McDONELL, Joann Isobel - Peacefully at Glengarry Memorial Hospital, Alexandria, on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the age of 78 years. Joann Isobel McDonell of Alexandria, wife of the late Glendon McDonell; formerly of Greenfield. Dear sister of Edna Filion and the late Keith MacDonald. Predeceased by her parents Isobel and Allan MacDonald. Beloved aunt of Sheldon and Sally McDonell, Archie and Rena McDonell, Larry and Mary Filion, Peter and Barbara Filion, the late Brian Filion and Laurie Filion, David and Caroline Filion, Allan and Wendy MacDonald, Jayne and Tim Nash. She will be missed by her many great nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. Alexandria (613) 525-2772 on Friday, October 20, 2006 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Finnan's Cathedral on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 10 a.m. Interment, St. Catherine of Sienna Parish Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Brian Filion Memorial Fund. As a Memorial to Joann, a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. A tree grows- memories live.

Loretta Jean Beath

BEATH, Loretta Jean - Passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully at her home on Monday, October 16, 2006 at age 60. Loretta, beloved wife of Doug for 37 years. Devoted mother and best friend of Hilary Kaplinski and her husband John, and Alex and his fiancée Johanna. Survived by dear sisters Helen Gilliland, Grace Marsh and Kathleen Morgan, all of New Zealand. Loretta was an avid reader, writer, gardener, globetrotter and teacher. A Memorial Service will be held at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 3:00 pm. The Reverend Donovan Brown will officiate. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children (Oncology Department).

Nicole Elizabeth Ashley Curtis

CURTIS, Nicole Elizabeth Ashley - (Honour Student at St. Catharine College, Kentucky) - As the result of a motor vehicle accident in Springfield, Kentucky on October 13, 2006 in her 22nd year. Nicole, beloved daughter of Debra Nagge (David) of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Dean W. Curtis and Lynda Curtis of Peterborough. Best friend and loving sister of Kyle Curtis. Sadly missed by her grandparents Francis and Nancy Rooney and Olive and the late Walter Curtis all of Peterborough. Nicole will be sadly missed by her many aunts and uncle's, cousins and friends. Friends are invited to call at the KAYE FUNERAL HOME 'MEMORIAL CHAPEL', 539 George Street N., on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. (Parish Prayers 6:45 p.m.). Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, October 21st, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Raymond Rick officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fleming College Foundation to establish a bursary in Nicole's memory or to a charity of your choice.

Irene (nee Killoran) Jones

JONES, Irene (nee Killoran) - Passed away on Monday, October 16, 2006 in Scarborough. Beloved wife of the later Edward “Ted“ Jones. Daughter of the late Margaret and John Killoran. Loving mother of Margaret. Loved grandmother of Davin and Kaitlin. Loving sister of Inez Low. Irene was predeceased by her brother Jack Killoran; sisters Claire McCraw, Corinne Turcotte, Josephine O'Donoghue, and Kathleen Coderre; half-sisters Lorainne Crawford and Caroline Albright, and half- brothers Leonard and Harry Killoran and many nieces and nephews. Irene had a burning desire to tell family members about their grandmother Margaret Killoran's dedication to the family and so she embarked on a writing journey that would start at Ryerson and end with the production of her book entitled Out Of the Ashes. Excerpts from this book are contained in a book called The Great Fire Of 1922 that is in The Haileybury Museum. During Irene's busy life in Peterborough with her husband Ted and daughter Margaret she spent numerous hours doing community service. Irene will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Thursday at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday, October 20, 2006 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 1066 Western Avenue at Clonsilla Avenue. Interment will take place at Rosemount Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Parkinson Foundation would be greatly appreciated by Irene's family.

LEWIS, Keith - (retired from Bell Canada after 27 years) - Peacefully, at home in presence of his loving wife Kathy, daughter Cathie & granddaughter Lexie on Thursday October 12, 2006 in Campbellford at the age of 72 years. Loving husband of Kathy (nee Richards) and the late Barbara Lewis (1998). Loving father of Cathie Cappuccitti (Paul) & Robert Lewis ( Penny). Sadly missed by his grandchildren John Paul, Evan, Jessica, Alexandra, Jason, Peter, Jackson & Cecelia. Dear brother of David (Ann). Keith was the son of Dr. Harold Lewis & his wife Elizabeth. Brother in law of Ron (Eleanor) Edwards, John (Marlene) Morrison, Arlene Richards. Keith will be missed by his step mother Mrs. Kory Lewis of Victoria B.C. Sadly missed by his good friend Dave Evans. Keith will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews & dog Lew. The family acknowledges the special care provided by the VON with special thanks to Rosalie Burn, Heather Willerton & Rosemarie Boxall. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Campbellford Baptist Church, Grand Rd., Campbellford on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 11:00 am. Rev. Lionel Pye officiating. WOLFF, Richard - Passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga on Friday, October 13, 2006 at the age of 71 ending a courageous battle with cancer. Loved and missed by his wife Lee and his stepchildren Rick Lee (Sherry) and Bonnie Rogers. Cherished grandpa of Ryan, Raygen and Shannon. Dear brother of Edmund (Halina), Erica (Adolf) and Fritz (Cathy). Fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Wilhelmine and Heinrich, his brother Karl and his stepson-in- law Ray Rogers. Rick will also be remembered by his golf buddies and many friends. A Celebration of Rick's Life will be held on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at the LITTLE LAKE CEMETERY CHAPEL (915 Haggart Street, Peterborough). COSBY, Donald - Peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday October 17, 2006 at the Woolcott Wing of the Niagara Health System, Welland Site. In his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Anna (nee: Gobbi) for more than 51 years. Loving Father of Karen (Dwaine) Lombarczki, and Lisa Cosby all of Welland. Predeceased by his parents Murray and Vera Cosby, and Brother Allan Cosby. Survived by brothers Bruce Cosby of St. Catharines, Walter Cosby of British Columbia and Elgin Cosby of Wellandport, sisters Muriel Empey of Mississauga, Shirley (Lester) Culp of Ridgeway, Isabel Millward of St. Catharines, Bonnie (James) Roynon of Ridgeway, Sisters in Law Lousia Cicuto of Toronto and Maxine (John) Pastirik of Welland. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Don a veteran of WWII he was a member of the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve and was ranked as a Signal Man. DAVIDSON WALKER FUNERAL HOME; 152 Hellems Ave., Welland; have been entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Cosby. Friends may call on Thursday October 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Private Family service will be held at a later date. Carmella D'Onofrio

D'ONOFRIO, Carmella (nee Caperchione) – At the Welland Hospital on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the age of 80. She is reunited with her husband Carman who passed in 1991. She leaves many wonderful memories for her children Nick, Gary (Darlene), Linda Chiasson (Donald) Carmen, Doug, Ralph (Mary-Anne), and Karen Gosselin (Norm). Remembered with love by her grandchildren Courtney D'Onofrio, Betty-Joe and Ralph D'Onofrio, Sherry and Sean Chiasson, Ronald, Bobbi- Joe and Norman Gosselin, Claudia Weller- D'Onofrio, great-grandchildren Nathan, Alex, Taitianna, Marie, Sara, and her great-great- grandchildren Angel and Carmella. Dear sister of Susan Deveau, Edith Banjavich, Dora Yallin (Aldo), and Peter Caperchione (Joan). Also survived by her many nieces and nephews. Mrs. D'Onofrio was predeceased by her brother Ralph Caperchione, sister Marie Lunt, and grand- daughter Carrie Chiasson. Friends may call at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence 19 Young Street, Welland on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where a Vigil will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Rite of Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. As a memorial tribute, a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. Katherine Reuland (Labelle)

REULAND (Labelle), Katherine - Passed away peacefully at Leasure World Nursing Home, Toronto on Sunday October 15, in her 73rd year. Katherine was born in Tisdale Sask. resided in Welland and Toronto. She was a nurse at Sunset Haven and the Annex in Welland. She is survived by her children Guy LaBelle (the late Lizanne), Garth LaBelle (Laurie), Gary LaBelle (Ann), Denise Kahn (LaBelle). Dear sister of Phyllis Sabourin (the late Donald), Donelda McGratten (Maurice), Sarah LeePart (Doug). Predeceased daughter of Charles and Catharine Gervais, sisters Elizabeth, Myrtle Lillian, Nora, Theresa, brothers Martin, Eley, Laurence. She will be sadly missed by grandchildren Melanie, Heather, Micheal, David, Mandy, Grant and Stephanie LaBelle. Stacy, Renee and Robert Kahn, Grant and Blake Paul, Great- grandchildren Ryan, Joshua, Kayliegh, Connor, Kyra and Deanna LaBelle. At Katherines request there will be no showing, cremation will be taking place at Simple Alternative Funeral Home, Toronto. “ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever“

Dear son of Annette (Lalonde) Peterson and the late Paul Peterson. Dear brother of Denis and Michel Peterson both of Cornwall and Anne Marie Peterson (Trevor) of Ottawa. Resting at the Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613- 932-8482) from 2 p.m. Friday. Funeral Saturday, October 21, 2006 for Service in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 2 p.m. followed by cremation. Rev. Randy McCooeye of First Baptist Church officiating. The family will be in attendance from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 11:30 a.m. until time of Funeral on Saturday.
