Daryl is sadly missed by his loving wife Brenda; and his daughters, Candice and Megan; and by his parents, Larry and May Ritchie of Regina; his sisters, Linda of Melville, Saskatchewan, Leesa of Sebring, Florida; his brothers, Leslie and Alan of Edmonton, Ronald of Saskatoon and Laird of Warman, Saskatchewan; his father and mother-in-law, Adolph and Mary Goettel of Edmonton; his brother-in-law Aaron of Edmonton; and his sister-in-law Carol of Lacombe, Alberta. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Florida. Daryl enjoyed a long and distinguished service with the Canadian Armed Forces reserves, reaching the rank of Major. Daryl had achieved many successes in life receiving his law degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He was recently admitted to the Alberta Bar and entered into private practice. Daryl lived his life for family and friends. A kind, generous man who will be missed by those he touched. SCHMIDT -- Harold Henry Schmidt, beloved husband of forty-one years to his wife and best friend Helen, passed away on December 5, 1997 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 65 years. Besides his loving wife, Harold is survived by his two sons, Darcy and his wife Kelly and granddaughter Madyson, and Daryl and Paula. He is also survived by his brother and sisters, Emily Twardy, Carol Plett, Ernie (Verena) Schmidt, Anne Schmidt, Jean (Elmer) Pagens; his mother-in-law Katie Jaworenko; and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three sisters, five brothers and by his parents, Jacob and Louise Schmidt. Harold was born in Vanguard, Saskatchewan. For seventeen years he worked for Union Packing until he started Harold Schmidt Electric in 1969, until his passing. Harold belonged to the Elks Lodge and Golf Club, I.B.E.W. and bowled for thirty years. WYNES -- Frances Barbara Wynes of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Saturday, December 6, 1997, at the age of 83 years. Frances was born on March 18, 1914 in Dawson City, Yukon. She has resided in Calgary since 1965. Frances was a member of the Eastern Star North Star Chapter No. 34. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all. Frances will be remembered by two sons and a daughter-in-law, John Wynes and Reg and Carolyn Wynes; two daughters and a son-in-law, Barb Fink and Kathy and Julius Kipke; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; as well as a sister Bernice Reid of Coquitlam, BC. She was predeceased by her husband Reg on June 7, 1964, and three brothers. She will be remembered by her friends as being happiest when she was driving her car. BURGESS -- Alfreda Doris Burgess passed away following a brief illness at Foothills Hospital on December 7, 1997 at the age of 85 years. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Sally Burgess of Oliver, BC; a daughter and son-in-law, Darleen and Ron King of Calgary; a son-in-law Dan Lucey of Calgary; eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; as well as two brothers and three sisters. Born February 23, 1912 near Cardston, Alberta, Doris was one of nine children who spent her younger years in Cardston. She moved to Calgary with her family some ten years prior to the death of her husband Dick in 1964. She was also predeceased by two daughters, Joy Burgess and Carol Lucey. DOVER -- George Suffell passed away at the Bethany Care Centre on December 7, 1997 at the age of 89 years. George is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth of sixty-five years; and his two sons, George (Gwen) of Winnipeg, and Bill (Darlene) of Vancouver; and his three daughters, Betty (Jake), Joan (Vic) and Pat (Charlie), all of Calgary. George is also survived by twenty grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren, and three sisters. George is an honorary member of Greater Forest Lawn Seniors Club. He worked with the T. Eaton company in Winnipeg, retiring after thirty years of service. George will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
