Arcand, Allan “Richard"

Richard Allan Arcand of Alexander passed away at the age of 71 years.

Richard is survived by Isabel; his children: Robin ( Shelley), Frank (Corrine), Anita Makokis, Dwayne (Tana), Darcy (Theresa) and Kurt Burnstick (Marsha); foster children: Julie Alexis and Miriam Alexis; his 17 grandchildren and 7 Chapons; his siblings: Martin (Melvina), Rupert (Linda), Sylvia Greenway, Doris (John) Calliou, Adele Arcand and Gloria (Bernie) Makokis; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family many who hold a very special place in Richard’s heart as well as many, many friends He was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Christine; Brothers: George (Speedy) and Edward; sisters: Mildred Callihoo and Phyllis Makokis; Son, Dalton and grandson, Richard Vernon Makokis (3rd).

We the Family would like to express our thanks and gratitude to the Alexander Elders’ Lodge and all their staff for the endless hours of care and support during our father’s stay.

A Funeral Service will be held at Alexander Community Hall, Alexander, Alberta on Thursday January 09, 2014 at 10:00 AM, with Rev Les Kwiatkowski, OMI officiating. Wake and Prayers will be held at the Community Hall starting at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, January 8th, 2014

Fuller, Beatrice Eva

On January 01, 2014 Beatrice Eva Fuller of Sherwood Park passed away at the age of 73 years.

Beatrice is survived by her loving family: her six children: Robert (Mae), Wilma (Shane), Randy (Nancy), Gloria (Rob), John (Dianne) and Rhonda (Murray); her eight grand children: Nelson, Curtis, Robyn, Samartha, Jordan, Braden, Matthew and Cadence. She was predeceased by her parents, Oliver and Marguerite Laframboise, as well as two sisters: Theresa and Norma

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples,10821-96 Street, Edmonton, Alberta on Tuesday January 07 2014 at 11:00:00 AM, with Reverend Les Kwiatkowski, OMI officiating.

ALLARIE, Etienne Joseph

January 8, 1923 - January 8, 2014

Etienne formerly of Jarvie, AB now of Sherwood Park, AB passed away peacefully at the Norwood Hospice in Edmonton on his 91st Birthday.

Etienne was born in an Edmonton hospital and lived in Jarvie most of his life. He attended school in the Morinville convent until grade 7 and then went to St. John’s College in Edmonton. He received his Business training at the Jesuit College in Edmonton before returning to Jarvie, to work with his father in Allarie’s General Store in 1940. He married Marie Claire Rivest on February 26, 1946 and they had 10 children. Etienne loved working the farm that his father owned and he continued with the farms even after retiring from the Store. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Claire; his children: Louise (Cris) Cox, Catherine (Terry) Chevalier, Marguerite (Ken) Hawes, Denis (Gail) Allarie, Anita (Denis) Desranleau, Therese (Byron) Collin, Paulette (Darryl) Deibert, Ida (Greg) McGlone, Pat (Scott) Hamilton; daughter-in-law Rosemary Kyle; twenty four Grandchildren; eighteen Great Grandchildren; five brothers: Maurice (Henrietta), Arthur (Pauline), Alcide (Esther), Paul (Yvonne), Louis (Joan); one sister, Therese Nelson; two sisters-in-law: Rita and Mary and numerous other family and friends. He was predeceased by his son Robert on April 27, 2013; his parents, Arthur and Maria; five brothers; Leo, Armand, Alphonse, Roger, Teddy; sister-in-law, Annette and brother-in-law Edwin Nelson. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Home Care at Summerwood Village and the staff at Norwood Care Centre for the care given to Etienne.

A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 7:00 PM; Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday January 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Both services at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 13 Brower Drive, Sherwood Park, AB. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass. MacCarahan, Brian Ernest

With heavy hearts the family of Brian MacCarahan of Westlock, AB announces his sudden passing on January 11, 2014 at the age of 64 years.

Brian is survived by his loving wife, Cathy; two daughters: Shirley (Kevin), Lori (Kevin); seven grandchildren: Mitchell, Dylan, Emma, Tyler, Kyle, Kennedy, and Jackson; three nephews: Jimmy (Elaine), Billy, and Doug (Heather); as well as other relatives and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Florence; one brother, Jim; one sister Laverna and one sister-in-law, Clara.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Westlock Alliance Church, 9607-100 St. Westlock, AB with Pastor Ralph Rintisch officiating. Interment to follow at the Westlock Cemetery, Westlock, AB

POWDER, Ronald Lawrence

On the January 11, 2014 Ron Powder of Alexander, Albert passed away at the age of 57 years.

Ronald is survived by three brothers: Gabe (Dorothy), Paul, Lorne (Stephanie); one sister: Dorothy (Lance); his Aunt, Catherine Paul; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Theresa Powder; one sister, Vicky Ridley.

A wake will be held starting at 4:00 pm on January 14th, 2014. A Funeral Service will be held on January 15th, 2014 at 10:00 am all in the Alexander First Nation Community Hall. Interment will follow in the Alexander First Nation Cemetery

Hiekel: Claude Henri Roger

On January 16th, 2014, Claude Hiekel of Westlock passed away at the age of 65 years.

Claude is survived by his wife, Mary; one brother, Gerrard; one sister Florence (Thierry); one cousin, Dominique (Jean Pierre); four stepsons: Scott (Joanna), Jason (Leah), Cory (Jessica) and Tyler (Lisa); numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Fernand and Jeannine Hiekel.

DECHAMPLAIN, Dianne Bertha

It is with heavy hearts the family of Dianne DeChamplain of Rochester, AB announces her passing on January 23, 2014 at the age of 63 years.

Dianne is survived by her loving husband, Emile; two sons: Matthew (Ida) and their children, Jenna and Lucien; Paul (Nichole); two brothers: Duncan (Diane) and Douglas (Darlene); one nephew, Trevor (Amber) and their children, Jaclyn and Natalie; one niece, Nikki (Ryan) as well as numerous other relatives and many friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Joan Hahn.
