Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, May 5, 1999, Agnes Cantwell in her 85th year. Predeceased by her husband Lawrence in 1967. Leaving to mourn a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, Torbay. Funeral Mass on Friday, May 7th at 10 a.m. from Holy Trinity Church, Torbay. Interment at the old R.C. Cemetery.

Dodds, Agnes(nee O'Brien)

Passed away suddenly in Chico, California, August 11, 1996, aged 64 years. Predeceased by parents Sarah and Patrick; brothers: Oliver and Patrick; sister: Gertrude, Margaret and Genevive. Leaving to mourn her sad loss, husband Robert, Chico, California; sons: Charles (wife Shirley), Kentucky, Richard (wife Diane), California; daughter Patricia, California; 8 grandchildren; two brothers: Joseph (wife Catherine), Torbay, Nfld., Gordon (wife Florence), St. John's; sister Mary (husband Jim), Torbay; many neices and nephews in Nfld. Memorial Service to be held in Chico, California, Saturday, August 17, 1996.

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre Complex on Saturday, July 29, Charles F. Doyle of Burnt Cove via Tors cove, at age 79 years. Left to mourn: his loving wife Mary (nee Oliver); daughter Mary and husband Joe Ennis; sons, Patrick and wife Madonna, Stephen and wife Bernice; nine grandchildren; Jody and Jillian Ennis, David, Wanda, Denise, Evelyn, Charlene, Beverley and Bradley Doyle; three sisters: Mrs. Mary Briff, Cape Broyle, Mrs. Joan North, St. John's adn Clara and husband Will Walsh of Burnt Cove. Also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Remains resting at the residence of his daughter Mary at Burnt Cove. Funeral from St. Michael's Church, August 1 at 11 a.m.

Leaving to mourn with loving memories, his wife Mary (Barrington); four sons: Joseph, wife Janet and only darling grandchild Bryan, Torbay, Terry, Shawn and Curtis at home; two sisters: Rose Marie Manning, Mercedes Rogers (Michael), Torbay; brother Kevin (Joan), Flatrock; sisters and brothers-in-law: Edward and Rita Barrington, Patricia and John Healey, Don Barrington (Toronto), Tom and Lilo Barrington, Gregory and Liz Barrington, Kathleen and Dave Everson, Barbara and Mike Martin, Kay Barrington (nee White); nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, Torbay, 7 p.m. Thursday, August 8th and Friday, August 9th, 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 10 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Michael's Church, Flatrock. Interment at St. Michael's Cemetery, Flatrock.

Passed peacefully away at her daughter's residence in Kelligrew's on January 4, 1989, Ellen M. Burton, age 76. Leaving to mourn six sons [NB-only five listed - Tom] Brendan and wife Betty, Kevin and wife Jean, Ronald and wife Hazel, Gus and wife Stella, Rev. Br. David Burton; five daughters: Mary (Mrs. Jerry Penny), Patricia (Mrs. Wilson Butler) with whom she reisided, Gwynette (Mrs. Stanley Butler), Anita and Frank Oliver and Sharon (Mrs. William Hickey); one brother Joseph O'Brien of Torbay; one sister Agnes Cantwell of Torbay; 27 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Remains resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Funeral service at the Basilica fo St. John the Baptist at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 7. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Burton, Hazel L. (Baggs)

Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre, after a long illness, Hazel Burton, age 66 years. Predeceased by her husband Ron; parents Elfreda and Charlie Baggs; brothers: Ray, Cyril and George; sisters: Laura and Alma. Leaving to mourn sons: Ron (Carol), Don and Randy (Lol); daughters: Wanda (Mike), and Kim (Glenn); grandchildren: Nancy, Nicole, Megan, Michael, Amanda, Joshua, Sarah, Andrew, Jeremy and Stephanie; great-grandchildren: Elisa and Holly; sister Lorraine Farrell; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation is being held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday, March 17, 2005 from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, March 18, 2005 from Barrett's Chapel at 2 p.m. Inurnment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are being gratefully declined, donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Newfoundland and Labrador Lung Association. The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Harry Clarke, Dr. Michael Kennedy, doctors, nurses, and staff at the ICU at the Health Sciences Centre for their support and dedication, not only to our mother but to all of us as well. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of 4 South, who helped us with our difficult time. Also, special thanks to our Aunt Anita Burton and the George Families.

Leaving to mourn her husband, Gus, daughter, Ruth and husband Bill Price, Son, Robert and wife Marie, Loving grandchildren: Deborah Ann Price and special friend Marc Bolli, Deanne, Karen and Erin Burton. Very special nephew (Greg) Dr. G.F. Russell and wife Joan, Best friend Mary Vicars. Also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road. The funeral will take place from St. Teresa's Church at 9:30 a.. on Wednesday, December 6. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
