KEELAN - Mr. John (Jack) Joseph Keelan passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on March 1, 2000 at the age of 81 years. Jack is survived by three daughters, Alice (Lloyd) Clarke, Georgina (Ben) Resch and Marilyn (Bud) Christensen. He was predeceased by his wife Mildred and a son John (Jack) Keelan. At Jack's request no Services will be held. Family members would like to thank the staff at the Foothills Hospital for the excellent care he received for the past five and a half months. McDONALD - John (Buck) Alexander McDonald passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on March 1, 2000 at the age of 77 years. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on January 12, 1923, John is survived by his loving wife Gladys; two daughters and four sons, Bernadette (Terry) Mitchell, Margaret (Larry) Morandi, Terry (Karen) of Perth, Australia, Don, George, and John (Krista) of Vancouver, BC; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by three brothers and four sisters. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard's Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Monday, March 6, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Gregory Coupal, Celebrant. MUCHKA - Mary Muchka of Three Hills, Alberta, passed away on March 2, 2000, at the age of 89 years. Born in Podbiel, Orava, Slovakia, January 15, 1911. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1970. She is survived by one son and two daughters, Al (Margo) Muchka of Acme, Elsie (Ray) Berreth of Acme, Josie (Frank) Schwengler of St. Paul; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. NOWOGRODZKI - Mr. Peter Nowogrodzki, beloved husband of Mrs. Ewa Nowogrodzki of Calgary, passed away suddenly at his residence on March 1, 2000, at the age of 80 years. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by three stepdaughters, Anna (Edward) Samek, Calgary, Theresa (Joe) Trjanski, Calgary, and Mary Krasinski, Calgary; and his four grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Andrzej Nowogrodzki and his sister Anna Marszalek of the Ukraine. He was born and raised in Tarnopol, Poland. He was deported to Siberia and placed in a labour camp. He served with the Russian Army and later with the Polish Army during the Second World War and took part in the Battle of Monte Cassino. He came to Canada in 1946 and resided in Calgary since. He worked for Canada Packers for more than thirty years. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace (Polish) Catholic Church and the Polish Combatants Association in Canada Inc. SEATTER - Marjorie Edith, beloved wife of Mr. Ronald A. Seatter of Calgary, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at the age of 56 years. Besides her loving husband, Marjorie is survived by Ron's family, Allan and Joy, Monti and Beverlie, Bill and Wanda and Charlotte. Marjorie is survived by six grandchildren, Erin, Jordan, Merina, Alleson, Crystal and Anthony. She is also survived by one brother Murray and numerous nieces and nephews. Marjorie met and married Ron in 1983 while she was working for the City of Calgary Electric System. She later worked for the United Way before retiring with Ron to the countryside. Together, Marjorie and Ron spent many happy times travelling both overseas and throughout the United States with their constant companions, Zee Zee the cat and Barney the dog. SWANSON - (Cairns) nee MacGregor, Catherine Mae (Kathleen). Kay passed away quietly at her residence (Trinity Lodge) in Calgary on Thursday, March 2, 2000. Kay is survived by a daughter Coleen (Wallace) Wiebe and a son Michael (Connie) Cairns of Calgary; as well as five grandchildren, Peter Wiebe of Minneapolis, Rebecca (Dean) Chynoweth of Salt Lake City, and Paul, Jonathan and Terry Cairns, all of Calgary. She is also survived by a brother Charles (Pat) MacGregor of Calgary; cousins, Violet Wilson of Calgary, Val (Ron) Edmonds of North Vancouver and Jean (Don) Fleming of Sacramento; brother-in-law Desmond Cairns of Edmonton; and sister-in-law Mary Jane MacGregor of Nashville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Kay was born in Calgary and spent her childhood and teens on the family farm near Granum. She later lived in Calgary and worked for Eaton's as a sales clerk and later as a secretary for the Royalite Oil Company. She married Terry Cairns in 1942. Terry was stationed in Calgary with the RCAF until 1945 when they settled in Granum. Terry passed away in 1971. Kay was predeceased by her second husband Elmo Swanson in 1993. She is also predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth MacGregor (1921) and John MacGregor (1978), her mother Nettie (1944) and her father Alex MacGregor (1971). She took an active role in the community, serving on the Granum Town Council, twice serving as Worthy Matron with the Perfection Chapter No. 31 of the Order of the Eastern Star of Canada. Kay was the organist at the Granum United Church for over forty years. THOMAS - Jean (Grami) Jean was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, on December 14, 1909 and passed away in Edmonton on March 2, 2000, at the age of 90 years. Jean is survived by two daughters, Lynn (Ken) Bryan and Peggy (Doug) Atkinson; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother Donald Morrison and one sister Maude Eyres; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jean is predeceased by her husband Herb. WARRING - George Ralph Peacefully after a lengthy illness, on March 1, 2000, at the Charlotte County Hospital in St. Stephens, New Brunswick, with family by his side. He was 76. Former R.C.A.F. Pilot and Professional Engineer with Sheldons Engineering and Novenco. Predeceased by his wife Patricia Evelyn (Stewart). Survived by his loving children, Peter of Calgary, Alta., Rob and his wife Kim of Smiths Falls, Ont., Susan and her husband Gilles Leclerc of St. Andrews, N.B., and Catherine and her husband Chris Davies of Calgary, Alta. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Sean and Meghan of Smiths Falls; his sister Helen Charleton and his brother Bill both of Cornwall. Ralph was a devoted husband and father and an avid gardener and golfer. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorial Service for Ralph will take place on Friday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pinecrest Cemetery Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa.
