On March 15, 2005 Mr. Sol Amegatcher of Edmonton, Alberta passed away suddenly while working in Tallahassee, Florida at the age of 54. Sol is lovingly remembered by his wife Brenda, sons Ryan and Jordan, brothers Emmanuel, Rueben, Daniel and Ebenezer, sisters Leslie and Felicia, as well as many relatives and friends. Sol worked with the provincial government. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, south of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park with Reverend Michael Wimmer officiating. Sol's final resting place will be at Glenwood Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Sol may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta.

On February 2, 2005 Mrs. Lesley Hirsch of Sherwood Park passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Braden, her sons; Jordan and Devon, her mother Doris Brandell, her mother & father-in-law Peter and Beatrice Hirsch, sister-in-law Darlene Brandell, her husband's family; Michelle Hirsch (Neil Smith) and Charlotte (Wayne) Wheeler as well as many good friends. Lesley was predeceased by her father Donald Brandell, her brother Dr. Wylie Brandell. Lesley was a dedicated mother who cherished her sons. She was very involved in supporting all of their activities including hockey, baseball, football, basketball, martial arts, school events and anything else that they wanted to try. Her family was her biggest treasure. A celebration of Lesley's life will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 10031 - 109 Street, Edmonton with Reverend Tim Colborne officiating. Lesley's final resting place will be at Glenwood Memorial Gardens at a later date. She is survived by children Melita (John) Wall, Edith Regehr, Erica (Fred) Regehr, Oscar (Verna), Marie Kologie, Elsbeth (Werner) Loewen and Judy; 16 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. "Eternal Memories" On February 1, 2005 Mr. Steve Wakaruk of Sherwood Park, Alberta passed away peacefully with his wife Kay and family by his side at the age of 63. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Kay and her children Shane (Pam) Zulyniak and Brent Zulyniak, 5 brothers; Nick (Linda), William (Diane), Peter (Lorraine), Donald (Cecilia) and Orest (Joanna), 6 sisters; Elsie (Russ) Pleuter, Donna (Lawrence) Komarniski, Stephanie Refshauge, Audrey Kopp, Anna (Harvey) Saskiw and Natalka Wakaruk as well as numerous relatives and friends. Steve was predeceased by his first wife Rita (nee Prothman) Wakaruk March 7, 1983, his father Stephen October 29, 1968, his brother Marshall November 9, 2000 and his mother Dora July 3, 2001. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Andrew, 9831 - 75 Street, Edmonton, Alberta where a Funeral Rite will be held on Friday, February 4, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with Rt. Rev. Fr. Victor Lakusta officiating. Interment will take place at 3:30 p.m. at St. John The Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Morecambe, Alberta. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Sherwood Park Care Centre and Station 41 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for the care and kindness given to Steve and family during his brief illness. With deep regret we announce the passing of Alvin Christian Grasdal on the morning of Sunday, October 3, 2004. Alvin was born October 24, 1916, second eldest child of 10 children born to Andrew and Christie Grasdal at Parkbeg, Sask. As a young man he worked on many farms and ranches from Manitoba to B.C. He joined the Air Force January 1942 and served as a mechanic to August 1945. Alvin married Margaret Haskins of Rose Valley, Sask. December 26, 1942. They lived in Ontario, where Barbara was born, until the end of the war. In 1946 they started farming at Spalding, Sask., where Eldon and Donna joined the family. The family suffered a great loss when Donna passed away in 1966. In 1971 they sold the farm and Alvin did carpentry work until 1982 when they retired to Penticton, B.C. There they enjoyed 18 years of leisure, fishing and curling. In 2000 they moved to Sherwood Park, AB to be close to family. Alvin is survived by his loving wife Margaret; daughter Barbara (Morris) Faber and son Eldon (Elaine); grandchildren Cameron and Shawn Faber, Vicky and Sheldon Grasdal; sister Ina Duckworth and brothers Ray (Connie), Carl (June), Ernest (Gerda), Lloyd (Georgia); sisters-in-law June and Terry; and brother -in-law Jim Crozier. Alvin was predeceased by his daughter Donna, his parents, brothers Martin, Conrad and Elmer and his sister Mabel. He will always be loved and remembered by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, south of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park, AB.
