Harold Leslie Hardy
Mr. Harold Leslie Hardy, was born October 21, 1919 at Fraserton, Alberta and died February 28, 2000 at Black Diamond, Alberta at the age of 80 years. Harold leaves to mourn his wife of 49 years Jean; his children Kenneth (Linda) Hardy; Gordon (Joan) Hardy and their children Frank, Garth, Anneliese; Leslie (Arthur) McElroy and their children Christopher, Erin, Kimberly, Colleen, Timothy, Lara, Mark, Lee and Daniel; and Karen (Fred) Partridge and their children Scott and Kevin. Harold was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Millicent, sisters Kathleen and Winifred and brother Norman.
A memorial service was held at Lewis Memorial United Church, Turner Valley, on Friday, March 3, 2000 at 2 pm. The Rev. Paul Rumbolt officiated.

James Ervie Miller
Mr. James Ervie Miller passed away at home on March 23, 2000 after a lengthy illness at the age of 76 years. He was born and raised on a farm near Okotoks, moving to Calgary where he worked for the C.P. Railroad for 37 years. He retired in 1983 as a locomotive engineer. He was also a CB radio operator for many years and was known as 'Flatwheel.'
Jim leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Marjorie of 55 years; three sons, Ross of Cochrane and Garth and David both of Calgary. Jim is also survived by his mother Addie Gaunce of High River; sister Edna (John) Rothenburger of Winnipeg; brothers, Jack of Markerville and Bob (Pauline) of Okotoks as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Jim was predeceased by his dad Ervie in 1946, a brother, Bruce in 1975 and his stepdad, Ken Gaunce in January of 2000.
The family wishes to extend their special thanks to the doctors and home care nurses. By request there will be no funeral service held. Interment of the urn will take place in the family plots in Okotoks Union Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Home Care Nurses at P.O. Box 4016, Station C, 320 - 17 Ave. S.W. Dennis Ellis Littler
Mr. Dennis Ellis Littler passed away in Lethbridge, on Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at the age of 75 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Vivian Littler, of Lethbridge.
Dennis was born and raised in Nova Scotia. He enlisted in the armed forces during the Second World War and saw action in Italy, France and Holland as well as serving in the Occupational Army in Germany. After the war, Dennis returned to Nova Scotia. He wandered across Canada before settling in Southern Alberta where he was employed in the coal mines in the Crowsnest Pass. Soon after, Dennis began his plumbing apprenticeship in Calgary. In 1956 Dennis married Vivian Christianson and together they settled in Okotoks.
Dennis was very active in Baseball. As a young man he played triple A Ball and then turned to coaching, umpiring and managing. His love of the sport and the children who played it, helped him to earn some of the highest awards and honors the sport had to offer.
Besides his loving wife, Vivian, Dennis is survived by two daughters, Dawne (Barry) Raugust, of Wetaskawin and Cathy Littler, of Okotoks; two sons Michael (Colette) Littler, of Calgary and David (Valerie) Littler, of Valemount, B.C.; three grandchildren, Heather, Elizabeth and Patricia; one sister, Joan Wilson, of Toronto and two brothers, Danny and Lloyd Littler, of Toronto, Ont.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents William and Mary Littler.
Cremation in Martin Bros. Chapel of Peace. A private family service will be held in Archmount Cemetery. Gordon Harold Gough
Mr. Gordon Harold Gough, of Black Diamond, formerly of Okotoks, passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital with his family at his side on March 31, 2000 at the age of 64 years.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruth. His daughters Dawn (Karl) Roberts; Kim (Les) Quinton and their children Gordon and Stefanie; Joanne (David) Burton and their daughters Kristy and Karley; Nancy (John) deVries and their children Jessica and John, Patti Gough and her children Kacie-Lee, Chase and Cole. Gordon is also survived by his very special sister Marion Park and his aunt Edna Gough both of Toronto, Ont., brother Kenneth Gough of Calgary and several nieces and nephews in Toronto.
Gordon worked for the Town of Okotoks for many years as well as for Quigley Electric. He was a former trainer for the Okotoks Oiler Hockey Team. Gordon always loved a good card game, a horse race, or a good joke and will be fondly remembered by all for his sense of humor.
A memorial service was held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, 200 Woodgate Rd., Okotoks, on Monday, April 3, 2000 at 11 am. Ms. Marilyn Evans of the Okotoks United Church officiated. Marjorie Eileen Hoggan
Mrs. Marjorie Eileen Hoggan, (nee: Hume), of Turner Valley, passed away at the Oilfields Hospital on April 5, 2000 at the age of 79 years. Marge is survived by her brother Vic (Ruth) Hume of Cochrane, her special niece Christine (Bill) Law of Aldersyde as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
Marjorie called Turner Valley home since coming to Canada from South Wales in 1929. She worked as a butcher for a number of years with the family business, Hume’s Meatateria. Marge married Cecil Hoggan in 1937 and they enjoyed 52 wonderful years together. Marge was a member of the Turner Valley Legion - Ladies Auxiliary for 50 years as well as an active member of the Valley Neighbours Club. She was predeceased by her husband Cecil in 1989, her parents Louise and Fred Hume, her brother Wally Hume and sister Netta Russell.
A funeral service was held at St. George’s Anglican Church, Turner Valley, on Friday, April 7, 2000 at 2 pm. Interment followed at Foothills Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Griffin officiated. Elmer Andersen
Mr. Elmer Andersen, of Turner Valley, passed away at the Oilfields Hospital, Black Diamond, on April 6, 2000 at the age of 81 years.
Elmer will be dearly missed by his two sons, Tom (Cheryle) of Calgary and Don (Sandy) of Rocky Mountain House;his grandchildren, Steven (Deanna), Tracy and Tara (Jason); and his sister, Doris (Dan) Fraser of Calgary. Elmer was predeceased by his wife Ethel in 1997 and infant daughter Leona.
Elmer and Ethel farmed in the Standard area prior to moving to Turner Valley in 1949 and resided there ever since. Elmer worked for the Town of Turner Valley for many years. In his retirement, Elmer spent many days fishing at Chain Lakes with friend Dave Leman. He also enjoyed his gardening and woodworking and was generally found most days at the coffee shop socializing with friends.
A memorial service will be held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, 200 Woodgate Rd., Okotoks on Saturday, April 15, 2000 at 2 pm. The Rev. Paul Rumbolt officiating. Thomas Lyle Irving
Mr. Thomas Lyle Irving of High River, formerly of Okotoks, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on April 13, 2000 at the age of 82 years.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Tiny; his daughter Karon Livingstone and her children Lori (Tim) and their son Devon; and Glen and his son Jeffrey; sons Dale (Linda), daughter-in-law Marg and their son Tyler, Austin (Laurie) and their children Chelsey and Tracey, Don (Cindy) and their children Justin, Jamie and Matthew, Bill (Cheryl) and their children Christy and Kyle, Ronnie (Karen) and their children Lyle, Hailey, Ashley and Sierra. Tommy is also survived by his two sisters Mary and Marjorie; two brothers, Harry and Ernie; and his sister-in-law Lindy; as well as several nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his father Austin and mother Jenny; sisters Lorna, Sally and Shirley; and brothers George, Cecil and David.
Tom enlisted in the army on July 6, 1942 and was discharged March 14, 1946. Tom worked for the MD of Foothills for 35 years. He farmed with Imlers for a few years after he retired. He will be remembered for his love of family (which included more people than his immediate family) and for his great sense of humor.

Ronald Allan Boman
Ronald Allan Boman, formerly of Okotoks, went to be with our Lord on April 12, 2000 at the age of 61.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Monika; three daughters, Joanne of Lethbridge, Barbara of Richmond and Kim of Surrey; two sons, Doug of Lethbridge and Mark of Calgary; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ron is predeceased by Anne Boman (Mark’s mother) and his parents, Mary and Clarence Boman. Ron will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
