Taylor, Jeanne Marie Theresa

Date of Death: November 11th 2002
TAYLOR - Died peacefully, Monday, November 11, 2002, at Lambton Hospitals Group - Continuing Care, JEANNE MARIE THERESA TAYLOR (OUIMET), age 83. Beloved wife of the late John L. Taylor. Dear mother of John (Kate), Vancouver, Deanna Ranson (David), Toronto, Kim Noppen (Jeff), Sarnia, Walter Clemens (Marina), Windsor. Loved by her grandchildren; Sherida, Suzanne, Stacey, Jeff, Jason and Erin. Predeceased by her parents Albertine & Seraphin Ouimet, sister Valeda Charman and brothers Dick, Rene and Meddie Ouimet. Jeanne was born and raised in Sarnia. She was a member of the Sacred Heart CWL and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62. She was an avid bowler with the Blue Bells and a dear friend of the 'Golden Girls'. Jeanne recently returned from an Alaskan cruise which she thoroughly enjoyed. She enjoyed her occasional Casino trips, her weekly outings with her niece Gail and her cat Sherbet. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church with cremation to follow. Special thanks to Dr. Richard Cheong for his compassionate care & support and to the staff of Cardiac Care, Palliative Care and especially Continuing Care for their loving gentle care and support, giving Mother a better quality of life for her journey home. Words cannot express our gratitude to Gail, Shirley & Joyce. Van Horne, Mildred Elizabeth

Date of Death: October 17th 2002
VAN HORNE - Quietly, in her sleep, Mildred (Mid) Elizabeth Van Horne (nee Burge), age 89, beloved sister, mother, aunt and grandmother passed away at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Facility in Waterloo on October 17, 2002. Mid is survived by her sister Gladys Allen of Sarnia, daughter Diane and son-in-law Murray Dick of Kitchener, granddaughters Sara of Cambridge and Emily of Kitchener. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews living in Canada and the United States. Predeceased by her husband Ken, her parents John Emil and Emma Burge, sister Evelyn Slater and brother Roy Burge. Mid was born and lived her whole life in Sarnia except for the last two years which she lived in Kitchener with her daughter and family. In her long teaching career, Mid taught at various schools in the Sarnia area and for over twenty years at Hanna Memorial School. In 1966 she earned her B.A. from the University of Western Ontario. She was an avid duplicate bridge player and had achieved the rank of Silver Life Master. For over fifty years she was a volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society. Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Central United Church. Brimmer, Olive Lucy

BRIMMER - At Vision Nursing Home on Wednesday, December 11, 2002. OLIVE LUCY MICKEY (BRENT) BRIMMER, age 78 of Sarnia. Loved mother of Peter and his wife Gwyn, Elora, Patricia and her husband Doug Chalmers, Sarnia, and Paul and his wife Heather, Sarnia. Dear grandmother of John, James, Michael, and Scott. Predeceased by her husband Charles Wag Brimmer (1995), brother Peter Brent (1997) and mother Lucy Forsyth (2002). Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 431 N. Christina St., Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 7-9 p.m. A service will be held in the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday. Cremation to follow with interment at a later date. Sage, Robert

SAGE - Peacefully, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Sarnia after a brief and courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 ROBERT F. 'BOB' SAGE, age 76 of Sarnia. Beloved husband of Mary 'May' (Walker), dear father of Nancy and her husband John Godwin, Guelph and David Sage and his fiancee Virginia, Mississauga. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Maude Sage and by a sister Ruth. Mr. Sage retired after 35 years of service with the Postal Service and was a life member of Union Lodge No. 380 A.F. & A.M., London. At Bob's request, there will be no funeral home visitation. Family interment of cremated remains will be at Lakeview cemetery at a later date. MUNDY - At LHG- Sarnia General Hospital, Mitton St., on December 12, 2002, WILLIAM JOSEPH HUGH MUNDY, age 90 of Sarnia. Beloved husband of Helen (Baechler). Dear father of Joe and his wife Nora, Scarborough, Mike and his wife Pam, Camlachie, Charlie, Sarnia and Mary Helen Morreale and her husband Ray, Sarnia. Grandfather of Christopher, Laura, Patricia, Mark, Kim, Andrew and Michael. Great-grandfather of Kyle and Madison Flamminio, and Kyle Mundy. Brother of Francis Mundy, Sarnia, Ellen Kerrigan, Wyoming, Sister Celestine(Margaret) C.S.J., London and Catherine McArdle, Montreal. Predeceased by brothers Carl and John and sisters Merrian Bennett and Eileen Marriott. Hugh was a life-long resident of Sarnia having attended Our Lady of Mercy School and SCITS. He was employed for many years by the Royal Mail Service in the mail car that ran between Sarnia and Toronto. Bridge and golf were his two favourite past-times. Hugh was a charter member of St. Peter's Church, past chairman of the St. Peter's School Board. He was a member of the City of Sarnia Roman Catholic School Board, the 3rd Degree Knight's of Columbus, longtime member of the Strangway Centre, Greenwood Golf Club, and the north Sarnia retirement club. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday where prayers will be offered at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16th at St. Peter's Church. Interment Our Lady of Mercy cemetery. Aunt of Louis Darczy and his wife Judy, Port Huron, Randy Darczy & his wife Sally Stephenson, Saudi Arabia, Lori & her husband John Pidick, Port Huron, Richard Darczy and Gloria Webb, Flint, MI and Margaret Sweeney & her husband Terry, and Douglas Lawson, Perry Sound. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Loving father of Suzanne Rebstock, Sarnia and Carolyn Sonier, Sussex, New Brunswick. Dear grandfather of Amy Coats & husband Malcolm, and Jennifer Randall & husband Kevin. Great-grandfather of Nolan & Lucas Coats and Baylie & Bryce Randall. Brother of Donald & Claudette Sonier, Sarnia, Robert & Theresa Sonier, Theresa & Roger Taillefer, Gerald Taillefer, Madeline & Willie Cauchon, and Yvonne Prince, all of Timmins, Dianne McConnery, Sarnia, Eugene & Marge Taillefer, Sarnia, and Giselle & Edmond Hache, Petawawa. Predeceased by son Danny, parents Joseph Sonier and Emelda Taillefer, and sisters Rita Bilodeau and Laura Fortier. Ed was a member of St. Benedict's Church for over 40 years, and was a WWII veteran serving as a sergeant in the army. Mr. Sonier worked over 40 years for Fiberglas Canada. Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2003 celebrated by Fr. Rick Janisse at St. Benedict's Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until time of mass. Dear father of Cynthia, Ancaster and Teena and her husband Ken Cowan, Sarnia. Brother of William Busch, Powassan. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in laws. Predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters. Mr. Busch served with the Royal Canadian Army during W.W. II. He retired from Imperial Oil in 1978 after 34 years service.
