SKOW -- Aase Agnes passed on to be with the Lord on December 27, 1997 at the age of 88. Every life has its beginning and its end. With this in our minds and in our hearts, her children, Ruth Gerlitz, Eleanor Higgins, Ray Skow, and spouses, would like to take this time to share with all their friends and family their loss and their peace at the passing of their mother Aase. Those who went before her were her dear husband Ingemann (Inky) Skow, and her brothers, Ole, George and Edward Hanson. Those she leaves behind are her siblings, Eric Hanson, Elsie Christensen, Ruth Peterson, Gertrude McDougal and Ann Millar; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Aase was born on November 21, 1909 in Dalmous, Denmark. At the age of eighteen, she immigrated to Canada and resided in Redvers, Saskatchewan. Here she met her partner in life and began her family in Calgary and surrounding area. Funeral Services will be held at Sharon Lutheran Church, 210 - 10 Avenue N.E., on Tuesday, December 30, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Robert C. Moland officiating. "Every day shared with the ones we love Is a gift to be thankful for." Memorial tributes may be made directly to Sharon Lutheran Church, 210 - 10 Avenue N.E., Calgary, Alberta T2E 0W9. SORENSEN -- Katherine passed away at the Bethany Care Centre on Friday, December 26, 1997 at the age of 85 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband Walter in 1991. She will be missed very much by her children, Anna (Henry), Erling (Birgit), Else (Vagn), Kurt (Bonnie), Birgit (Ivan), Mogens and Kathe (Steve); as well as by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At Katherine's request there will be no Funeral Service. The Family wish to thank the staff at the Bethany Care Centre for the loving care and attention to their mother. STAGER -- Iven Morris passed away at the Foothills Hospital on December 27, 1997 at the age of 78 years. Iven is the loving father to Del (Diane), and grandfather to Colin and Ryan. He is also survived by his sister Viola Fisher. Iven is predeceased by his wife Lois in December 1984, and his son Wayne in September of 1991. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, December 31, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. THOMAS -- Mary Thomas passed away at the Forest Grove Care Centre on December 24, 1997, at the age of 83 years. During Mary's life, she had a great love for Collie Dogs and was known by some of her neighbors as "The Lady With The Dog". In Mary's earlier years, she attended Bible School in Edmonton. Mary is survived by three nieces and three nephews, and by many friends. She was predeceased by a niece in July of 1997. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel of the Bells", (2720 Centre Street North), on Tuesday, December 30, 1997, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway's "Chapel of the Bells" (2720 Centre Street North), on Wednesday, December 31, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Chris Jukes of St. Luke's Anglican Church officiating. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. THORNDYKE -- Harold Victor passed away on Thursday, December 25, 1997 at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his wife Jo; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerry and his wife Carol, and Dennis and his wife Sharon (Sherri); also by his three grandchildren, Brian Thorndyke, Tammy Thorndyke-Mains and her husband Bill Mains, and Robert Thorndyke. Harold also leaves to mourn his one sister-in-law Evelyn Aldous. He was predeceased by his twin brother George and George's wife Jean. He will be cherished forever for being a good husband, father, grandfather and friend. He served with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve for five years on convoy duty in the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea. He will forever by remembered for his contribution to Canada's freedom. At Harold's request, there will be no formal Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Harold's name may be made to the "Agape Manor Hospice Fund". The family wishes to express their deepest and heartfelt thanks to the Agape Manor Hospice for all of their help in this time of need. Relatives and friends of Jo and Harold are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, January 3, 1998, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 208 Silvercreek Mews N.W. WATMOUGH -- Mr. Jason Mark Watmough of the Coalhurst, AB area and formerly of Calgary, AB, beloved son of Heather Jossa and Ken Watmough, passed away suddenly near Diamond City, Alberta on Wednesday, December 24, 1997 at the age of 25 years. Jason is survived by his mother Heather (Bill) Jossa; his father Ken Watmough; three brothers, his twin Jeff, Ryan, Glen (Rusty); and by his sister-in-law Laurie McBain. Jason is also survived by his grandma Ruth Beckwith and grandpa Charlie Watmough; his aunts and uncles, Norm and Connie, Irene and Les, and Sylvia and George; his cousins, Tyler (Sherry), Pam, Loranne (Derrick), Shannon, Malcolm and Shawna (Ted). Jason was born on May 18, 1972 in Calgary, AB. He was raised in Calgary, attending Henry Wisewood High School. He was active in hunting, playing hockey, fly fishing and camping. Jason moved to the Lethbridge area in February of 1997. He will be greatly missed by his family, his many friends and his dog "Coop". Memorial Services will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Tuesday, December 30, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Larry Hankinson officiating. ANDERSON -- Margaret J. Anderson passed away on December 12, 1997 at the Tom Baker Centre. Margaret was born in Dominion City, Manitoba on January 20, 1923. In 1952 she and her husband Art moved to Calgary where they lived and raised their family. Marg worked for Gulf Canada Resources for nine years until her retirement. She is survived by her son Ross (Sandra Daignault) Anderson of Calgary; daughters, Bev Leche of Vancouver, Nancy (David Glenwright) Anderson of Vancouver, and Pat (Kerry Davies) Anderson of Calgary. Marg is also survived by her six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. She was predeceased by her husband Art in 1996, as well as her parents, four brothers, one sister, and a nephew. Funeral Services will be held at Parkdale United Church, 2919 - 8 Avenue N.W., on Tuesday, December 16, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jan Craig officiating. ANDREKSON -- The Honourable Mr. Justice Alexander (Andy) Andrekson, passed away quietly in his 75th year, Friday morning, December 12, 1997 at Edmonton. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife Margaret; his "Very wonderful children", Sally, Jim (Christine), Janie (Pat), John (Judy) and Peter; and by his adored grandchildren, David, Emily, Diana and Kate. He is also survived by his sister Mary and brother George. His sister Lydia predeceased him in 1991. Cremation has taken place. DEEPROSE -- Geoffrey Arnold Deeprose went to the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 10, 1997. Geof was a pilot in the R.C.A.F. for four and a half years, and then continued in business until his retirement in 1984. He was a longtime volunteer with Meals on Wheels and Bethany Life Line. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. Geof leaves to mourn, his loving wife of fifty-three years Betty; his daughter Leanne; his son Brian; and five wonderful grandchildren, Dan (Cindi), Michael (Kirsten), Kendra (Jerry), Leah and David; two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Joseph; three brothers, Dave (Dorthea), Don (Gladys), and Lins (Ruby); as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and his loving puppy Pokey. A Celebration of Geof's life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Crowfoot Chapel", (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Monday, December 15, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with his grandson, Pastor Dan Thompson of World Wide Church of God officiating. DIPPEL -- Beverley Darlene (Luft) of Didsbury, Alberta, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 1997 at the age of 54, after a courageous battle with cancer. She will forever be remembered and sadly missed by her husband Merle Dippel; daughters, Kelly (Dwain) Hicks, Karilyn (Dan) Northcott; grandsons, Michael and Colin Northcott; parents, Carl and Lily Luft of Didsbury; brother Gerry (Wyn) Luft; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. HAIGH -- Doreen (Ginger) Haigh, cherished wife of Ivor, passed away at home surrounded by her family on December 12, 1997. Doreen was the much loved mother of John and his wife Carol, Jim and his wife Diane and Jacqueline Cymbalisty. Grandma will be missed by Candy, Crystal, Daniel and Ian; and her great-grandchildren, Dustin and Chris. Doreen was employed by the Calgary School Board for twenty-five years. She will be fondly remembered for her love of children, her endless enthusiasm, zest for life and love of travel. No one will every forget her infectious laughter. The family wishes to thank all who gave comfort and support during her brief illness.
