Ellie died peacefully at home in Quesnel, B.C. where he lived with his wife Marie. Ellie was born in Hartford, Nova Scotia to David and Ester Mellroy, he is the second of 8 children.
He joined the Army in 1957 and travelled with his family to New Brunswick and Germany where they lived for 18 months. Ellie and his family returned to Nova Scotia in 1963 after receiving an honourable discharge from the Army.
He moved with his family to Prince George, B.C. in 1969 where he worked in the Logging Industry as a faller. In 1980 he married his current wife Marie and move to the Quesnel area. In 1997 after having open-heart surgery he retired from his job. Ellie loved fishing and was an avid gardener. He is survived by wife Marie, his 5 children, Carol (Jerry) Keehn of Telkwa, Lillie (Lester) Pearson of Prince George, David (Kim) Mellroy of Telkwa, Wade (Tina) Mellroy of Smith AB, Bobbi (Billy) Nolan of Edmonton. 17 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 5 stepchildren as well as 4 sisters and 2 brothers of Nova Scotia. He is pre-deceased by both his parents and his brother Lawrence. Ellie will be sadly missed by all of us who knew and loved him.
Service will be held at Clayton Funeral Home on Monday, June 2 at 1:00pm - viewing from 11:30 to 12:30. Tea service at Legion from 1:30 to 3:00. All guests are welcome.

Arnold Henry Elie Asquin passed away August 14, 2008 at the age of 78.
Arnold is pre-deceased by his wife: Alice; his parents: Pierre and Liane; and his brother Marcel. He leaves behind his loving family: children: Arnice Asquin (Ron Smith) and Arlyss Turner (Jason); grandchildren: Shauna, Alan and Tyler; brothers; Joseph and George; sisters: Yvonne and Jeannette; and many other relatives and special friends.
Arnold was born in Wayne, AB on August 24, 1929. The family lived in the Drumheller area. Arnold left to attend post secondary education. He apprenticed with the Alberta College where he received his chef papers in 1963. He attended University of Alberta and attained his teaching certificate in 1966. He taught at Harry Ainlay Composite High School and NAIT. In 1972 the family moved to Chilliwack to operate the Pointa Vista General Store and Cafe. In 1976 Arnold and family moved to Hope to run the Family Restaurant. He retired in Hope. As his Alzheimer's progressed he moved into the Fraser Hope Lodge.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the health care professionals who provided care and support during Arnold's years of residency at the Fraser Hope Lodge.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2008, 1:00 p.m. at Mountainside Funeral Chapel, 1270 Ryder Street, Hope, B.C. with Rev. Ken Wotherspoon officiating.
A reception will be held following the Service at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2690, 386 Fort Street, Hope, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fraser Hope Lodge or the charity of your choice in Arnold's memory.

William Henry Prentis passed away on August 13, 2008 in Hope, B.C.
He was pre-deceased by his wife: Irene, parents: Evangeline and William; sister: May; and brother: Albert.
He is survived by his children: Betty (Dan) Rose of Mission, Lynn (Ed) Armstrong of Hope, John of Calgary, Rose (Mike) Greenlaw of Kamloops, and Bill of Port Moody; sister: Muriel; brother: Sam; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

It is with great sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Bonita on August 13, 2008 in Fraser Canyon Hospital, Hope, B.C. Bonita was born in Ludlow, New Brunswick on February 9, 1947.
She had resided in Saint John, New Brunswick, Montreal, Quebec and Halifax, Nova Scotia before moving to Richmond, British Columbia in the late 1970's.
She is pre-deceased by her parents Pat and Verda Chaisson and brother Mark.
She is survived by her loving and loyal husband Larry; their seven children: Rick, Roxanne, Sean, Rob, Jamie, Chris and Kevin; two sisters: Theresa Ogden and Karen Basque; and one brother: Joe Chaisson. She was the proud grandmother of seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Bonita had a love of craft-making and became a very accomplished porcelain doll-maker. Throughout her life, she touched many people and helped them to cope with challenges in their lives as a proud member of A.A. for 31 years. Bonita always tried to rise above her own situation and think of others.
Her family wishes to offer their heartfelt thanks to Pastor Jeff Kuhn and the many doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers she encountered over the years.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David on August 6, 2008 in Fraser Canyon Hospital, Hope, B.C., having remained at home, as he wished, for as long as possible. The family thanks Dr. Bradley, the Murakami Clinic staff and all the Fraser Canyon Hospital Staff for their care and kindness.
Pre-deceased by his parents, Florence and Sidney Roberts; his brother, Derek; and his youngest son, Cameron.

Dave Danyluk passed away unexpectedly in Hope, on August 2, 2008, at the age of 68.
He will be sadly missed by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Diane; children: Davey, Carson, Brian (Ashleigh), Nicole (Dan) and Deanna; grandchildren: Cole, Jake, Bradley and Ashleigh; brother, Russ (Shirley); nieces and nephew, Deena, Pam and Rex of California; and mother-in-law, Pat Anderson. Dave was pre-deceased by his parents Bill and Sophie.
Since moving from Whonnock to Hope in 1992 Dave will be well remembered as cab driver and bartender at the Eagles.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hope Ambulatory unit and Dr. Eng, Dr. Christie, the nursing staff at the Fraser Canyon Hospital and Eric and Wendy Larder.

Margaret May Gardner passed away in Hope, B.C. on July 16, 2008 at the age of 78 years. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Clifford and sons, Gary and Herman.
Margaret is survived by her loving family: children: Laverna Dehning, Wendy Goodman and Evelyn Gardner; grandchildren: Shelly Bermel, Danny Gardner, Ricky Stewart and Shawna Stewart; great-grandchildren: Crystal Bermel, Tristan Trowell and Lisa Sheets; sisters: Cora & Dora Batt and Lillian Batt; and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandma. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary for over 30 years. Her many hobbies included cooking, baking, gardening, canning, playing bingo & slot machines, dancing and walking & talking to people. Margaret's love of bus touring and traveling led her to a position as a tour booking associate with Evelyn's Tours. She was always encouraging others to have a positive attitude on life and she was known to be feisty and highly opinionated. Margaret was a pleasant, down to earth woman who was a good neighbor and enjoyed helping others.
A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church, 949 - 3rd Ave., Hope, B.C. Pastor Jeff Kuhn officiated. A Reception started at 2:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall Aerie #2690, 386 Fort St., Hope, B.C. A private burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the British Columbia Lung Association, Memorial Department, PO Box 34009 STN D, Vancouver, B.C. V6J 9Z9, in Margaret's memory would be appreciated.
