LIESBETH ROSCHE
Peacefully, Liesbeth Rosche passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 in the Grunthal Menno Home, at the age of 85 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three sisters, Margaret, Lily and Rose (Jake); five brothers, Henry, Ernie (Beatrice), Bill (Leona), Frank (Betty) and Daniel (Martha); as well as many nieces and nephews, who will always enjoy their special memories of their Aunty.
She was disabled since the age of 14 years, but that did not stop her from making the most of her life. Liesbeth wrote many stories and poems, which appeared in the Carillon News and various other local papers. She loved to read, do crafts, sing, play music and spend time with her nieces and nephews when they came to visit.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, 10 a.m., at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy., with interment to follow in Glen Eden Cemetery.

SOLOMON W. PETERS
1934 - 2005
Solomon passed away Jan. 21, 2005 at Bethesda Hospital, at the age of 70 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Rosie Anne; three daughters, one son, and 11 grandchildren: Anita (Abe) of Paraguay, their son Kevin and his wife Elma; Ernie (Bonnie) of Kleefeld, Man., and their children Tracey, Justin and Kyle; Erica (Peter) of Kleefeld, and their children Kailey, Nigel, Brayton and Alaran; Perl (James) of London, Ont., and their children Nicholas and Chantel.
Solomon is also survived by one brother, Henry (Tina) Peters of Steinbach, Man.; six sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law.
He was predeceased by three daughters and one son; his parents, John and Anna Peters of Grunthal, Man.; seven brothers and two sisters.
The funeral service for Solomon Peters was held Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, 1 p.m., at the Sommerfeld Church, Hespeler St. South in Steinbach, with burial at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Cemetery.
Solomon, Dad, Grandpa, "You will be very dearly missed and our memories of you will be alive in us forever."

CASEY DANIEL PENNER
Casey was born Aug. 29, 1991. He was the first child born to Roland and Connie Penner.
At a very young age Casey began to enjoy and take pride in looking at books and doing puzzles. He was particular about the things he loved, and this meant his books were always very organized. Casey was an intelligent, healthy, happy little boy until he was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 2 1/2. He then underwent 3 1/2 years of intense treatment. At this time we were told that due to the treatment that Casey would receive he would also have brain damage. During these years we learned how brave Casey was as he accepted treatments as a part of his life. He made a lot of friends with the medical staff at the Cancer Clinic and Children's Hospital, and therefore never dreaded his visits to the hospital. As time went on we began to see that Casey's mental and physical development was not progressing like a normal child. In spite of all this Casey enjoyed life.
When Casey was 3 1/2 years old his brother Michael was born. Michael became Casey's pride and joy! Casey had many friends of all ages. He loved going to visit his friends or have friends come over to his house. Casey also had many interests. He continued to enjoy his books and puzzles, he loved watching videos and looking at pictures. He also loved music, and wore out many guitars (he called them banjos) as he played and sang. Casey also enjoyed doing things with his family. He loved to help his dad chase pigs in the barn or playing hockey in the basement with his dad and Michael. Planting a garden with his family was always fun too. He enjoyed animals and nature. One of the many fond memories his mom has was when Casey would get off the bus after school; he often came home with something in hand for her. Pinecones, stones, dandelions or something he had picked up along the way. This was something he learned from his dad, as they would go out together and come back with flowers they had picked for her. Anyone who knew Casey, knows that he was a very huggable, lovable boy.
Some of the highlights of Casey's life were his birthday and Christmas, and of course unwrapping gifts. The annual trip to the cabin was something he would anticipate the whole year long. Casey also enjoyed family vacations. Five days after Casey's 11th birthday his sister Jazmyn was born. She too became his pride and joy! During the last six months Casey was privileged to have two personal visits from Fred Penner and a visit from Uncle Harold, two of his heroes. They both came to entertain Casey with their stories, music and songs.
Just before Casey's 13th birthday he was diagnosed with a second type of cancer. Six months later, Jan. 19, 2005, with his parents at his side, Casey was released from his struggles and went to be with Jesus!
Many special memories will be held forever in the hearts of his parents, Roland and Connie Penner; his brother Michael and sister Jazmyn; as well as a very special cousin Lisa; his paternal grandpa, Martin Penner; and his maternal grandma, Elizabeth Reimer; many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Roland and Connie and their family would like to thank the Blumenort School staff and students for their support and friendship. They would also like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Yanofsky, and nurses, Kathy Bourne and Anne Plett, for all of their medical help and encouragement.
Casey was predeceased by his maternal grandpa, Erwin Reimer, and his paternal grandma, Justina Penner.
The funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 24 at the Ridgewood Evangelical Mennonite Church. Interment at the church cemetery.

1940 - 2005
It is with great sadness that we announce that Bill M. Reimer, beloved husband of Mary Anne, went to his heavenly home, surrounded by his loving family, Jan. 20, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 64.
His memory will be forever cherished by his wife of 41 years, Mary Anne; his four children, Kim (Don) Moore, Eunice (Tony) Falk, Kevin (Wilma) Reimer, Korine (Brad) Unger; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa, Alex, Colby, Chad, Connor, Maitlynd, Decklenn and Elijah and one more one the way. He is also survived by one sister, Martha (Joe) Thiessen of Armstrong, B.C.; and four brothers, Dennis (Dorothy), Ron (Margaret), Irvy (Anne) and Lewie (Shirley), all of the Steinbach, Man. area.
Dad was predeceased by one daughter, Candace, in infancy; and his parents, Frank P. and Helen Reimer.
Dad was born and raised in the Giroux/Blumenort, Man. area. He married the love of his life, Mary Anne Peters, Aug. 3, 1963. They farmed in the Blumenort area till 1995, when Dad began driving truck for P.B.X. and they moved to Steinbach. In December 2002, illness forced him into early retirement. He enjoyed gardening, yard work and spending time with his grandchildren.
Our family would like to thank Pastor John Neufeld and Pastor Russ Reimer for being at the hospital with the family during Dad's final hours. Also thank you to family and friends for their prayer and support.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, Jan. 26 at the Christian Fellowship Church, Steinbach. Interment at Heritage Cemetery.

Eleanor Derksen, aged 55 years, of Coquitlam, B.C., formerly of Steinbach, Man., beloved wife of Glen, dear mother of Madrece, Melody, Melissa and Meredith, and cherished daughter of Freda Janz, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005 in hospital at Port Moody, B.C.

DENNIS EARL PENNER
Peacefully, with loving family at his side, Dennis passed away March 5, 2005 at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home.Dennis will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughters, Janette Penner and Mike Young of Portage la Prairie, Man., Rachelle Penner of Winnipeg, Man.; and their mother, Laura Penner (nee Marion).He is also survived by his mother, Anna Penner; sisters, Irene and Frank Barkman, Dorothy Jones, Caroll and Erwin Kroeker; and brother Eric Penner and Bev Funk. He was predeceased by his brother Wesley in 1965 and his father Ben D. Penner in 1991.Dennis was born Feb. 20, 1936 in Steinbach, Man., where he received his high school education. Later he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Manitoba. Dennis was employed for 29 years as an Advertising Manager with Princess Auto, Winnipeg.His creative talent was displayed in his enjoyment of art. This included sketches, painting on various media, including acrylic on canvas, acrylic on wood, metal on wood, and throughout his advertising career. After his retirement he re-energized his artistic career. He created many more works of art using his distinct style. There were showings of his work in several Winnipeg galleries, with local television coverage, and at the Winnipeg Concert Hall for several weeks. Other showings were held as far away as Calgary, Florida and Mexico.He enjoyed traveling, worldwide, especially to Mexico, fishing in Northern Manitoba, and vacations with his family. PETER L. GIESBRECHT
Pete was born May 30, 1926 in Ile Des Chenes, Man. Mother and Father welcomed him Home March 2, 2005. He died suddenly while he was digging in a friend's garden. Pete is survived by three sisters, Margaret, Elizabeth and Mary; three sisters-in-law; as well as nephews, nieces and cousins.He grew up on a farm and pursued some sports, such as hockey. In the 50s, he attended Grace College of the Bible in Omaha, Nebraska. From there, he took the Oregon Trail to Salem, Oregon, where he opened a driver training school that lasted 30 years. His travels were combined with missionary participation. In the 90s he was involved in house-to-house calls in the Ukraine.As a family we grieve and miss him greatly, but hope to be reunited with him.The funeral service was held Thursday, March 10, 11 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Peacefully, with family at her side, at sunrise on Feb. 25, 2005, at the age of 89 years, in the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, Man., our beloved mother and grandmother left us to join her beloved husband Bill. Mom leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Norman (Buster) and Sandra of McMunn, Man.; two daughters, Diane (Ted) Krysko, also of McMunn, and Lorna (Carl) Feilberg of East-Braintree, Man.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arlie (Walter) Trowsdale and Sadie Trowsdale, both of Winnipeg, Man.; sister-in-law Verona Norris of Carman, Man.; one brother-in-law, Evert (Gertrude) of Winnipeg; and many nieces and nephews.Mom was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, William (Bill); her parents, Mary Anne and Norman Norris; brothers, Ormand, Arthur, Gordon and Fred; sister Vera Nakka; sisters-in-law, Anne Trowsdale, Lempi Norris, Anne Nakka, Gladys Haney; brothers-in-law, Ernest Nakka, Jack Haney, Hubert Haney, Chesley Trowsdale; niece Beverly Gourlay; and great-grandson Ethan Nakka.Mom was born Mabel Winnifred Norris in Winnipeg, Nov. 15, 1915. She moved with her family to the McMunn area in 1918. She attended school in McMunn. In 1937 she married William Nakka, who had come from Elma to teach in McMunn. They enjoyed a honeymoon in Europe, which had lasting memories. In 1938 they purchased the General Store in McMunn. Here they operated the store and post office with their family for many years. Nakka's store was known as the place to buy any necessities. In 1962 they built a restaurant and store on the Trans Canada at McMunn. They retired from the business in 1967.Mom was an excellent cook and it seemed she never used a recipe. We will all remember her delicious meals and her continuous supply of cookies. She loved curling and was one of the first to join when the curling club started in Falcon and later in Hadashville. Her hobby was knitting and crochet work and we have reminders of her handiwork all around us. The care of her children and grandchildren was of utmost importance to her. They brought much joy to her life and they all have many special memories of Mom and Granny.The family would like to thank Dr. Lemoine and the nursing staff of the Ste. Anne Ward at Bethesda Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. We would also like to thank the home care workers who cared for her before she entered hospital. What a blessing it is that God takes us when we can't take it any more. "We love you Mom. Rest in peace."A celebration of Mabel's life was held March 1 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel. A commemorative service celebrating the life of Jack Wolfe will be held at the Evangelical Free Church in Steinbach, Man., March 20, 2005 at 4 p.m. It will be a chance for loved ones and friends to reflect on Jack's life. A video of Jack's funeral will be shown, since some were unable to attend his funeral, which was held Feb. 21 in Calgary, Alta.

At Woodstock General Hospital, Woodstock, Ont., Thursday, March 3, 2005, Elizabeth "Libby" Callcott (nee Molnar) in her 84th year.Predeceased by her husband, Wesley Callcott (1983); infant daughter, Linda (1945); son, Daniel "Danny" (1999); parents, Elizabeth and Peter Molnar; brothers, Peter "Pete", Stephen "Steve", George, Dennis "Denny"; and sister, Mary. Survived by one brother, Joseph "Joe" and his wife Anna; daughter-in-law, Pat Callcott; grandchildren, Daniel, Jeffrey and Chrysta; sisters-in-law, Edna (Pete), Mary (Steve), Sylvia (George) and Dorothy (Denny). Also survived by an aunt, Herta Hajas; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Born in Hungary, Elizabeth was raised in Manitoba, where she married Wesley Callcott. They settled in the London, Ont. area, having operated General Stores at Mooresville (now vanished), Centralia and the Watford area. Libby was employed at the University of Western Ontario bookstore before her retirement. Ever the entrepreneur, Libby, after her retirement, coordinated many bingo bus tours to the United States. GLEN SMITH
With great sadness we announce the passing of Glen Smith on May 10, 2005.
Glen is survived by his wife Martha; son Geoffrey; aunts, Clara Bracken, Elinor Moen and Kaye Johnson; mother and father-in-law, Stanley and Barbara Romaniuk; sister-in-law Alice (Ron) Casson; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Maxwell in 1970 and his mother Gunda in 2002.
Glen was born on March 28, 1942 and grew up on the family farm in Greenridge, Man. He attended Greenridge and Dominion City schools. Upon completion of high school, Glen began an electrician's apprenticeship with Canadian National Railways. Glen and Martha married on Oct. 28, 1967 and son Geoffrey was born in 1972. Glen worked his entire career with CNR, taking early retirement in 1995.
Glen spent many weekends and summers at the family cottage on the Roseau River at Greenridge, where he enjoyed many days with family and friends.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 16, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with Reverend Bill Corkum presiding. A reception followed.

Ben Unger, 83, of Winnipeg, Man., passed away May 12, 2005 at St. Boniface Hospital. He was born Aug. 21, 1921 in the Niverville, Man. area.
Ben will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Helen. He is survived by two brothers, four sisters, numerous nieces and nephews. Ben was predeceased by his parents, Peter N. and Helena Unger; two brothers and two sisters.
A special thank you to the homecare workers and special friend Ria who lent support on a daily basis.

WESLEY FALK
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, son and brother, Wesley John Falk of Steinbach, Man., at the age of 47, May 17, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre, with his family at his side.
He was born Jan. 24, 1958 in Eriksdale, Man., where he lived until the age of 18.
He was predeceased by one brother in infancy and his mother, Susie (Brown) Falk, in 1985.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Lauren, of Courtney, B.C.; his father, Ben Falk of Steinbach; one sister, Gwen (Lorrie) Allary of Grunthal, Man.; six brothers, Gerald (Phyllis), Vern (Debbie), Ken (Sandra), all of Ashern, Man., Doug of Steinbach, Brian (Ang), Garry (Teresa), both of Mitchell, Man.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
