Denise Mae (Orr) Bryant of Black Diamond, Alberta, formerly of Shelburne, Ontario passed away at Oilfields General Hospital, Black Diamond on March 2, 1999 at the age of 51 years. She is survived by her loving husband Jim; sons, Dwain and Jeffery Orr; grandson, Jordin Orr; mother, Lily Kellow; four brothers, Ralph Kellow, Dave (Helen) Kellow, Norm (Kathy) Kellow and Robert (Lisa) Kellow; and one sister, Sandra McArthur. Denise was predeceased by her godmother, Edna Kirkpatrick in 1995 and her father, Ernest Kellow in 1998.
Denise began her career as a Registered Nurse's Assistant by attending the Ontario Nurses College and graduating from their program in 1971. Upon graduation she returned to her hometown to nurse at the Shelburne District Hospital where she was employed until 1987. In 1987 she moved to Alberta and worked at Foothills Hospital until moving to Black Diamond in 1988. From 1988 until the time of her passing, she was employed at the Oilfields General Hospital where she made many wonderful friends and acquaintances.
Funeral services were held at Lewis Memorial United Church, Turner Valley on Saturday, March 6, 1999 at 2 pm. The Reverend Paul Rumbolt officiated the service. Interment followed at Foothills Cemetery, Black Diamond. If so desired, donations may be made in Denise's memory to the Oilfields General Hospital Foundation, Bag 1, Black Diamond, Alberta, T0L 0H0. Clifford Earl Orum
Clifford Earl Orum, eldest son of Harry and Pauline Orum born March 13, 1938, passed away last Friday, September 17, 1999, on his way home to Arizona after visiting with family and friends here in Alberta.
Earl was first married to Vera Abar in October, 1958 and resided in the Square Butte area west of Millarville. Together they had 3 sons and 1 daughter. He worked for Kendal's sawmill then later on started in road construction to become owner/operator of Orum Construction for 35 years.
In the fall of 1995, Earl retired from the construction business and relocated to Sierra Vista, Arizona. There, he was remarried in January, 1997 to Mary Doran.
Earl will be sadly missed by his wife Mary, his children; Terry, Brian, Kevin and Wanda (Langrock). He was also survived by 2 stepdaughters, 9 grandchildren, one brother and 2 sisters.
Funeral services were held in Sierra Vista Tuesday, September 21, 1999 at the Hatfield Funeral Home. Also a memorial will be held in Alberta at the Square Butte Community Hall for family and friends starting at 2 pm.
James Ray McInnis
Mr. James Ray McInnis, born June 3, 1908 in Elm Creek, Manitoba, second son of James and Bertha McInnis, passed away peacefully on September 18, 1999 at the Rising Sun Long Term Care, Black Diamond.
He is survived by his wife Doris of Turner Valley; son Bert of Ottawa, Ontario; brothers Earl (nickname Happy) (wife Molly), Charles (nickname Jigs) (wife Doris) and Carman (wife Doris); sisters Marion (husband Slim) and Jean (husband Bob); grandchildren Kara Fleming of Kingston, Ontario, Bert McInnis and Hugh McInnis of Ottawa, Ontario and great grandchildren John and Islay Fleming of Kingston, Ontario. He was predeceased by his first wife Ethel in 1982 and brother Colin (wife Helen) in 1993.
James was a grain buyer in Manitoba and moved to Turner Valley in 1943 where he worked in the Gas Plant until he retired in 1973.
At his request there will be no funeral service held. His ashes will be interred at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Rising Sun Long Term Care, Bag #1, Black Diamond, Alberta, T0L 0H0; Lewis Momorial United Church, Box 118, Turner Valley, Alberta, T0L 2A0 or to a charity of your choice. Daisy Henraitta Fariss
Mrs. Daisy Henraitta Fariss, formerly of Coventry, England, passed away at the High River Hospital and Nursing Home on Sunday, November 28, 1999 at the age of 86 years. Daisy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and John Rawlins of Okotoks. Grand-children, Kevin (Karen) Rawlins; Lesley (Keith) Beattie; and Karen Rawlins. Great grandchildren; Glyn Rawlins, Amanda, Michael, Cathleen and David Beattie. She was predeceased by her husband Percy Fariss.
Daisy was born on September 26, 1913 in Banbury, England. She came to Canada in 1990. She was a resident at the Sandstone Lodge in Okotoks in 1992. Funeral services were held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Okotoks, on Wednesday, December 1, 1999 at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Fr. Paul Orritt officiated. Cremation took place at Parklawn Crematorium, High River. Interment of the urn took place at the Okotoks Union Cemetery, on Friday, December 3, 1999 at 3:00 pm.

Edward Russell Mcclain
Edward Russell McClain of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the age of 72 years. Edward is survived by his wife Catherine McClain; children, Sandra Lomenda of Okotoks, Janice (Mark) Lomenda of Stettler, Lorrie (Jack) Lowen of Drumheller, Murray (Shauna) McClain of Calgary and Jerry Lomenda of Okotoks; stepchildren, Glenis (Allen) Currie of Black Diamond, Donna Vickery (Mark Kolke) of Calgary, Audrey (John) Third of Canmore, Gary (Julie) Vickery of Calgary, Janet (Kevin) Rude of Calgary, Muriel (Tom) Bek of Calgary and Claude Johnston of Calgary.
Ed had many grandchildren who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by Betty McClain, his mother Jesse Phillips, his father Russell McClain, brothers Donald and Clifford McClain and granddaughter Jillian Kemlo.
Ed was born on May 6, 1927. In his early years, Ed was self employed in the grocery store industry and then moved on to employment with the City of Calgary. He worked for the City of Calgary, Parks and Recreation Dept. for 25 years before retiring. Ed will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor and great love and dedication for his family. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
A memorial service was held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, 200 Woodgate Rd., Okotoks on Monday, Dec. 6, 1999 at 2 pm. Rev. Clayde Glass of Southview Alliance Church officiated. Interment of the urn followed at Okotoks Union Cemetery. Catherine Mombourquette
Mrs. Catherine Mombourquette passed away peacefully at the High River Hospital on November 28, 1999, at the age of 82 years. She will be sadly missed by her husband, George; cousins Mary Lague Primeau, and John Lague of Ontario. Catherine was predeceased by her parents Michael and Elizabeth Lague and brothers Lloyd and Michael. Catherine loved her home, animals and especially her dog, Tanya.
A funeral service was held at Jacques Funeral Chapel, (12700 Macleod Trail South), on Thursday, December 2, 1999 at 11:00 am. Graveside service followed at Queen's Park Cemetery. Norman Yamamoto
On November 20, 1999, Norman Yamamoto of Okotoks passed away at the age of 87 years.
He is survived by daughters, Audrey Devaleriola of Okotoks, Sharon of Spruce Grove, and Elaine of London, Ontario; a son, Alan of Calgary; five grandchildren, Lori Wiebe, Norman Devaleriola, Dana and Karla Yamamoto and Marcus Eisner; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Michael Wiebe.
Ethel Anna Lee
Ethel Anna Lee passed away peacefully on Jan. 30, 1999 at the Extendedcare in Vulcan at the age of 86. Ethel will be dearly missed by her loving family; daughters, Joyce Backs and Linda (Bud) Codd, all of Millarville; her grandchildren, Bev (Dave) Malek of Okotoks, Terry Backs (fiancee Penny) of Millarville, Brenda (Barry) Green of Sundre, Deb (Bill) Russell of Millarville, and Darryl Codd of Dallas, Texas; and her great-grandchildren who knew and loved her as GG, Jarod, Brody, Connor, Karlee, Colby, Dawson, Cori, Justin and Tanner. Ethel is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ethel was born January 30, 1913 in Midnapore, AB. She embraced a life filled with happiness and humour while actively working alongside her husband, Bill, and lending a helping hand to family and friends when she was needed. She received enjoyment from playing bridge and being outside and generally spending time with those she loved. Her positive approach to life and generous heart will be fondly remembered by her many friends and family.
Ethel was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill, in June, 1989.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Wade and the members and staff at the Vulcan Extended Care.
At Ethel's request, there will be no funeral services and donor arrangements are entrusted to University of Calgary Medical Science. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted by Extendedcare, Box 810, Vulcan, AB, T0L 2B0.
Robert Arthur Fox
Mr. Robert Arthur Fox, of Okotoks, passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on Jan. 27, 1999 at the age of 62 years.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Donna; his daughter, Liane (Dave) Gallant and their son Braden of Coaldale; and son, Raymond (Cheryl) Fox and their children, Tyne and Layne of High River; sister, Rae (Clayton) Jackson and their son, Lyle of Calgary.
Robert worked for Cominco Ltd. for 27 years prior to his stroke in 1985. Robert enjoyed his involvement with Windmill Theatre, the church choirs, and more recently with the Adult Day Support Program and his swim therapy friends.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the 3rd floor staff at the High River Hospital and the C.C.U. staff of Foothills Hospital.
Services were held at St. Peters Anglican Church, Okotoks on Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999 at 2 pm. The Rev. Fr. Paul Orritt officiated. Cremation took place at Parklawn Crematorium, High River.
