McLEAN, Mark Sunday, 24 Aug 2008
Hope, BC
Mark McLean, our beloved husband, step-dad, son, brother and friend was born August 24, 1960 and passed away suddenly August 3, 2008. He was survived by his devoted wife, Debra, his mother Anne (Art), his father Archie (Linda), his sister Barbara (Joe) and their 2 children Jeremy and Shanelle, his brother Bart (Melissa) and their 2 children Quentin and Alexandria and his two step-daughters Meghan and Laura, his 2 cats, Kitten and Paris and his faithful German Shepherd of 12 years, Carey.
Mark started his life long career in the logging industry at a young age. It was his keen intelligence and his intuitive knowledge of machinery that allowed him to continue to grow and excel in the career that he loved. With his charisma and youthful spirit Mark made friends everywhere he went. He was a friend we were all lucky to have in our lives. He was reliable, dependable and always the first to give you the shirt off his back. Put simply Mark was a big kid at heart that was happiest with life's simplest pleasures. His recent passion became golf after joining the Comox Golf Club for this season. With his relentless determination his handicap started at 33, dropped to 20 and he was well on track to meeting his goal of 17 by the end of the summer. He was a man that lived a full life and his unwavering optimism kept everyone going in the most trying times. We have felt his spirit and know that he is still helping us through this one.
We would particularly like to thank the wonderful people at Seaspan for their genuine concern, help and support.
A Service of Remembrance in Celebration of his life took place on Saturday, August 9th at 2:00 p.m. from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay.
For those wishing, donations in Mark's memory to the Comox Valley SPCA, Box 1284, Comox B.C. V9N 7Z8 would be appreciated.

In a quiet country graveyard
Where the gently breezes blow
Sleeps the one we love so dearly
Whom we lost a few days ago
Your passing was so sudden
It made us weep and cry
And the saddest part of all
That you never said goodbye
The years may wipe out many things
But his they’ll wipe out never
The memories of those happy days
When we were all together. Special thanks to family and friends for their support at this difficult time.
