TAYLOR, Ada Louisa Thursday, 28 Feb 2008
Abbotsford, BC
Ada Louisa Taylor passed peacefully away from the Menno Home in Abbotsford, B.C. on Thursday, February 28th at the age of ninety years.
Predeceased by her husband Art Taylor and sister Ethel. Leaving to cherish her memory sons Kenneth (Doris), Doug (Lorlie), Jim (Vanessa), eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother Arthur Rose, one niece and three nephews, including John and Don (Pat) MacDonald, and other relatives and many friends.
It is with both sadness and relief that her family marks her passing.
She was a wonderful mother, an encouraging friend, an avid gardener. Mom was an excellent listener, interested in chatting with everybody she met, learning about their life and struggles and successes, never letting on that she might have some challenges of her own.
Mom thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship of choir and church members. Her life was an example that "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends."
Her family is sad that the physical life of a remarkable person has ended.
Especially during her last eighteen months, Mom's body, but not her spirit, progressively deteriorated. Osteoporosis wreaked havoc with her spine; pain became her constant companion, her strength diminished. She became reliant on others for daily needs. Communication became increasingly difficult. The outcome was certain.
Her family is relieved that her earthly struggle is finally over. Not one day longer would we have it continue as it was.
Sharing whatever you could was important to Mom. Whether it was an encouragement, a skill, a blessing, a meal, someplace to live for a while, a compliment, a wonder about the world we live in, a moment in time, Mom was convinced that sharing made the world a better place.
So as you reflect on the life and values of Ada Louisa Taylor, give some thought about how you could share a kindness or a blessing or whatever you can with those who are in need.
The family will be celebrating a private graveside ceremony in remembrance.

Mabel Lucille Piper of Abbotsford, B.C., passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the age of 87. She was born on May 14, 1920 to Billiam and Martha Qually in Dacotah, Manitoba. She was the fourth of seven children and grew up on their large family farm. She enjoyed riding horses bareback, helping with the farming chores and was an excellent student and an avid reader. She attended Business School in Winnipeg and worked as an Executive Assistant for the Bank of Montreal and Endako Mines. Mabel had a zest for life and was quick to establish life long friendships in all of the locations they lived, Dacotah, MB, Claresholm, AB, White Rock, Fraser Lake, Kamloops and Abbotsford, B.C. Their home was a gathering centre where a delicious meal could appear at a moment's notice, a competitive game of cards and a lodging for traveling friends and family were always a welcome retreat. Mabel and Arnold were congenial hosts and their hard work and ability to take on new challenges made their years as owners and proprietors of Lake Shore Resort a successful and fulfilling adventure. Mom would have six pies made before six in the morning, run the store, restaurant, rent cabins and boats, pump gas and raise her children with an effervescent and endless energy. Mabel was a strong, sensitive, organized and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Arnold, of 56 years, her brothers Stanley, Douglas and Edwin, her sister Marion, her son-in-law Jock and grandson Trev. She is survived by her children Wayne, Marlene, Lois and Joanne, her two sisters Eunice and Valetta, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is lovingly remembered by her family, many friends and her extended family at Hallmark on the Park. A private family service will be held in White Rock.
