's request there will be no funeral service. A private family interment will be held at the Regina Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
