Grantham, Harold Tuesday, 11 Nov 2003
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father Harold Grantham. He will be forever loved and remembered by his life partner Gert; his children, Robert (Diane), Alex, Lee, Mary (Scott); his brother Robert (Peg); his sister Phyllis (Jim); his grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

Passed away peacefully at Mill Site Lodge, 100 Mile House. Lovingly missed by his wife Betty; children Diana (Dale) Richards, Calgary, Alta.; Bill (Sherrie) Wilkie, 100 Mile House; Gaye (Roy) Wilkinson, Cayley, Alta.; Reid (Tina) Wilkie, 100 Mile House; eight grand-children; Dawn and Dallas Richards, Shane and Robyn Wilkie, Trever and Dean Wilkinson, Travis and Adam Wilkie and one great-grandson Brayden Dykman. George was born in Regina, Sask. and was raised in Vancouver, B.C. He graduated from Kitsilano High School and UBC with a degree in Agriculture. George was a pilot in the RCAF during WW2 and stationed in Europe and met and married Betty Reid in Glasgow. Upon discharge from the military, George became Executive Director of the Marpole Community Centre in Vancouver. In the mid 1950s George moved his family to the Cariboo and eventually settled in 100 Mile House. George was very involved in the community as a member of the Lions Club, a founder of the first skating rink, an organizer and participant in minor hockey and president of the Community Association. With his friend Bill Garrow he formed the 100 Mile House Boxing Club, which resulted in Buddy Palmer going to the Tokyo Olympics in the 1960s. George was a founder and for many years president of the Outriders Club which led to the Little Britches and High School Rodeo in 100 Mile. George's love was his family and his ranch where he spent many long hours. George was well known in the Cariboo through his long time automotive and farm machinery sales, both with Herb Auld and Lake City Ford. George's request was a private service at his ranch in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to Mill Site Lodge or the Alzheimer's Society. Cremation by 100 Mile Funeral Service.

Roberge, Bernard Joseph Philamont Sunday, 02 Nov 2003
Born Aug. 7, 1932, St. Paul, Alberta. Died Nov. 2, 2003 at Keremeos, B.C. Predeceased by his parents Melina and Lovern Roberge. Leaves behind one son Vernon Charles, Vancouver, B.C.; one sister Fleurette (Peter) Kolodinski, Green Lake, B.C.; three brothers Roger (Helen) Roberge, Campbell River; Ron (Donna) Roberge, Coquitlam, B.C.; Rick Roberge, Coquitlam; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. A celebration of Bernie's life will be held Nov. 16 at 1:00 p.m. at the Maple Ridge Gold Club on Harris Rd. Bernie was a longtime resident of Green Lake and moved to Keremeos four years ago. His positive attitude and willing help will be greatly missed by all.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the unexpected passing of Trevor at the age of 22. He is survived by his mother Janet (Jim); his sister Anne-Marie (Luke); his Auntie Donna (Rob), his cousins Tara and Bryan; his Auntie Liz (Bill), and his cousins Stacey and Rebecca. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 7, 2003 in the Valley Room located behind the Red Coach Inn on Highway 97, 100 Mile House, B.C.

Middlemass, Alexander Douglas Monday, 05 Apr 2004
May 9, 1911 - April 5, 2004
Passed away peacefully April 5, 2004 in 100 Mile House, B.C. Born May 19, 1911 in Nakusp, B.C. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jennie; daughters Rosalie Middlemass (Harvey Gilbert), Deborah Middlemass (Graham Bell), Ruth Pacheco, Gerrie Cotton (Ray) and Sandy Middlemass. Predeceased by daughters Edith Berg (Armand) and Faye Bliss (Ron), and his brother Roy Middlemass (Doris). Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren. In addition, left to mourn are his brother John Middlemass (Louise) and sister Katherine E. Hall and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alex’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A Memorial Service will be held Sat., Aril 10, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the 108 Community Centre.

Schapansky, Chad Jerry Monday, 29 Mar 2004
Jan. 21, 1981 - March 29, 2004
Chad Jerry Schapansky, age 23, of Clearwater, B.C. (formerly of 100 Mile House, B.C.) died while performing his duty as a firefighter on March 29, 2004. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents; Sue and Vic Meyer of 100 Mile House and Dan and Marlene Schapansky of Clearwater; and his longtime girlfriend Nicole Waite. Also left with treasured memories are grandparents Jerry and Sharon Schapansky, Elizabeth Morgan and Lois Moore; his sister Brandie-Lynn Schapansky of 100 Mile House; brother Jason Schapansky of Clinton, B.C. (formerly of 100 Mile House); step-siblings Belinda Rempel of Delta, B.C.; Kim Ma of Coquitlam, B.C.; Heather Luxton of Abbotsford, B.C. and Brandon Luxton of North Vancouver, B.C.; uncle John (Jayne) Stokes; ants Debbie (Harold), Kim (Kurt) and Kelly (Ken); many, many cousins; uncle Darrell (Lee) Schapansky; aunts Diane Schapansky, Susan Schapansky and Lynn Schapansky; nephews James, Alex and Marcus Rempel and Spencer Ma. Predeceased by grandfather Gary Morgan. Chad enjoyed his childhood years growing up on the family ranch at 100 Mile House, B.C. His kindheartedness led him to fire fighting, which became his passion. Chad enjoyed everything the outdoors had to offer. He was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Chad was a very outgoing, fun loving soul who lived his short life to the fullest. He lived his recent years in Clearwater working with his Dad at the family building supply, and belonged to the Clearwater Volunteer Fire Department. In the short six years that Chad and his girlfriend Nicole lived in Clearwater, they made many friends and Chad endeared himself to everyone he met.
We will all miss him greatly.
The family extends special thanks to the Clearwater Fire Department for all their help; and to family and friends. The Funeral Service was held on Mon., April 5, 2004 in the Evangilical Free Church with Pastor Lloyd Strickland and Pastor Ian Moilliet officiating. Following the service, Chad was laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in Clearwater. A celebration of Chad’s life was also held on Tues., April 6, 2004 in the Forest Grove Community Hall in Forest Grove, B.C. In memory of Chad, the family would appreciate donations made to the Clearwater Volunteer Fire Department Trust Fund c/o Interior Savings Credit Union.

Ivy Lucille Buckland of Williams Lake passed away March 27, 2004 at 82 years of age. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat., April 3, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lac la Hache Senior’s Activity Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cariboo Foundation Hospital Trust for the purchase of a CT scanner. LaPrairie’s Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements.
