MEGLAUGHLIN - Yvonne. Passed away peacefully November 2, 1999, aged 80. Predeceased by her loving husband Tom. Survived by children Marg (Mike) Morrow and Andre (Heather) and grandchildren Chris, Megan and Tannis. Memorial service to be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 1999, at the "new" Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer Canada.

DORCHESTER - Jean Elizabeth. Passed away peacefully at age 86 on October 28, 1999, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, and is lovingly remembered by her devoted family, daughter Gillian (David) Schine, sons Frank (Melanie) and Edmund (Allison), and grandchildren Tod, Jennifer, Guy, Eric, Hannah and Nellie. Memorial service at St. Francis in The Wood Church, West Vancouver, on November 13, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Lions Gate Hospital Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
DOVE - (Pearl) Margaret Gordon Bailie (nee Russell) age 84. Passed away suddenly at home in West Vancouver on October 31, 1999. Survived by her loving husband Archie Dove. Beloved mother of daughter Barbara (Lawrie) Groundwater and their children Gordon and Alison and her husband Keith Punter; and son Robert (Joan) and their children Michael, Barbara and Jeffrey; and sister Elizabeth Smigelski. Predeceased by her first husband Ralph Davis (1961), father Robert Russell Sr. (1963) of Britannia Beach, B.C. and brother Robert Jr. and sister-in-law Elaine. Pearl was born in Vancouver on January 9, 1915. She spent her youth in Britannia Beach followed by more happy years in Victoria, Vancouver and Gibsons. A memorial service will take place at St. Andrew's and St Stephen's Presbyterian Church, 2641 Chesterfield Ave, North Vancouver at 2:00 p.m on Saturday, November 13, 1999. She will be sadly missed. Flowers gratefully declined.

MELLIN - Peter Ralph. Born August 29, 1948. Died suddenly October 29, 1999 of complications following surgery. Peter touched many lives with his kind gentle manner, humour, wit and unfailing generosity. He loved fishing, sailing and was renowned by all who knew him for his superb culinary skills. Peter was a devoted husband and father. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dierdre, his soul mate for 26 years; his three precious children Kirsten, Berkeley and Bailey; as well as sister Ann; brother Robert; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Deborah and William Ferguson, Renate and Donald Bush, Pat Kaine, Stuart Isbister; father-in-law Don Bush; many nieces and nephews Morgan and Patrick Ferguson, Alan, Penny and Shane Erickson, Sean and Lars Kaine, Teresa McNee, Kaley and Regan Isbister, Caitlin and Silas Poole; and his many friends. Peter was predeceased by his daughter Alysa Kirby, his sister Joan Kaine and his parents Laila and Lars. Heart felt thanks go out to all the doctors and staff in Intensive Care at Lions Gate Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lions Gate Kidney Dialysis Fund would be greatly appreciated. Memorial Service for Peter will be held on Sunday, November 14, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. in North Vancouver at the Canyon House, across from Capilano Suspension Bridge.

MATCHETT - Evelyn Marion. Born in Chatham, New Brunswick on January 1, 1912. Passed away in Evergreen House, North Vancouver, B.C., on October 21, 1999. Evelyn is predeceased by her husband Vance in 1978, and daughter Doris McPherson in 1994. She is survived by two sons Les (Donna) of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Robert (Marilyn) of Los Angeles, one daughter Rita Hunter, North Vancouver, two sisters Lena Babcock and Mayda Russell of Peterborough, eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Boal Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, North Vancouver, B.C., on October 26, 1999 at 12:00 p.m. Interment North Vancouver Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr., Bovard and the staff at Evergreen House, 2 south.

DRUMMOND - Anna M. Passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital, October 21, 1999. Born in Burns Lake, B.C. to George and Debora Lindstrom. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Anna was a long time employee at Lions Gate Hospital. Survivors are her sister Mrs Eva McKinnon of Eugene, Oregon, step son Robert Rice and wife Yvonne, their children Jennifer and Ian of Surrey, B.C. Nephews Donald McKinnon, Douglas McKinnon and wife Christine, niece Lynn Anderson and husband Don, several great nieces and nephews all of Eugene Oregon. Anna requested no funeral. A celebration of her life was held by her family.

SANDHU - Hardev S. Owner of Flavour of India restaurant, 175 East 3rd at St. Georges St., North Vancouver died of a sudden heart attack on October 13, 1999. The funeral services will be performed on October 30, 1999 at 12:00 noon at 14660 - 72nd Avenue, Surrey, B.C. He will be deeply missed by his family.

ROBERTSON - Isabella Baldie Robertson of West Vancouver and earlier North Vancouver died Monday, October 25, 1999 at Lions Gate Hospital. Born June 6, 1909 in Vancouver, daughter of Robert Kay and Margaret McGill Kay. Beloved wife of William Turner Robertson (died 1992), long-time employee of the The Province and Pacific Press; mother of Elizabeth M.J. Robertson (Lautens) and much respected mother-in-law of Trevor Lautens; loved and loving "Grandma" of Kate, Daniel and Berta; sister of Margaret Gillies, Nanaimo. The family deeply appreciates the West Vancouver Fire Department's and B.C. Ambulance Service's help. Service 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 29, 1999 at North Lonsdale United Church, 3380 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver, Reverend Dr. Donald Faris officiating. Flowers gratefully declined; donations appreciated to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation. Burial of Saturna Island.

RUDD - Margaret Joan passed away October 22, 1999. Survived by loving husband Victor, daughter Julie (Martin) and grandchildren Morag and Morgan. Margaret was full of love and vitality and will be sorely missed by many family and friends here and in England. Our beloved husband, father, & grandfather will be deeply missed by his wife Eileen, son Daryl, Daughter-in-law Jacqueline, son-in-law Bill, grandchildren Rob, Tammy, Deanna and Tara. His sister Adeline Clarke, nieces Betty Shepherd and Wendy Livingstone, nephew Doug Clarke. His extended family. Sister-in-law Marg Cupit, Brother-in-law Frank Curry, nieces & nephews. BAYNE - Violet. A long time resident of West Vancouver, B.C. born in Notch Hill, B.C., March 15, 1909, passed away peacefully October 26, 1999. Predeceased by husband, Doctor Alf Bayne, she is survived by many loving relatives and friends. BURNARD - Alexander Francis. Born in Vancouver on September 7, 1913. Passed away peacefully in North Vancouver on Monday, October 25, 1999. Survived by his loving wife Mary Thelma, North Vancouver; his son, Ron (Rennaye), Edmonton, Alberta; his granddaughters D'Arcy and Melanie; and by his grandson David. CLARKSON - Mildred, age 85 years passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital on October 17, 1999. Survived by her step-daughter Joan (Bob) Gemmell and her special family Alda and George Hack; their sons Cy, Rob, Stan and Steve as well as many dear friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Geoffrey. A memorial tea will be held to celebrate her life at the Park Royal Hotel at a later date. PROCHNICKI - Evelyn Mae. Born August 24, 1926, 73 years. On October 19, 1999 our loving mother went to join her husband, Nicholas, in heaven whom had been waiting for her since August 23, 1999. Evelyn and Nick will be greatly missed by (son) Brian, (daughter-in-law) Colleen, (daughter) Janice, (son) Kent, (daughter-in-law) Rose, (daughter) Barbara, (son-in-law) Martin, (daughter) Cathy and (son-in-law) Bernie. They were also greatly cherished by their grandchildren Jennifer, Shawn, Heather, Steven, April, Devon, Leah, Jacqueline, Philip and Tara. Many friends and family have been touched by Evelyn and she will be shining in their hearts forever. We would all like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Evergreen Hospital "2 North" for your love, patience and caring of our mother and friend. We would also like to thank Marlene for her love, caring and dedication to our mother and her friend. SAYLE - Irene Peggy. Passed away on Friday October 22, 1999. Born in Shanghai China on May 18, 1913. Peggy was the eldest of seven siblings to whom she was always loyal and extremely helpful. During WWII from 1941 to 1945 members of the Sayle family were interned in the Lungwha Camp. Afterwards they emmigrated to Canada and settled in Vancouver in 1946. For many years Peggy worked for the Ceremonies department at UBC where she was responsible for organizing all official functions and she retired in 1978. Peggy is survived by one brother Gordon, numerous nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces and one great grand niece. She has always been a loving and devoted aunt and has taken great interest in all the Sayle children. Peggy will always be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all her family and friends. Memorial services will be held in St. Francis in The Wood Church located at 4773 Piccadilly South, West Vancouver on Thursday November 4, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the service. Donations may be made to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation in lieu of flowers.

PEARCE - Doris.
The many north shore friends of Doris will be saddened to learn of her recent death. We, her women friends from the West Van office, Crest Realty, of the 1970's will miss her greatly.

BLACK - Irene White (nee Wands). Passed away peacefully on October 18, 1999 at the Lions Gate Hospital. Irene is survived by her loving husband Doug, daughters Catherine and Fiona, sister Isobel and sister-in-law Darla. A celebration of Irene's life will be held at her home on Sunday October 24, 1999 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The family wish to extend a special thanks to Drs. Bryce, Burak, Janzen and Squire for the care provided. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Irene's name to the charity of your choice. Cremation.
