NEUFELD -- Mrs. Irma Neufeld of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on January 26, 1998 at the age of 75 years. Announcements later by LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOMES LTD. "Golden Rule Member". Telephone: 228-4422.

O'BRIEN -- Mrs. Hannah Aline O'Brien, beloved wife of the late George D. O'Brien, passed away January 27, 1998 at Qualicum Beach, B.C., at the age of 91 years. Mrs. O'Brien will be sadly missed by her loving family, one daughter Kathleen of Qualicum Beach, B.C.; two sons, Jack (Lorna) and Dale (Marjorie), of Calgary; daughter-in-law Mary; grandchildren, Leslie DeWald, Edward, Michael, Thomas, Donald and Timothy O'Brien, and Susan Morris (nee O'Brien); and nineteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Robert Bennett of Orem, Utah; five sisters, Marjorie Vincent of Raymond, Genevieve Olsen of Raymond, Catherine Masters of Tacoma, WA, Mollie Kitchen of Parksville, B.C., and Eloise Walker of Vancouver; and many other relatives and friends. Mrs. O'Brien was predeceased by her son Larry, granddaughter Laurie, four brothers, Dehlin, Whitney, Stanley and Brian, three sisters, Norma, Bernice and Elna, and two infant sisters. Aline was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as Relief Society President and many other callings. She brought sunshine and love to all those who knew her and worked willingly and cheerfully at all of her callings. She was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Pierson's Funeral Home, 4121 - 17 Avenue S.E. on Friday, January 30 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Willow Park Chapel, 940 Acadia Drive S.E. on Saturday, January 31 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery. PILLIDGE -- Hilda Kathleen Pillidge passed away peacefully at the George Boyack Nursing Home on January 26, 1998 at the age of 93 years. Hilda was born in England and came to Canada at a young age. She made her home in Calgary, where she worked for the Circulation Department of the Calgary Herald for forty-four years. She will be greatly missed by her nephew Robert (Iris) of Calgary; great-nephews, Ronald (Isabel) of Stony Plain, and Bart of Bragg Creek; great-great-niece and nephew, Katie and Adam of Stony Plain; and her special cousin Doreen Thorne of England. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff on the Fourth Floor of the Boyack Nursing Home for their love and wonderful care of Hilda. To honor Hilda's wishes, there will be no Funeral held, but the family invites friends to a gathering at 706 Crescent Road N.W. on Sunday, February 1, 1998 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. TISDEL -- Our beloved mother, Marjorie Helen, passed away suddenly on January 24, 1998 in her home. She was a kind, loving and supportive mother to all her children. She faced life with humour, compassion and courage and will be sadly missed by her family, Gerry St. Louis and his wife Sylvia and their family, Stacey and Laura; Dorothy Barclay and her husband Kirk and their family, Susie (and son Seth) and Eric; Diane Fowlie and her husband Garth and their family, Louann and husband Jeff and children, Jacob and Shane as well as Paul and Samantha; Lori Kallsen and her husband Jim and their son Chad; and Gary Tisdel. Marge was predeceased by a daughter Catherine Marjorie Tisdel in 1953, her brother Henry Frank Stevens in 1958, her husband Garfield Harris Tisdel in 1967, another daughter Donna Lizbeth Tisdel in 1993, and a granddaughter Kerry Lynn Ewing in 1995. Funeral Services will be held at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 - 16 Avenue N.W. (across from North Hill Shopping Centre), on Thursday, January 29, 1998 at 1:00 p.m., Pastor Horst W. Gutsche of Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Cremation to follow at Calgary Crematorium. VERDEGEM -- Julia Verdegem, beloved wife of Mr. L. Medard Verdegem of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on January 27, 1998 at the age of 84 years. Julia was born in Belgium and was married to Medard for sixty-three years. She lived in St. Catharines, Ont. for thirty-four years and Calgary for the last ten years. Julia was loved and will be greatly missed by her husband. Julia is also survived by a son Dan and Nancy Verdegem of Tenino, Wash.; three grandchildren, Lorrie of Tenino, Wash., Deborah and husband Brian Pow of Calgary, and Robert Verdegem of St. Catharines; three great-grandchildren, Jairus Pow of Calgary, Brian and Bryce Verdegem of New Brunswick. YOUNG -- Patricia Corsair Young passed away at the age of 79 years on January 27, 1998 at the Agape Manor Hospice in Calgary, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Pat is survived by her sons, Alan and Jim; her daughters-in-law, Nancy and Lorette; her three grandchildren, Erin, Matt and Liam; her great-granddaughter Kennedy, all of Calgary; and her sister Joan in England. She was predeceased by Bill (Willis), her husband of fifty-two years, in 1996. Pat was born in Dover, England on August 2, 1918 and grew up in the London area. She joined the Royal Air Force during World War II and while serving at Sunningdale, she met Bill Young from Taber, Alberta, who was stationed nearby with the Canadian Army. Bill and Pat were married in England on August 6, 1944. They returned to Canada with their first son Alan in 1946 and resided in Taber where their second son Jim was born. In 1964, the family relocated to Edmonton where Bill and Pat lived until their retirement to Creston, British Columbia in 1980. They enjoyed sixteen years of active and happy retirement in Creston, where Pat's green thumb flourished. Pat also succeeded in always landing either the largest or most fish during the many hours that she and Bill spent fishing on Kootenay Lake. She returned to Alberta in 1996, moving to Calgary to be near her family. Pat led a busy and accomplished life as a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother. She was an avid curler and card player, thoroughly enjoying not only the competition, but also the camaraderie, as Pat was very much a people person. She had the gift of meeting and making new friends very easily wherever she went. Pat will be lovingly missed by her family and friends. CHOI -- Hae-Shin Choi passed away at the Foothills Hospital on January 25, 1998 at the age of 94 years. Born in Korea on September 29, 1903 in Chikyong Lee Chunbuk, South Korea, Hae-Shin immigrated to Canada in 1971. Hae-Shin is survived by her four daughters; Youngsoon Kim of Seoul, Korea, Kyongsoon Hwang and husband Moonung of Vancouver, Young Hee of Seoul, Korea, Sowha Leckler of Alameda, Calif.; and five sons, Kapsoo Choi and Byonsoo Choi of Seoul, Korea, Chungsoo Choi and his wife Saesoon, Minsoo Choi and his wife Rosemarie and Jinsoo Choi and his wife Jemma, all of Calgary; thirty-six grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Hae-Shin was predeceased by her husband Sanbong and her daughter Ulsun Kim. COLGAN -- Mrs. Byrul Colgan passed away in Kelowna, B.C. on Saturday, January 24, 1998 at the age of 84. Survived by her loving family, one daughter Joan Wilkinson of Houston, Texas, one son Brian of Edmonton and their families. Sadly predeceased by her husband Jerry and son Neil. CONNELL -- Mrs. Louise Connell (nee Markham) of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Rosedale Hospice on January 27, 1998 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Louise will be lovingly remembered and missed by her son Jack, daughter-in-law Arlene, and grandsons, Scott and Craig. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister Bettie (Gordon) Roger; brother Bill (Esther) Markham; sister-in-law Marion Farrell; cousin Jim (Margaret) Jenkinson; special friends, Evelyn Gale and Jessie Scott; Arlene's brother Mel Scott; Diana Jones, and all of their families. Louise was predeceased by her husband John in 1992. The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the comforting care given by Dr. Norman Yee, the staff and volunteers at Rosedale Hospice, and Home Care workers, Darlene Haladay and Donna Gies. Thanks also to Carol Scott and Marilyn Feddersen for the support and love shown to Louise. HISCOX -- Ronald Hiscox passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 1998 at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Eileen; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and wife Mariela, Gregg and wife Barbara, and Terrence; also granddaughter Lindsay; three sisters, Doreen, Norah, and Helen; brother-in-law Pat Patterson and wife Sue; nephew Carl Boyle and wife Martha; sister-in-law Barb Patterson; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ron was born in Windsor, Ontario, served five years in the R.C.A.F. and joined Prudential Insurance Co. of America in 1950, transferring to Calgary as Sales Manager in 1956. He enjoyed thirty years of employment and retired in 1981 at age sixty-one. Ron and Eileen loved to travel in their trailers and motorhomes. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 30, 1998 at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4 Street N.W. INDRIDASON -- Lorne D. Indridason of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Agape Manor Hospice, on Sunday, January 25, 1998 at the age of 75 years. Lorne is survived by his two sisters, Doris Gange of Winnipeg and her family, Margaret (Ted) Grisdale of Calgary and her four sons, John, Dan, Brent of Calgary, and Rob of Grand Cayman Island; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Lorne was predeceased by his parents and two brothers. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1947, was a life member of the Saskatchewan Hotel Association, a Charter member of the Oxbow Lion's Club, a member of the Al Azhar Temple of Calgary, the Royal Arch Masons, Estevan Chapter, as well as Wascana Preceptory No.51 K.T., Regina, Saskatchewan and Boscurvis Lodge No. 39 A.F.A.M. of Oxbow, Saskatchewan. Lorne retired after forty years in the hotel business, in Saskatchewan, and moved to Calgary in 1989. He was a great lover of books and Jazz. He will be sadly missed by his many dear relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul's United Church, Oxbow, Saskatchewan, Saturday, January 31, 1998 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. IRWIN -- Charles Wilcox of Calgary, formerly of Drumheller, passed away in Calgary on January 27, 1998 at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn his passing, five children, Ann (Robert) Urch, Carol (Mac) Trapp, Sharon (John) Niven, Tony (Colleen) Irwin, Sandy (Leonard) Stringer; one sister Elizabeth (Lyda) Rodenburgh of Redcliff; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by his wife Rosemary, brothers, Thomas, Jack, Clarence and Clifford. KSIENSKI -- Mr. Rubin Ksienski, beloved husband of Elizabeth of Calgary, passed away at the Agape Manor Hospice on January 27, 1998 at the age of 73 years. Besides his loving wife, Rubin is survived by two sons, two daughters-in-law, and a daughter, Nathan and Hadassah of Calgary, Melvin and Gail of Calgary, and Shirley of Toronto. He is also survived by six grandchildren. Funeral Services were held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel (1702 - 17 Avenue S.W.), on Wednesday, January 28, 1998 at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Jewish Cemetery (30 Avenue and Erlton Street S.W.).
