Fredrickson -- Allison Margaret

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Allison Margaret Fredrickson on January 19, 2004. She leaves behind her loving companion Daryl Heslip; three children, Robert Fredrickson, Laura Fredrickson, Ashley Fredrickson; one grandson, Trent Fredrickson; mother Isabel Dade; brother Steve (Sherri) Dade; nephew Eric Dade; her chosen family, the Peters' and a lifetime of friends! Allison was predeceased by her father, Eric Dade; brother Ian Dade; and her chosen mother Margaret Peters. For those who knew Allison, knew she was a giving person, who asked little in return, just understanding as well as her whimsical personality feathered with a hint of quick wit. Allison treasured her time with Daryl and with her young children and grandson. She was very talented and crafty, her cross stitch was lovely, many homes have her work displayed with pride. She will be sorely missed by all. A Service of Remembrance was held on Monday, January 26, 2004 with Rev. Florence McDonald officiating. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Society. Courtney-Winter's Funeral Chapel entrusted with the arrangements.

Bachynski -- Julia

Julia Bachynski of Drumheller passed away September 26, 2004 in the Drumheller Health Centre at the age of 90 years. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1981. Julia is survived by her son Jim (Bernice), 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and her sister Rose. A private family service will be held on Thursday, September 30th, 2004 - Internment in the Drumheller Cemetery. Donations in Julia¹s memory may be made to The Sunshine Lodge, (698 6th Ave. E. Drumheller, Alberta T0J 0Y5). Arrangements entrusted to Courtney-Winter's Funeral Chapel. 403-823-2666.

Diprose -- William Sydney Alexander 1915-2004

Born December 28th, 1915 in Rosedale, AB, Bill is survived by his children, Louise of Victoria, BC, Bill (Lorna) of Calgary, Jim (Sheilia) of Calgary, Tom (Louise) of Drumheller, Helen (Ken) Buchholz of Langley, BC, 13 grandchildren, Annavonne, Twyla, Randy, Diane, Robert, Karen, Val, Damus, Darren, Vicki, Charity, Jonathan, Aaron and families and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 1 sister Peggy (Fred) Schrock, of Calgary, brothers Fred (Dot) of Powell River, BC, Ken (Lucy) of St. Albert, AB, Bob (Dorothy) of Stettler, AB and 1 brother-in-law Marshall Clark of Castor, AB. Bill was predeceased by his wife Blanche in June 2003, father Fred in 1988, mother Rose 1963, and brother Harold in 1938. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or organization of donors choice. Funeral services were held at the Knox United Church of Drumheller, at 3:00 pm, Saturday, September 18, 2004, with internment following in the Munson Cemetery. Courtney-Winter's Funeral Chapel entrusted with the arrangements.

Axelsen -- Eric 1928 - 2004

Eric Axelsen beloved husband of Jessie Axelsen of Drumheller, AIberta. passed away after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer on September 30, 2004. He farmed in the Dalum area for 50 years. He was the President of the Drumheller Co-op for 9 years, and an Alberta Wheatpool Delegate for 13 years. He served on many community and charitable boards, and was an active member of Masons and the Eastern Star. In retirement he enjoyed traveling, especially in the South, golfing, dancing, hunting, fishing and visiting his numerous friends and relatives. His parents Alfred and Julia Axelsen and 3 infant sisters predeceased him. Eric will be remembered by his wife Jessie and 4 daughters, Dianne (Robert) Fillman, Darlene MacIntyre, Marilyn (Paul) Nielsen, and Cheryl (Mario) Blasetti. 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral Services were held Monday, October 4, 2004 at the Knox United Church in Drumheller at 2:00 P.M. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alberta Cancer Society or to the Charity of your choice. Arrangements are entrusted to the Courtney Winter's Funeral Chapel 403-823-2666.

Bilinski -- Alfred John "Bud" 1925 - 2004

Alfred John "Bud" Bilinski passed away on Tuesday, September 21st at the Penticton Regional Hospital. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Alberta Bilinski, daughter Sharyn (Mike-deceased), sons Garry (Sandy) and Brian (Ann) sister Frances (Earl); seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren as well as many relatives and friends. Alfred was born and raised in Drumheller, Alberta and served briefly in the Royal Canadian Air Force at the end of World War 2 and went on to a very successful career as a project manager for a large construction company in Calgary. He managed many large building projects throughout western Canada. He retired at the age of 53 and to fill his time moved to BC, purchased land and proceeded to build a new home for himself and Alberta and planted an orchard. For the next 16 years he ran his orchard and enjoyed his 'retirement'. August 5th, 2004 was the 60th anniversary of Alfred and Alberta's very successful marriage. Alfred was the Patriarch of his family and was accorded the respect he deserved by all who knew him. He loved music, played the violin and was an accomplished dancer. He had a very strong moral and work ethic that he passed on to his children and several nieces and nephews that looked to him for support throughout the years. First, last and always, he was a family man. A celebration of life was held on Friday October 1st, 2004 in Penticton. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Hansons' Arbor Funeral Chapels and Crematorium. Internment will take place in the Keremeos cemetery at a later date. Family and friends are encouraged to make a donation to a charity of their choice in lieu of flowers.

Court -- Vernon (Barney) Carlyle April 19, 1930 - September 23, 2004

Vernon (Barney) Carlyle Court passed away suddenly on September 23, 2004, at Swalwell, Alberta. He was born in Downie Township near Stratford, Ontario, on April 19, 1930. Barney moved to Alberta in 1955 and worked for Consolidated Mines near DrumhelIer, and also worked on Dick and Olive Cosgrave¹s ranch for a while. He worked as an Elevator Agent for the Wheat Pools for many years. Later he went on to work for Badlands District No.7 as a Weed Inspector. He also worked for the Municipality of Drumheller until his retirement in 1995. Barney was a people person. He loved the West. but kept in close touch with his relatives in Ontario by numerous telephone calls and visits. His door was always open to friends who needed a place to stay or a meal. Barney had an especially soft spot in his heart for his nephew Ron Court and his family, of Penhold, Alberta, with whom he spent many enjoyable times. He leaves to mourn his loss 5 sisters, Eileen (Lloyd) Worris and Betty Morris, both of Stratford. Ontario; Cora Worris of Tillsonburg, Ontario; Dolores (Joseph) Contardi of Hamilton, Ontario; and Marjorie (Lloyd) Bodemer of Red Deer, Alberta; as well as one bother George (Bev) Court of Cooksville, Ontario and numerous nieces. nephews, friends and neighbours. Bamey was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Amanda and 4 brothers, Gerald. Clifford, Daniel and Robert; 2 sisters Shirley Harloff and Nora Bonnett, as well as 3 brothers-in-laws Amold Morris, Frank Worris and Harry Harloff. Services were held at the Swalwell Community Hall on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Internment at Swalwell Cemetery. Funeral arrangements in care of Sunset Funeral Service, Linden, AB 403-546-3903.

Ludwig -- Lawrence Stephen 1942 - 2004

passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2004 after a very courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his wife of 36 years Carol Ann, daughters Anita (Len), Nola (Hal) and Heather; his precious granddaughter Nadine and his faithful companion Sparky, his mother Bogdy, sister Beverly (Sylvan), nephew Lance, and niece Tara. He was predeceased by his father Peter and nephew Jason. He was born on January 27, 1942 and educated in the Drumheller Valley. After he graduated he went to SAIT and took heavy duty mechanics. His life revolved around school buses and later motor coaches, his pride and joy being the Dinosaur bus. He touched so many people in his travels across Canada and the United States and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Rosedale Fire department for over 20 years. At Lawrence¹s request no funeral service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Lawrence may be made to STARS, Tom Baker Cancer Centre or Drumheller Regional Health Complex.

Nent -- Marjorie Ellen 1943 - 2004

Marjorie Nent, beloved wife of James Goudy, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2004 in Calgary at the age of 61 years. Besides her husband, Marjorie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Lisa Mulder of Calgary, AB; son Jason Mulder of Tofino, BC; sister Edna (Orley) Killoran of Pincher Creek, AB; brothers Earl (Carol) Nent of Edmonton, AB and Culver Nent of Pincher Creek, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Marjorie will also be missed by her many friends. A Celebration of Marjorie¹s life will be held at the Church of the Nazarene (627 - 6th Street E, Drumheller) on Friday, October 8, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Marjorie may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation (c/o The Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331-29th Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2). Wolfson -- Helen Isabella

Helen passed away peacefully at the Carewest Sarcee Care Centre in Calgary on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at the age of 86 years. Predeceased by her husband Philip in 1999, she is survived by daughters, Doreen (Jim King) and Lorraine (Jan Groot); one son Ken (Rose) as well as seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister Jean Bennett and one brother Robert Sanderson. Helen was born in Calgary and grew up in Nevis, AB later returning to Calgary where she met and married Phil. Together they farmed near Rumsey until 1966 at which time they moved back to Calgary to spend their remaining years. Following a private graveside service in Queen's Park Cemetery, a Memorial Service will be held at Bow Valley Alliance Church, 12 Bowridge Drive NW Calgary on Wednesday, October 6 at 3:00 p.m. Special thanks to the staff on Unit 2 at Carewest Sarcee. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to The Parkinson's Society of Southern Alberta, 480D - 36th Avenue S.E. Calgary, Alberta T2G 1W4. Hussey -- Sarah Kathleen 1906 - 2004

On September 21st, 2004 Kathleen Hussey passed away in her sleep at her home near High River at the age of 98 years. Kathleen is survived by her children -- Mrs. Joan Graham, Calgary; Mrs. Kathleen Langner, High River; Mrs. Beatrice (Bruce) McHugh, Ridgeway, Ontario and James (Alice) Hussey, Rumsey, Alberta, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph William Hussey on May 23rd, 1963. Born at Guelph, Ontario on June 21st, 1906, Kathleen spent her earlier years at Kamsack, Saskatchewan before moving to Calgary in 1941. In 1988 she moved to Rumsey, Alberta to live with her son James and family until 2002 when she came to High River to live with her daughter Kathleen and her family. A memorial service was held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, High River on Friday, September 24th at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Father Jack Bastigal officiating. McDonagh -- Timothy Alden

Timothy Alden McDonagh of Drumheller, formerly of Valleyview, passed away peacefully and went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on September 1st, 2004 at the age of 46 years. Tim was born at High River, AB on August 19th, 1957, the youngest of four children of the late Charles and Valerie McDonagh. In the 1960's, Tim Os family moved to Valleyview to homestead and he resided there until moving to Drumheller to pursue work in the oilfield and carpentry industries. Predeceased by his parents Valerie and Charles McDonagh, Tim is survived by his daughter Heather McDonagh of Red Deer, brother Dennis of Westlock, AB, sisters Vicki Alexander (Bruce) of Grande Prairie and Virginia Trenholm (Greg) of Port Alberni, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, many old and new friends and his church family. A memorial service was held on September 9th, 2004 at the Church of the Nazarene, Drumheller. As per Tim's wishes, he has been laid to rest with his parents in the Highwood Cemetery, High River. Weisee -- Richard, H. 1926 - 2004

Richard H. Weisse passed away in Stettler Hospital on September 21, 2004 at the age of 78 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Calgary on January 2, 1926. His family moved to Hanna where he grew up. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma; two sons - Warren (Elaine) of Rumsey, Aaron (Karen) of Red Deer and one daughter Leone Kiemele (Ron) also of Rumsey; 4 grandchildren and one great grandson, all of whom he was very proud. He is also survived by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He was predeceased by a son, Owen in 1998, his mother Martha in 1938, and his father Fred in 1990. He had a trucking business in Calgary for many years; farmed for 15 years at Olds and has farmed for the past 30 years at Rumsey. He recently built a house in Stettler, where he was presently residing. Courtney-Winter's Funeral Home are in charge of the cremation.

Smith -- Lavonne 'Bonnie' 1945 - 2004

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Lavonne 'Bonnie' Smith on January 27, 2004. Bonnie was born in Drumheller February 22, 1945 to Bill and Mabel Wilton. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Cliff Jackson, grandson Jeremy, her parents and her brother-in-law, Carl "Bud" Campbell. Bonnie is survived by and leaves to mourn her husband Bill and his children Ryan and Jennifer; son Ed Jackson (Aileen); daughter Carolyne Ferko (Glen); her grandchildren Denise, Nikki, Monica, Sean, Darla, Travis, Danny, Brandon and Kyle; six brothers Jim Wilton (Frances), Bill Wilton (Ann), Doug Wilton (Doris), Ken Wilton, Bob Wilton (Marie), Gordon Wilton (Shirley); one sister Barbara Campbell; first husband Lynn Jackson of Edmonton and numerous nieces and nephews. Bonnie worked in Senior Care Management for a number of years having been the Matron of the Sunshine Lodge in Drumheller and then joining the team of the Greater Edmonton Foundation. She was currently working at the Everglades Lodge in Carvel, Alberta. After being madly in love for 12 years, Bonnie married Bill Smith at their home in Seba Beach, Alberta on May 18, 2002. Bonnie and Bill had a beautiful, loving relationship. They shared their passions for antique collecting, bird watching, and gardening. But most of all, they cherished their time together just being with each other and their families. Bonnie was a doting mom, loving Nana, wonderful sister and favorite auntie. She always gave sound advice, warm hugs, a soft shoulder to lean on, and never hung up the phone without saying "I love you". She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Memorial service to be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Drumheller. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army.

Adams -- Charles Davidson (Chuck) 1946 - 2004

Charles (Chuck) Davidson Adams born May 4, 1946 passed away at the Drumheller Hospital on February 16, 2004 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his loving partner in life, Ruby; daughters Terry (Mike) and Teresa; son Kevin (Patti); grand-children Chantel, Sheldon, Kimberly and Nikki; sisters Linda (Gary), Debbie (Alan), Brenda (Bernie); brothers Bill (Ruth), Jim (Lynda); numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends. He was predeceased by his mother Joyce; father Charlie; his brothers David and Chris. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene. Courtney-Winter's Funeral Chapel entrusted with arrangements.

Cassidy -- Joyce M. 1911 - 2004

Joyce M. Cassidy, late of Burnaby, B.C. passed away February 14, 2004 at the age of 93 years. She was born January 26, 1911 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Private Cremation, Valley Crematorium, Chilliwack. She is survived by her sister Frances Oakley of Lindsay, Ontario; sister-in-law June Cassidy of Campbell River; seven nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.
