Jennifer Leigh Rhodes-Hamilton
It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic death of Jennifer Leigh Rhodes-Hamilton of High River, on August 22, 2001 at 24 years of age.
Jenny is survived by her loving husband Quinn, her children Tayler, Jaden and Elijah; her parents Jim and Jacquie Rhodes and brothers James (Robin) and Jordan. She is also survived by her birth mother Deborah, Tayler’s Dad and Grandma, Mark and Bonnie Mumby and by a large extended family who love her very much.
Jenny had one main interest in life - to be a great mom - and that she was.
A memorial service was held at Oak Park Church of Christ, 11263 Oakfield Dr. S.W., Calgary on Monday, August 27, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor John Nicholson officiating.

Elmer James Lamb
Mr. Elmer James Lamb, of Turner Valley, passed away at the Vulcan Hospital on August 23, 2001 at the age of 89 years.
Elmer is survived by his four sons, Gordon of Black Diamond, Lawrence of Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Garry (Debbie) of Mayerthorpe, and Denny (Bonnie) of Black Diamond also 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Elmer was predeceased by his wife Dolly in 1988.
Elmer was a rancher/cowboy in Saskatchewan and Southern Alberta.
A funeral service was held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Black Diamond, on Tuesday, August 28, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. The Reverend Father John Bastigal officiated. William G. (Bill) Simpson
Mr. William G. 'Bill' Simpson, of Okotoks, passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on August 20, 2001 at the age of 78 years.
Bill will be dearly missed by his wife Vera. His children, Elana Schumacher of Okotoks and her children Sara, Paula, John and Philip; Bill Simpson Jr. of Calgary. Bill is also survived by his brother Jack (Edith) Simpson of Nanaimo, B.C.
Bill worked with Calgary Transit for 30 years and was a member of A.T.U. #583 for 50 years.

Alexander Mackenzie Watson
Alexander MacKenzie Watson of Ladysmith, BC passed away at the Victoria General Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000 at 71 years of age.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lorna and all of his family and friends.
There will be no funeral service at his request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Sam Fowlow
It is with sadness that I announce the passing of Sam Fowlow on March 7, 2000 in Black Diamond, at the age of 82 years.
Sam had an extraordinary life. He served as a lay minister in small Newfoundland outports in his early years. At that time Sam was awarded the Royal Humane Society Silver Medal for bravery after saving a young boy from drowning in the frozen Harbour le Cous.
He also obtained his teaching certificate and taught for four years in Newfoundland before entering the Merchant Marines. During this period he proudly earned his Master Steamship ticket. When the war was over he joined the Vancouver Police Force and enjoyed a long successful career that included a commendation from J. Edgar Hoover!
After his retirement Sam continued to enjoy the friendship of his former colleagues through the Superannuated Police Association and particularly the White Rock Coffee group.
Sam is survived by his daughter Elaine Dafoe in Turner Valley, Alberta, his grandson Sam in 100 Mile House who spent many happy summers with his grandpa. He is also survived by his grandchildren Doug Ross, Anne Brown and Alan Ross as well as four great grandchildren all of Alberta and Danny Thomson of Vancouver. He was predeceased by his daughter Gaye and his wife Wilma.
At Sam's request there will be no funeral services held. Hugh Cawthorne
Mr. Hugh Cawthorne, of Turner Valley, formerly of Millarville, passed away at the Oilfields Hospital on March 10, 2000 at the age of 79 years.
Hugh will be sadly missed by his wife of 39 years, Audrey Wakeford; his son, Hugh James 'Jim' of Langley B.C.; grandchildren, Derek of Red Deer, Rachel of Sundre and one great granddaughter. Hugh is also survived by his in-laws, Winnifred Peckham of Okotoks, Melba Howard of Turner Valley, Dale (Betty) Wakeford of Okotoks, Doug (Betty) Wakeford of Black Diamond, Gordon Wakeford of Valleyview, Marjorie deHann of Wetaskiwin, Charles Wakeford of Edmonton as well as numerous nieces, nephews and relatives in England. Hugh was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Eliza Cawthorne, brother-in-law Fay Wakeford and sister-in-law Katherine Olson.
Hugh worked as a steam engineer by trade. He was employed at the Currie Barracks, the M.D. of Foothills and the Government of Canada. Hugh married Audrey Wakeford on November 28, 1960.
A memorial service was held at St. George's Anglican Church, Turner Valley, on Monday, March 13, 2000 at 2 pm. The Reverend Robert Griffin officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were Bev Goble, Chuck Moore, Darlene Balic, Roy Newans, John Peglar, Members of the 322 Corinthians Lodge, Members of the AA Fellowship. Kathleen 'Kay' Bertha Antosh (Andrew) passed away at Oilfields General Hospital, Black Diamond on March 10, 2000 at the age of 81 years.

Marilyn (Mardy) Anna Krueger (Nee Lambrecht)
Mardy Krueger, recently of Okotoks and formerly of Estevan, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully at the High River Hospital at the age of 66 following a nine-year fight with cancer. Mardy’s husband, children, grandchildren, favorite Aunt Tillie and dear friends Donna and Bill Dutton and Jeanne and Gordon Schnell were with her prior to her passing.
Mardy was born in Hardy, Saskatchewan on April 22, 1935 and was raised in Ceylon, Saskatchewan. She attended high school in Regina at Sacred Heart Academy. Following high school she worked at Sears for a year. In 1953 Mardy began Teacher’s College in Moose Jaw where she met her husband Erwin. Mardy and Erwin married in 1955. In 1956 Mardy and Erwin attended university in Regina.
In 1957 Mardy and Erwin moved to Estevan where Mardy worked briefly as a secretary at Continental Emsco before resuming her teaching career. Mardy taught at all four schools in the Estevan Separate School system as well as at the Estevan Comprehensive School. As a teacher in the Separate School system, Mardy fulfilled her vocation of passing on her Catholic faith to her students and colleagues. During her teaching career, Mardy obtained her Bachelor of Education and her Bachelor of Arts degrees. Mardy and Erwin lived in Estevan until August of 2000 when they moved to Okotoks.
Mardy’s focus in life was her Roman Catholic faith. Attending daily Mass was very important to Mardy. Mardy was devoted to many and always made time to minister to her family and friends in their times of joy and sorrow. A special ministry of Mardy’s was spending time with others who were fighting cancer. When Mardy was diagnosed with bone cancer she promised God that she would help anyone who asked for her assistance.
Mardy led a very busy and meaningful life. Mardy was involved with the Pro-Life Association, the Catholic Women’s League, the Archdiocesan and Estevan Deanery Pastoral Council, the Charismatic Movement, the St. John the Baptist Parish Choir, the Art Docents, Beta Sigma Phi, the University of Regina Women’s Association, the National Welfare Council, St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary, the Estevan Retired Teachers’ Association, Estevan Diversified Services and various political parties.
Mardy’s interests were numerous and varied. She enjoyed music, art, reading, gardening, shopping for antiques and clothes, planning knitting, sewing and craft projects and driving all over North America in her big red van.
Mardy was predeceased by her grandparents Nicholas and Magdelena (Pflanzner) Schiller; parents Michael and Barbara Lambrecht; father-in-law Eugene Krueger; mother-in-law Lydia Krueger; brothers-in-law Joe Doherty, Morris H. Stevens and sister-in-law Luella Doherty.
Mardy is survived by her husband Erwin Krueger; her children and their families: Michelle Krueger (Dr. Brian Baker), Ajaccia and Kaleah, Patrice Krueger (Jay Willimott) and Callan, Paul Krueger (Wendy King), Jane, Jared and Brandon, Robert Krueger (Elena Krueger) and Marta and Jason Krueger (Stephanie Cassidy), Isabella and Maximilian.
Mardy is also survived by her aunts Tillie Carey and Helen Schiller, her brother Alvin (Kathy) Lambrecht, her cousin Elaine (Dr. Don) Boone, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Harry (Jean) Krueger, Viola Stevens, Susie (Bob) Davis and Pat (Norm) Dei, as well as nieces and nephews Kim (Michael), Tremel (Tracy), Amanda, Joey, Jeff (Dawn), Steve, Mike (Karen), Trish, Debbie (John), Pam (Hashim), Tom (Sue), Gordon (Melanie), Nancy, Peter, Jody (John) and Barb (Scott), and many cousins, great nieces and nephews.
A prayer service was held on Friday, June 8, 2001 at St. John the Baptist Church, 109 12th Avenue, Estevan, Saskatchewan. The Rosary began at 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
The funeral mass was held at St. John the Baptist Church in Estevan on Saturday, June 9 at 10:30 a.m.
A memorial mass will be celebrated by Fr. Jack Bastigal at St. James Chapel, 71 Riverside Drive West, Okotoks, Alberta at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2001. A coffee reception will follow.
The family wishes to express its sincere thanks to Dr. Christie of Estevan, Dr. Tiora and the nursing staff at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre in Regina, Iridologist Blaire Hunter and staff of Okotoks, Dr. Thaell and the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, Dr. Berry of Okotoks, Home Care Nurses Luella Wojcik and Janice Shackleton of Okotoks and the nursing staff, 3rd Floor, High River Hospital.
