DONAGHY-SMART, Laura Louise - born February 20, 1949 in Toronto, ON and passed away peacefully, with family by her side on May 12, 2008 in Langley, B.C. She is survived by her husband Stephen; children Frank Donaghy, Lisa O'Reilly and Wayne Smart; grandchildren Connor O'Reilly, Madeline Donaghy, Riley and Haley Smart. Loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved creative writing and volunteering her time helping others. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St.Joseph's Catholic Church 20676 Fraser Highway, Langley, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laura's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.

passed away peacefully in Langley Hospice after battling aggressive cancer with family by his side.
John is survived by his mother Edna & brother Rodney (Della), loving wife Shirley of 39 years, children Derek (Michelle), Kimberly (Dennis) England, grandchildren, Kendra, Cailey, Justin and Sydney, many cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.
At John's request, a small family service will be held.

GARNETT, Thomas David aged 81 years passed away peacefully on September 5, 2008. Sadly missed by his wife Ethel Garnett, sons Terry (Priscilla), Dexter (Joy), Tom (Heather), daughters Bonny (Bob Potvin), Dale, Debby (Bernie LaPointe), Mary (Doug Edwards), 17 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers Jim & Don of Manitoba, sister Iris of Burnaby, sister Hilda of Idaho and sister Cynthia. A Memorial Service will be held at Henderson's Funeral Home Langley on Friday, September 12 at 11 a.m. A special thank you to Dr. Ecclestone for his kindness during Tom's illness. Also a special thank you to Pastor John and all of the nurses on the third floor at the Langley Lodge for their loving care.

Dryborough, George William - Born on October 12, 1929 in Saskatchewan. passed away peacefully with family at his side on September 5, 2008 in Langley. Survived by his loving wife of 53 1/2 years, Dona, children; Caroll (Peter), Robert, Ronald (Angela), grandchildren; Ayla, Dakota, Riley, Cheryl and Jennifer, siblings; Ollie, Geraldine and Murray as well as extended family members and dear friends. George was a loving and committed husband, father and grandfather who will be missed and cherished by all who knew him.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Friday September 12, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Clubhouse in Pioneer Park 27111-0 Avenue in Aldergrove. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to Langley Memorial Hospital or a charity of your choice.

HARRIS - Kathleen Mary Gilmour (Jones) born June 18, 1928 in Kelowna, B.C. passed away September 1, 2008 at Morgan Place Care Home Surrey, B.C. Predeceased by parents Joseph and Margaret Jones, sister Jean Smith, husbands Clint Smith and Harry Harris. She is survived by sisters Sadie Micona and Margaret (Laurie) Feenie, daughters Linda (Jim) Slater, Tammy (Norm) Upton, sons Steve (Miriam) Smith, Tim (Kathy) Harris and Tony (Lynn) Harris. Her 14 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Kay was an avid sports fan, playing ball, horseshoes and golf. Her many volunteer hours for the Canadian Legion gave her great joy and a life membership, which she was very proud of. Many people from the Okanagan Valley, to the West Kootenays, and finally the Lower Mainland will remember her a good friend and co-worker. Following a debilitating stroke in 2003, Kay spent her final years at Morgan Place Care Home, where she was lovingly cared for. A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 13 at 3:00 pm at Fraser Heights Funeral Chapel 14835 Fraser Hwy, Surrey. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Variety Club of B.C.

Frida Fassbender (nee Hellerich) 86, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord at Langley Lodge Thursday, August 28th, 2008. Predeceased by her first husband Hans Fecht and her second husband Harry Fassbender, she is survived by her daughter Heide Bell of Courtenay, BC; sons Joe ( Eileen ) Fecht of Orillia, Ontario, Peter ( Charlene ) Fassbender of Langley, BC; nephew Peter (Anita) Hellerich of Surrey, BC; as well as 8 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great, Great Grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held at Christian Life Assembly, 21277 56th Ave., Langley B.C., Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 1:00pm with a memorial tea to follow.

It is with great sadness I announce the passing of my mother. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Jim Taylor in 1983. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie.
I wish to thank the nurses at the Langley Memorial Hospital. You lovely women and men are a special breed. Your thoughtfulness and genuine kindness was truly appreciated every day. There will be a celebration of her life at the Apex, Langley Seniors Center, at 20060 Fraserway on Sept 11, 2008, at 2:30pm-5:30pm. Everyone welcome.
