Darlene Joan (nee Bohnet) Pelletier
Born: Sat Jun 10, 1944
Died: Wed Jan 9, 2013
Darlene Joan Pelletier (nee Bohnet) a long time resident of Stettler, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the age of 68 years. Darlene is survived by her children Brian Pelletier, Norman Pelletier, Yvonne Pelletier and Michelle Pelletier as well as one grandchild. Darlene is also survived by her siblings Shirley Smith, Jean MacDonald, Douglas Bohnet and Robert Bohnet and by many nieces, nephews other relatives and very dear friends. At Darlene's request, there will be no formal funeral service take place. As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of Darlene, memorial contributions may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Alberta Lung Association in care of Brennen Funeral Home and Cremation Services who have been entrusted with the care and arrangements.

ZAZULA, Mike
November 5, 1927 – February 14, 2016
On Sunday, February 14, 2016, Mike Zazula of Lamont, Alberta passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 88 years.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Rose; his daughters: Connie, Beth (Edward) and Debbie; goddaughter Linda (Francois) ; grandchildren: Paul (Jennifer), Jonathan, Terence (Brittany) and Zachary (Nina) ; great-grandchildren: Michael, James and Nora. Mike is also survived by his brother Stan (Aurora) ; nieces and nephews: George (Jane), Rosemary (Vern), Jeanette, Kerry and Yuri. He was predeceased by his parents Dmetro and Anastasia; sister Mary (Peter) Skulsky ; youngest brother Arthur and nephew Kim.
A Divine Liturgy will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Mundare, Alberta with Fr. Mark Zazula officiating. Inurnment to follow in the Spas Maskalyk Cemetery.
A reception will follow at the Mundare Recreation Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lamont Health Care Centre, Box 479 Lamont, AB. T0B 2R0.

YAKIMCHUK, Helen (nee Watamaniuk)
September 27, 1923 - October 15, 2016
Beloved wife, mother, Baba passed away at the age of 93.
Survived by Fred, her husband of 71years; children Marlene (Dave), Lana, Fredric (Amy) and Stephen; grandchildren David (Norrie Shan), Tanya, Charles (Yan), Maria, Ian, Elena (John), and Katherine; great-grandchildren David, Arianna, Connor, Eli, Melody, Emma and Lily Rose; siblings Mary, Alice, and Steve (Eileen), and numerous in laws and their families. Predeceased by son Ronald and wife Terri, son in law Ken, daughter Kathy, brother William (Bill) .
A Public Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Autumn Rose Funeral Home, Vegreville. A Funeral Rite will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Andrew with Rev. Fr. Benny Ambrosie officiating.
Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to “Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Andrew” or to the "Charity of One's Choice."

Gary Wayne Leece
On Sunday, April 10, 2016, Mr. Gary Leece passed away peacefully at his home in Wainwright, Alberta at the age of 64 years.
Gary is forever remembered by his loving wife, Claudette Leece of Wainwright, Alberta; His two sons; Mathew (Jody) Leece of Strathmore, Alberta and Jamey (Carris) Leece of Edmonton, Alberta; four grandchildren, Kaleb and Noah Leece, Avery and Addison Leece; brother, Brian (Judi) Leece of Calgary, Alberta; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. and long time friend Larry Robinson of Wainwright, Alberta. He is predeceased by his parents Buster and June Leece.
A funeral service for the late Mr. Gary Leece will be conducted Friday, April 15, 2016 from the Church of The Nazarene, Wainwright, Alberta at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ryan Wood Officiating.
Any memorial contributions may be made to the Alberta Cancer Society.

LAKUSTA, Lawrence
August 6, 1942 – May 11, 2017
We are saddened to announce the passing of Lawrence Lakusta of Hairy Hill, Alberta at the age of 74 years.
Lawrence is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 48 years, Pauline. Also children Darrell and Tammy (Marvin Homeniuk). He leaves behind 3 grandchildren Kiera, Ewan and Jacynda. He will be missed by his cat companion “Smokey.” Lawrence was predeceased by his father Dan and his mother Dora.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Autumn Rose Funeral Home in Vegreville, Alberta with Reverend Father Benny Ambrosie officiating. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Lawrence to the St. Joseph’s General Hospital – Palliative Care or to Edmonton Humane Society. The family thanks everyone who has touched Lawrence’s life with kindness.

George Mykyta
December 13, 1926 - November 10, 2013
Mr. George Mykyta of Stettler passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Stettler, Alberta at the age of 86 years. George was born in Tysowa, Poland on December 13, 1926 the son of Nikolas and Anastasia Mykyta. George met Esther Gerlitz in Stettler and the couple were married April 6, 1956. To this union two children were born, son Ron and daughter Carol. In 1987 George lost his wife Esther at the young age of 51 years. George spent most of his life working oil rigs and was one of the best drillers around. He made many lifelong friends while working the oil patch and during his retirement in Stettler and will be missed by many. George is survived by his son Ron (Andrea) Mykyta of Calgary and by his daughter Carol Vikse (Darcy McIntyre) of Stettler, six grandchildren Alex, Aaron and Anthony Mykyta, Amy (Joe), Kent and Michael (Claire) Vikse, four great-grandchildren Braeden, Arielle, Abby and Jacob Leslie as well as his sister Ganna and many nieces, nephews and other relatives in the Ukraine and many very dear friends. George was predeceased by his parents Nikolas and Anastasia, his beloved wife Esther and by his brother Jusko and sister Maria. A funeral service to celebrate George's life was held at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Stettler on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Karl Faltin officiating. As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of George, memorial contributions may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation in care of Brennen Funeral Home and Cremation Services P.O. Box 193 Stettler, Alberta TOC 2LO who have been entrusted with the care and funeral arrangements.

BENSON Ella Marie
Ella Benson passed away peacefully at West Country Hearth on July 24th, 2012 at the age of 91. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Dixie Soetaert, Margaret (Art) Moore, Leigh (Alicja), Ivy Huntley & Blake (Ann), numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Alex, sister Mildred, brother Delmar & son-in-law Victor Soetaert. The family wishes to thank the staff at West Country Hearth for the wonderful care mum was given for the last 5 years. A memorial service will be held Thursday August 2nd, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Villeneuve Church. PAVLETIC, Djino (Dino)
On July 24th, 2012 Dino Pavletic of Clyde, AB formerly of Ft. McMurray, AB passed away as the result of an accident at the age of 71 years. He is survived by his wife Gladys (Bendle) Pavletic; his 3 daughters, Mirella (Brian) Popowich, Monica (Roger) Jevne, and Marla (Arden) Majewski; 7 grandchildren, Brianne and Georgia Popowich, Sarah and Ryan Jevne, Amelia, Cohen and Mackenzie Majewski; brothers and sisters, Mario (Anita), Severino (Robin), Aldo (Darlene), Marcela (Roger) Restrepo and Evelina (Franco) DeAzzalin, as well as numerous other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents Vitorio and Erminia Pavletic. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 28th, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Westlock Funeral Chapel. Rose Caroline Therrien (Marchand)
1933 - 2017
Rosina (Rose) Marie-Caroline Therrien was born in Pit Harty (Lost River), Ontario on October 7, 1933 to Caroline Catherine Burkett and Wilfred Laurent Marchand. She was the second of nine children; predeceased by brothers Reginald and Junior and sisters Doris, Jacqueline, Pauline, and survived by sisters Joan, Emilia and brother Nalbert.
Rose married Paul (Pat) Therrien in Kapuskasing, Ontario on July 21, 1952. They had four boys - Daniel (1953), Robert (1954), Gerald (1955), Michel (Mitch) (1959) and four girls - Joanne (1957), Patricia (1960), Bonnie (1962) and Cara-Leigh (Chic) (1969) .
Rose and Pat moved to the Hinton area (AB) in 1960 where she was Hinton’s Handi Bus driver, a job which she thoroughly loved and enjoyed for many years. Rose was diagnosed with COPD in 2003, moved to Provost in 2014 and into the Hillcrest Lodge in 2016 until her death on May 19, 2017 at 83 years old. She is predeceased by her husband Pat (2015), her son Mitch (1976), granddaughters Shawna Marie (1975), Rene Rose (1975) and Laura (1986), grandson Jeremiah (2009) and great grandson Trystan (2015) .
Rose is survived by 7 children, 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and too many friends to count.
Rose had many interests and was well known for her love of life, flowers, animals, gardening, reading, sewing, quilting and cooking. She was an endless source of wisdom and unconditional love to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Celebration of Rose's life will take place on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Central Lutheran Church​ in Provost, Alberta with Pastor Paul McCormick officiating.

MOTIUK, Mike
November 22, 1927 – February 24, 2016
On Wednesday, February 24, 2016 Mike Motiuk of Mundare, Alberta passed away at the age of 88 years.
Mike is survived by his loving family, his wife of 67 years, Adelaide; children Ken (Wendy) Motiuk, Karen (Jeff) Kotlarchuk, Yvonne (Curtis) Shelast, Donna (Doug) Gerry and Colette (Kendal) Shannon; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren Erin (Travis) Holowach and their children Jax, Raeyah and Liv; Carlee (Justin) Leliuk and their sons Kaden and Jace; Jill (Paul) Bay; Janet Motiuk; Ryan Kotlarchuk; Kristy (Kevin) Elkow; Kevin (Renee) Shelast, Shawn Shelast and Sarah Shelast; Tyler Shannon and Zach Shannon; along with numerous relatives and friends. Mike was predeceased by his parents John and Eva Motiuk; three sisters Barbara Hrynyk, Anne Polischuk and Mary Chmilar.
A Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Mundare, Alberta with the Basilian Fathers officiating. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the “S.T.A.R.S” or “Alberta Diabetes Association.” The family wishes to thank all the staff and care workers who showed great care and compassion towards Mike.
