CHARABIN, WALTER

CHARABIN - Walter John Charabin, born on October 16, 1935 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully at the Saskatoon City Hospital on Friday, July 27, 2007. Walter is predeceased by his parents Frederick and Pauline (nee Kindrachuk) Charabin, his sister Nel Bouey and his brother Ken Charabin. Walter is survived by his son Paul Charabin, his stepdaughter Aldine McConnell, and his sister Sylvia Sharpe. As well as many other family and friends that he loved and cherished. After being raised with his family in North Battleford, Walter completed a bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Saskatchewan. Until his retirement, Walter held positions with various Saskatchewan government departments including Social Services, Indian affairs, and Crop Insurance. After his retirement from Crop Insurance, Walter returned to The Battlefords area where he spent his remaining years surrounded by friends and family. Walter had a strong passion for the arts and enjoyed not only creating his on pottery but teaching others in the community. His many works of pottery are proudly displayed in the homes of friends and family. A celebration of Walter's life will be held at Willow Heights Community Hall (5 miles East on Highway 40 and 2.5 miles North on the Willow Heights grid, North Battleford) on Thursday, August 2 beginning at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers or cards please consider a donation on Walter's behalf to City Hospital or St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, or the charity of your choice.

EXELBY, ROSS

Moose Jaw, SK
ROSS EXELBY - of Moose Jaw, formerly of Craik Sask., passed away peacefully on July 29th, 2007 at Pioneer Lodge, Moose Jaw Sask. Ross was born on September 21st 1932 in Craik, where he spent most of his life, until he retired to Moose Jaw in 2002. He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Nora Exelby, an infant daughter Mary, brother Gerald and many in-laws. Ross was forever a farmer, having a great interest and love in all aspects of farming. Many hours were spent studying pedigrees of harness race horses, and in the last few years Ross studied Red Angus and Black Angus Beef Cattle, which he successfully raised. His family was his pride and joy. Dorothy, Ross's wife of 50 years, sons Willie (Diane); Dan (Shannon) Dennis; and Tom, daughters, Tery (Jim) Smith; Gail (Stewart) Quinn; Margo (Paul) Rolheiser, eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren; five sisters and one brother, will miss him greatly. The funeral Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday August 2nd, 2007 at 11:00a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Craik Sask. with Rev. Father Neil Osiowy celebrant. Interment at the family plot, Craik Cemetery, Craik Sask. For friends so wishing, memorials in memory of Ross may be directed to the Valley View Centre Moose Jaw, or to the Saskatchewan Heart and Stroke Foundation. GOODIN, EDWARD

GOODIN - Edward William "Ed " passed away suddenly on December 25, 2006 at the age of 74 years. He was predeceased by his parents Norm and Caroline. Ed is survived by his wife Marguerite, sons Richard and Randy (Sandra), five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four sisters. Ed loved hunting and ice fishing with his sons and spending time with his entire family. Ed was loved and will be greatly missed. At Ed's request, cremation and a private family gathering will be held.

LOGAN, WILLIAM

LOGAN - William (Bill) Gerald, born in Fredericton NB in 1928, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Christmas Day, 2006. Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary; his children, Sandy (Brian) of North Battleford SK, David (Deedee) of Winnipeg MB, Joan (Graeme) of Townsville, Australia, Elizabeth (Tony) of Saskatoon SK; grandchildren, Kris (Jane) Logan, Karie (Jason) Nothof, Kathryn (Jason) Fuhr; and two greatgrandchildren, Atleigh and Lander Fuhr. He will be greatly missed. Bill was a member of the RCMP for 25 years, then practiced law with the Canadian Wheat Board in Winnipeg and the Attorney General's Department in Regina until his retirement in 1985. He was an infamous letter writer and wore out a number of typewriters at work and at home. He was well-liked and respected by many. At Bill's wish, there will be no funeral. There will be a family interment at the RCMP Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends, so wishing, may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert Street, Regina SK, S4R 2P6, The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 2360 2nd Avenue, Regina SK, S4T 1A6, or to The Cancer Research Society, #305-200 Isabella Street, Ottawa ON, K1S 1V7.The family would like to thank all the caring friends and neighbours for their support.

LYNCH, DONALD

LYNCH - Donald William Lynch, born March 16, 1923, passed away December 25, 2006. Predeceased by his wife, Katherine Mary Lynch on December 25, 2002; parents Margaret and John; son-in-law James Hakl; sister Marion Edwards; brothers-in-law, Ted Edwards, Don Schmidt, and Ted Roland; Don is survived by his daughter, Beverly (David) Solomon, and grandson Craig (Michelle) Solomon, great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Kristen, and granddaughter Jennifer Solomon; his daughter Sharon Hakl, and granddaughters, Melanie and Amy Hakl from Ontario; his sisters Margaret Roland and Barbara Schmidt; and brother James. Memorial Service will be held in Speers Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 29, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Saskatchewan Parkinson's Disease Foundation, Box 102, 103 Hospital Drive, Saskatoon SK, S7N 0W8, would be appreciated by the family. MONTGRAND - Our precious little angel, Ethan Alfred Montgrand, born March 8, 2006 was called to the arms of our Lord on December 24, 2006. He is survived by his parents Alfred Montgrand Jr. and Angie Gordon, grandparents Alfred Montgrand Sr., Frances Montgrand, Donalda Yellowfly, Edmond and Karen Gordon, greatgrandparents Valerie and Raymond Gordon Sr., Kathy Charette, Mary Jane Gardiner, Olive Bellegarde, Winston Yellowfly and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A Wake will begin on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at 5:00 P.M. in the Whitecalf Gymnasium, Lebret, Sask., with the Wake Service commencing at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. with the burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lebret. Rev. Edmond Gordon, Rev. W. PARROTT - John Patrick Pat of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2006 after a long illness, while in dialysis at Regina General Hospital. Pat was predeceased by his parents and his brother Ronald. Pat is survived by his loving wife Claire; his children: Daniel of Regina, SK, Susanne (Dale) Neufeld of Saskatoon, SK, Patrick (Tracy) of Regina, SK, and Ronald of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren: Micah, Nicklas and Domenic Neufeld, and Quinn and Rhys Parrott; his sisters Marlene of Vancouver, BC, and Anna (Wayne Longman) of Palm Desert, CA; nieces and nephews: Joo-Hwa Nishi, Geoffrey, Michael, Andrea, and Jonathon Longman. Pat was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Free spirited, friendly and a great storyteller, Pat's smile, warmth and laughter will be sorely missed. The family sincerely thanks the staff at Parkside Extendicare and the Regina General Hospital for their kindness while Pat was under their care. MONVOISIN - Tragically on Saturday, September 2, 2006, Gerald Gerry Monvoisin, beloved husband of Paula Monvoisin and a well known farmer/agricultural equipment dealer of Gravelbourg, Sask. passed away accidentally at the age of 58 years. He was predeceased by his parents Jean-Marie and Laurette Monvoisin, brother Raymond and brother-in-law Olaf Vicker. Gerry will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved wife Paula, son Jean-Paul (Marlene) and their children Colton and Josee of Gravelbourg, Sask. and daughter Gisele (Terry) Lawrence and their children Dalton, Raeanne and Talia of Swift Current, Sask., three sisters: Violet, Cecile (Lloyd) and Yvonne (Joe), numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, Sask. with Father Louis Kubash officiating.
