RATZLAFF - Maria
1918 ~ 2006
Maria Ratzlaff of Calgary, passed away peacefully with her loving children by her side, at the Peter Lougheed Centre after a brief illness on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at the age of 87 years. Maria was born on August 1, 1918 to Leonhard and Anna Ratzlaff in Deutsch - Wymyschle, Poland. Maria married David Ratzlaff, her husband of 61 years, on July 8, 1944. She was predeceased by her loving husband on November 5, 2005, parents Leonhard and Anna, sister Hulda and brothers Richard and Erich Ratzlaff. Maria is survived by her three sons, Oly, Bruno (Linda), Kurt, daughter Gerda (Sami) Tawfik and granddaughter Edith Ratzlaff. She is also survived by numerous brother and sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews whom she held dear to her heart. Maria is deeply loved by her family and friends and will be sadly missed. Funeral Services will be held at the Highland Mennonite Brethren Church (4018 Centre B St. N.W.) on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with a Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Frank LaDuke, loving husband of Linda (Alida) passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at the age of 93 years. He is the cherished father of Marcel LaDuke, Joan (Andy) Nadon and Garth (Rose) Caron as well as his faithful friend “Jed”, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends, young and old. Franklin served in WWII in Europe and was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ogden Branch #154 and the Calgary Horseshoe Club. MCDOUGALL - Raymond, passed away at home on June 11, 2006, at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his brother, Les; sister Zelma (Elie) Hannawich, as well as numerous extended family and friends. Raymond was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Marion; second wife Shirley, and two brothers. NAOMI MAY DOLAN
May 11,1919 – June 17, 2006
Naomi passed away peacefully at the Beverly Centre Glenmore, at the age of 87 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Alexander James Dolan; her daughters Maureen Pearson and Sheila Dolan and her son Terry Dolan. She is also survived by her grandchildren Greg (Roxanne) Pearson, Brian Pearson and Carol (Ryan) Hofer and four great grandsons Brodie, Tyson, Zachary and Owen. Naomi was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always placed others before herself. We will miss her sense of humor, her caring ways and her support. A private family service with interment to follow will be held next week. Flowers gratefully declined. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Douglas James Russell at the young age of 47 years. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his brother, Derrick (Ursula); nephews, Steve and Owen; niece, Lauren; father, Ed (Louise); extended family, Kristelan, Karon, Hazel, Bill and Will as well as numerous other family members and many friends. He was predeceased by his loving mother Lillian. Doug was born in Calgary but lived his life and worked in all corners of the province. His love of sports and family will always be remembered and missed. Joseph Henry, Mardi’s best friend of 28 years, passed away after a brief battle with cancer. Besides his loving wife, Joe is survived by four daughters, Candace Bergen, Janice Dickson, Kathy (David) Spratt, Lori Jo (Sam) Amberiadis; nine grandchildren; and sister Diane (Neil) Pfeifer as well as many dear friends. CRICHTON - Lise Crichton of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on June 21, 2006, at the age of 62 years. Lise will be lovingly remembered by: her mother, Margaret Bouchard; her children, Scott (Gwen), Sean, Leah (Jason Campbell); her grandchildren, Daniele, Trent, Rylee, Krystina and Grace; her best friend Neil Crichton; two brothers, three sisters and numerous other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father Fern Bouchard. “Madame” was a well loved and respected teacher at George McDougall High School in Airdrie. Her life impacted thousands of students and she was able to remember every one of them. Most importantly she was a dedicated mom and an enthusiastic grandmother.
