LANG - HAROLD R., died peacefully at home on Monday, September 30, 2002 at the age of 65 with his family close by his side. Predeceased by his parents Rudolph and Regina Lang, sister Lorraine, brothers Walter and Richard and granddaughter Kayla Lang. Harold will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 44 years June (Riess); son Donald and Ramona, Meaghan, Bremen and Kiel (of Regina); son Harvey and Danita, Brandon, Sheena and Jacqueline (of Regina), son Russell and Annette, Rebecca, Kathleen and Eric (of Grenfell); and daughter Tracey (of Regina). Brothers Martin (Marilyn); sisters-in-law Gloria and Barbara; brothers Allan (Debby), Raymond (Darlene) and sister Linda Potter as well as all of June's family and numerous nieces, nephews and family. A Memorial Service will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East on Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harold's memory to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 7T1 or Mount Olive Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 2015 - 4th Avenue, Regina, SK. PURVES - Alan Roy. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, and grandfather, Alan Roy Purves on Monday, September 30, 2002 in Palliative Care at the Pasqua Hospital, after a short courageous battle with cancer. Alan leaves, to cherish his memory, his wife of 51 years Shirley; three daughters, Debbie (George) Zlatarits, Regina, Sandra Purves, White Rock, BC, and Sharon (Steven) Bednash, Cloverdale, BC; one grandson Jason Zlatarits, Regina; three granddaughters, Jaime Zlatarits, Regina, Toni Cormier, White Rock, BC, and Sarah Bednash, Cloverdale, BC; one sister Doris (Bill) Bee and one brother Stan (Amy) Purves, both of Calgary, AB; sisters-in-law, Mary Purves, Irene Galbraith, Mona Galbraith, Maize Therens and Mayleen Scott; numerous nephews, nieces, as well as other family and friends. Alan was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Amanda Purves; two brothers, Orval and Morris Purves; sister-in-law Mona Purves; brothers-in-law, Morley, Barney, and George Galbraith, Clarence Therens and Puggy Scott. The family would like to thank the staff in the Pasqua Emergency, 4D and Palliative Care Unit for their caring and support to us during this difficult time. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, with Rev. Robert Leeson officiating. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. BERRY - WILLIAM "BILL" MURRAY, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 29, 2002 at the Regina General Hospital. William was born August 14, 1922 to William and Mary Anne Berry in Winnipeg, MB whom have both predeceased him. William is lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Bernice; children Joan (Dan) Sabo, Bill (Marian) Berry, Dougal (Lisa) Berry and Connie Berry; grandchildren: Angus and Morgan Sabo, Andrea and Evan Berry; sister Jane (late William) Keay; brother Jim (Joan) Berry and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. William was a graduate of the University of Manitoba in 1944 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He went on to graduate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1947 with a Masters of Science. After graduating, William spent his career with the PFRA involved in many projects, including the Gardiner Dam. He retired in 1977 as the Acting Director of the PFRA. After retirement, William started a private consulting company that brought him to many interesting places, locally and in Africa. In his youth, he was adept in fencing as well as curling. Later in life his hobbies included sailing, photography, travel and stamp collecting. William will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, on Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. ANDERSON, JEANNE MARGARET - (nee Graham), late of Regina, born on September 28, 1944 in Montreal, Quebec, passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, April 2, 2003. She is predeceased by her parents. She will be loving missed by her husband Bill Anderson; her sons: Don (Shauna) and Bobby (Brenda) and granddaughter Hannah; brothers Don (Irma) Graham and Hugh (Lil) Graham and sister Bette (Sprague) Wiseman; special friend Rowena Sullivan as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was a caring wife, mother and nana. She loved nature, especially maple trees and birds and dogs. She loved people and her job at Exhibition Park. She was dubbed the "Hostess with the Mostess". Jeanne was a great fan of the Pats, Royal Red, Exhibition and Agribition. She loved the kids in Sections K, C, O, the fans, exhibitors at all the events at the Exhibition Grounds. She touched many people young and old with her wit, personality and charm. Memorial Service will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, on Monday, April 7, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 7T1. BIRD - Mabel Irene (nee Myers) June 10th, 1906 - March 31st, 2003. Passed away on Monday evening at the Moose Mountain Lodge, Carlyle, at the age of 96 years. Predeceased by her husband, Francis (Frank), her parents, Jacob Ervin Myers and Laura Myers (Nee Baker), and brothers, Stanley, Ralph and Earl. Mabel is survived by her daughter Dorothy (Larry) Easton, two grandchildren, Michelle (Dan) Brotzel and Mark (Patrice) Easton and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-laws, Jean Myers and Lil Myers and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mabel was born in the Cannington Manor district near Wawota, spending most of her life in the Wawota area. Funeral services will be held at the United Church, Wawota, Sask., on Monday April 7th, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Harvey Hurren officiating. Internment in the Wawota Cemetery will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make donations in memory of Mabel to their favourite charity. BRUCE - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, Wilma Iris Bruce on Wednesday, April 2, 2002 at the age of 67. Iris is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Morley; daughter, Colleen; son, Allan (Deana); mother, Flora Ramsey; sister, Myrna (Dick) Beare (Marina). Iris was predeceased by her father, Fred Perdue. Iris was born in Brandon, MB on September 4, 1935, and grew up and went to school in Regina, SK where she met and married Morley. She spent the past 37 years in Saskatoon raising her family and sharing duties in the family owned business. Iris was also a member of the Cosmo Couples Club for the past few years. Iris' last four weeks were spent battling Vasculitis, a relatively unknown disease (related to Lupus) which affected her lungs and kidneys. The family would like to extend its utmost thanks to the Intensive Care Unit staff at the Royal University Hospital and St. Paul's Hospital and a special thank you to her family doctor, Dr. E. Olszynski for their support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Iris to the Lupus Erythematosus Society of Saskatchewan (L.E.S.S.), Box 88, Royal University Hospital, 103 Hospital Drive, Saskatoon, SK, S7N 0W8. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 7, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Bent officiating at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK. Predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Marie Davenport; brother, Christian Davenport; sister, Doreen Fisher; grandson, Scott Denouden. EISLER - On Thursday, April 3, 2003 Anna Elizabeth Eisler, late ofRegina, and formerly of Odessa, Sask., passed away at the age of 94 years. She was predeceased by her parents Balzer and Margaret Weimer; husband John; son Leonard; grandson Jason and son-in-laws Leo Untereiner and Al Vogt. Anna is survived by children Phyllis Vogt, Mildred Untereiner, Jerome 'Jess' (Sheila), Ronald (Donelda) and Syd (Shirley); grandchildren Warren, Vanessa, Patricia, Jeffrey (Lynda), Murray, Laurie, Jim (Lorelei), Dave (Dawn), Glen, Brian, Elescia and Steven, Jennifer and Janelle; great-grandchildren Laura, Jessica, Neil, Sarah, Rose, Robin, Christopher and Daniel; brother-in-laws Bob Eisler (Mary) and Larry Eisler (Ruby) and sister-in-law Caroline McLean as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Anna Weimer was the 5th born of 11 children. She grew up in Kendal, Sask. and in 1930, she married John Eisler. Anna and John lived in Odessa from 1930 to 1962. John was a school teacher and principal and Anna was a devoted wife and mother working hard to raise a family of 6 children. She was active in the Odessa CWL as well as in Regina at Holy Cross and St. Mary's R.C. Church. In 1962, they moved to Regina. Anna was a seamstress for Christie Grants and the Army and Navy until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing cards, bingo, curling and was an avid Blue Jays' fan. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed very much. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Santa Maria staff for their loving care during the last 3 years. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary's R.C. Church, 2026 Winnipeg St. Regina, SK with Rev. Lawrence Folk, Celebrant. The Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. Prayers will be said on Monday, April 7, 2003 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK. Arrangements are in the care of LEE FUNERAL HOME 757-8645
