Ralph Henderson Steward
May 05, 1908 - September 23, 2003

Born May 5, 1908, passed away quietly on September 23, 2003 in Nanaimo following a brief illness.

Ralph was born in Winnipeg where he remained until moving to BC in 2001. He worked for many enjoyable years as an accountant for Toothill Greeting Cards and later for GSW Home Service. Ralph spent many hours golfing in summer and curling in the winter. He was an avid bridge player and belonged to several bridge groups. Ralph was a long-time member of Westminster United Church where he served as Treasurer for 22 years. His association with the church was extremely important to him and he cherished the many long-lasting friendships which he developed over the years at Westminster.

Ralph will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Lila of 62 years; his son, Neil (Margaret) of Los Angeles and his daughter, Claire (Rick) of Nanaimo, BC. Ralph is also survived by four grandchildren- Michelle, Megan, Brent and Shannon.

A Memorial Service will be held at Westminster United Church on Friday, October 3, 2003 at 11:00 am.

LABUTTE, Anna Marie (nee Vanni) 54 years, died Sept. 21, 2003, at Windsor, Ont. Beloved wife of Paul, of Windsor. Loving mother of Silvio Munoz, of Windsor; Monica Wilker, of Toronto; Fernando, Carlos, and Anthony Munoz, all of Windsor. Step-mother of Sean and Shannon Labutte, Sherri Malaquias and husband Jamie and Steven Labutte, all of Windsor. 17 grandchildren. Dear sister of 2 sisters in Argentina. Peacefully, at McMaster Medical Centre, on Sunday, August 10, 2003, in her 63rd year. Beloved wife of George. Dear mother of John and his wife Deepa and Andrea Mathew. Also survived by brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home Ancaster Chapel (378 Wilson St. East) on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Ancaster (corner of Fiddlers Green and Wilson St. West) on Thursday, August 14, 2003 at 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family wish to express their sincere thanks to the nursing staff at Bayshore Health Care, the Henderson General Hospital and McMaster Medical Centre. Loving mother of Kathie Kurtz (Guelph), Sara Kurtz and husband William Miller (Cincinnati), Lisa Kurtz (Toronto), Peter and wife Barbara (Oakville). Dearest grandma of Christian and Justine Miller; Jillian, John, and Daniel Kurtz. Also survived by her twin brother John and his wife Gloria Watterson (Kenora), Terry and his wife Joanna Watterson (Virginia Beach), and the late Douglas Watterson. Dear aunt of several nieces and nephews. In kindness donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Visiting will be held at The Marcotte Funeral Home and Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh (ph. # 519-735-2830) on Tuesday from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. On Wednesday August 13th, visiting will continue from 12 noon until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Chuck Cougram officiating. Cremation will take place with the interment of the Cremated Remains at Victoria Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family in prayer, at the Dundas Manor on Sunday, August 3, 2003. Beloved husband of Anita nee Elliott. Loving Dad of Barbara Black (Dave), Bob (Sandra), Laird (Elise), and Janice de Freitas (Trevor). Cherished Papa of Shari Westman, Julie Baker, Stacey, Wendy, Leslie, and Paula Weagant, Christy Griffin, Scott, Andrea and Tricia Weagant, Luke and Zachary de Freitas. Dear great- grandfather of Danika Westman, Cody and Sabrina Baker. Predeceased by brothers Cameron and Bev Weagant. Respected uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Fred was raised on a farm in Colquhoun, (near Williamsburg, Ontario). In 1947 he moved to South Mountain with his wife Anita where they purchased a general store. They laid the foundation of Weagant Farm Supplies in 1953. Fred's devotion to family and business was inseparable. He took enormous pride in both and his lifetime work evolved into one of Eastern Ontario’s largest farm equipment dealerships with stores in South Mountain, Winchester and Brockville.

Fred will rest at the Byers Funeral Home, Church Street, South Mountain, (613-989-3836) from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday; 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, High Street, Morrisburg on Thursday. August 7, 2003 at 11 a.m. Interment St. Lawrence Valley Union Cemetery. By family request donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the Dundas Manor Activity Fund.

Remembered by his brother-in-law Wayne Roach (Terry) and many nieces and nephews.

Dear grandfather to Michael and wife Michelle, Mark and wife Charlene, Jim and wife Cary, Shannon and husband George Paquette and Sue and husband Jared Chapman and great-grandfather to Mitchell, Matthew, Nicole, Kristen, Luke, Cassidy, Courtney, Karissa, Kiera, Cassandra and Ryan. Dear brother of Cecile Lacoursiere and her late husband Lionel, Barney and his late wife Edith and predeceased by brothers Alfred and wife Blanche, Steve and wife Veronica and sister Margaret Robinet. Brother-in-law to the late Louis Souilliere and wife Gladys of Tecumseh. Mr. Robinet was retired from Daimler-Chrysler as a Supervisor after 37 years of service, a Lifetime Member of thee K of C Council 4375 and a member of the C.N.I.B. for the past several years.

Predeceased by her husband Edward J. Crimmins (1971). Predeceased by her sisters Pauline Doyle and Margaret Renaud and her brothers James and Joseph Conley. Dear aunt of Eileen Johnston (Conley) and her husband Edward; Elizabeth Kalyn ( Conley) and her husband Jack; Patricia Essery (Conley) and her late husband Brian; Dolores Sumner (Conley) and her husband John; and Francis Conley and his wife Patricia, Mr. And Mrs. David Crimmins jr. of California and Mr. & Mrs. James Crimmins of CT. Many great and great great nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held at Villa Maria Rest Home from 9 a.m. Thursday July 31st, until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery. ANDERSON, DR. RICHARD (RICK) --It Is with great sadness that the Anderson family announces the death of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He died suddenly on Monday, July 28, 2003, at the HDG Hospital, Hotel Dieu site, surrounded by loving family and friends. Late of St. Joachim. Husband and best friend of Judy for 35 years, he is also survived by two sons, Joshua (Josh) and Debbie of Tecumseh; Joel and Jessica of Calgary; mother Eileen Anderson of Lambeth; four grandchildren, Emily, Jaime, Tristan and Alison of Tecumseh; sister Judy and husband Dan Kramer of LaSalle; nephew Mitchell; and sister-in-law Alison Patch of Bums Lake B.C. He was predeceased by son Jason (1991); father Raymond; brother Warren; and his Mother-in-law and father-in-law Reg and Emily Gray. Rick, S3, will be missed by a wide circle of friends and patients who he attended to with great skill, dedication and compassion. He was a highly-respected general and vascular/thoracic surgeon in Windsor hospitals for nearly a quarter of a century. He served two terms as chief of surgery at Hotel Dieu Hospital and a term as Chief of the Hotel Dieu Trauma Team. He and his wife Judy and their young family of three boys moved to Windsor In 1979 after graduating from medical school at the University of Western Ontario and doing his surgical residency at various London hospitals. He was the pioneer in Windsor for the laproscopic procedure for gall bladder surgery and later trained many other surgeons in the procedure which is now -common place in the profession. While attending high school, he was a founding member and lead guitarist in the rock band London Set which was popular throughout southern Ontario in the 1960's. He was a member of Beach Grove Golf Club where he enjoyed both golf and curling and was also an avid boater and fisherman. But most of all he loved being With family and friends where his sense of humor and zest for life were Infectious to all around him. Visiting Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service Will be held on Friday, August 1, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at The Marcotte Funeral Home and Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Rd, Tecumseh (735-2830). Mr. James Bruce and Fr. Paul Charbonneau presiding. A cremation will follow. As your expression of sympathy a donation to the Hotel Dieu I.C.U. Fund would be appreciated. 88 years, passed away with her family by her side at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus, on Tuesday, July 29, 2003. Beloved wife of 61 years to Wilfred M. Adam. Dear mother of Richard and wife Myrna, Ray and friend Juliet Munroe, Denis, Annette Phillips and friend Chuck Solly, Jerry and wife Deborah and Joe and wife Colleen. Sadly missed by fourteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Loving sister of Bernard Parent and Claire Fournier. Predeceased by a son Roger (2001) a daughter-in-law Karen (2001) brothers Louis and Paul and sister Marie Louise Ouellette.

Visitation will be held at the Janisse Bros-Marcotte 1139 Ouellette Ave. (253-5225) on Wednesday, July 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 p m, Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 with Parish Prayers at 7:30 p m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Friday, August 1, 2003 at 10:30 am with visitation from 10 am till time of mass at 10:30 am. Cremation. Louis "Lou" Anthony Merlo

MERLO, Louis Anthony "Lou" 84 years. Died on July 25, 2003 at Versa Care Riverside. Beloved husband of Lorraine (nee St. Louis) Windsor (62 years married). Loving father of Richard and wife Fran of Pierrefonds, Quebec. Dear "Pepe" of Katherine and husband Andrew Hirsh of Durham, NC, Anthony and wife Nathalie and Bruce, all of Montreal and great grandchildren Laura, Cameron, Alexander, Isabelle and Christopher. He was predeceased by two sisters Ann Cross, Evelyn Merlo and three brothers Roy, Victor and William Merlo. Mr. Merlo was Vice President of Sterling Construction and President of Sterling Building Materials until both companies were sold to Lake Ontario Cement Company in 1970. He was a member of Beachgrove Golf and Country Club, Windsor Yacht Club, a life member of K of C 3rd Degree Bishop John T. Kidd Council 4924, 4th Degree Dean Wagner Assembly, Order of the Albambra and Past President of the Windsor Construction Association. Special thanks to Versa Care Riverside Staff for their care and extended family members for their care and support. Visitation on Monday 2-5 and 7-9p.m at Janisse Bros-Marcotte Funeral Home, 1139 Ouellette Ave. (253-5225) with 3rd Degree Bishop John T.
